40. Presents
Pov Jimin
On Christmas Eve there always was a banquet in the Great Hall for the students who couldn't go home.
This year it was only Yoongi and me. Even the teachers weren't here.
The gigantic tables that normally stood in here were replaced by a little one that was set up in the middle of the hall.
It had a white tablecloth on it, some candles and a few rose petals in the middle, which made the whole scenery look really romantic.
Yoongi was already sitting on one of the chairs when I stepped inside, but when he saw me he immediatly stood up.
He walked around the table and pulled the chair back for me to sit down.
'Like if we were on a date.' I thought and blushed.
I looked at Yoongi as he sat down again.
"You look good in a suit." I said and smiled shyly at him.
"Thanks, Rice cake. You look really great too." He answered softly.
I blushed even more and played with the hem of the tablecloth.
Ok, now or never, Jiminie. You can do it. Just tell him you like him. It's not that big of a deal.
"You know, I wanted to tel-" We both started at the same time.
"I-I'm sorry. Please go f-first, Hyung." I said.
Maybe that's a sign that I shouldn't tell him.
"O-Oh, you know, it wasn't that important anyways. What were you about to say?" He asked and tilted his head to the side.
Tell him, Jimin. I know you can do it.
"N-Nothing really." I panicked.
Why god? Why?!
"Shall we eat then?" Yoongi changed the subject and I nodded thankfully.
The rest of the dinner I didn't have the courage to say anything else and Yoongi didn't start a conversation either.
Maybe he is just as nervous as I am?
After I finished my third dessert we talked for a little while before we said our goodnights and headed back to our dorms.
We promised to meet each other in the Great Hall again first thing in the morning and I wanted to take the chance to give him the present I bought for him when we were in Hogsmeat yesterday.
~time skip~
With the present in my hand I was now waiting for Yoongi in the Great Hall.
I paced back and forth, trying to contain my nervousness.
What if he doesn't like the present? What if he hates it?!?!
When I heard the door open I quickly span around and nearly tripped over my own feet.
"Slow down, Rice cake." Yoongi chuckled. "You might hurt yourself."
"You're right." I let out a nervous laugh and scratched the back of my neck.
"This is for you." I said as I handed the little box over to him when he stopped next to me.
He smiled softly at me as he took the package out of my hands and handed me one as well.
"But you didn't have to get me something, Hyung." I told him and looked at him surprised.
"You neither." He shrugged it off, sat down on the floor and patted the space next to him to signal me that I should do the same.
After I sat down I watched him expectant and waited for him to open the present.
"You open it first." I said after a moment that we just sat there and stared at each other.
He slightly nodded and started to unwrap the present.
Inside was a little box and as he opened it, it revealed a silver ring and a leather band.
"You see, since the ring on my necklace fits your finger, I thought that I'd get you one that fits my fingers perfectly." I mumbled an explanation and looked away because I was embarrassed of my own idea.
Why did I do this. It was a dumb idea. He probably thinks I'm weird and stupid now.
I felt a tap in my shoulder and looked up to Yoongi who held the necklace out to me.
Does he dislike it that much, that he wants to give it back to me?
But what he said next took me by surprise.
"Will you please put it around my neck for me?" He asked and showed his adorable gummy smile.
I looked at him in disbelieve before I slowly grabbed the necklace. "S-So you like it?" I questioned him.
"No." He said without hesitation and I felt tears building up in my eyes.
"I love it." He exclaimed happily.
I let out a sigh of relief and smiled brightly at him. "I'm glad."
"Now open mine." He said excidedly and I chuckled at his cute behaviour.
I unwrapped the present and wasn't quite sure what it was at first.
It was really soft and made of green and silver fabric.
It's a scarf. No. Not just a scarf, it's his scarf that he let me use as a pillow in detention.
"You looked like you rather wanted to keep it when you gave it back to me." He explained after he saw my confused face.
"Thank you so much." I yelled happily and jumped into his arms.
He was frozen from the shock for a second, but then wrapped bis arms around me.
"You're welcome, Rice cake." He whispered in my ear.
