Who Am I?

Hidden in a remote town in northern Canada, Crystal Scherer often spends her free time writing, volunteering, and attending church during the snowy winter. Her favorite hobbies include things like gardening and trying to figure out which snowbank her car is buried under this time. Her life is pretty boring and uneventful, unlike many of her characters.

She started writing various fantasy and zombie stories on Wattpad in 2016, gathering over 22 million reads within 6 years. Her passion for reading and learning sometimes inspires some unusual stories, and despite her cats' best attempts to walk on her keyboard, her books are free of swear words.

1. What prompted you to start writing on Wattpad and what do you like most about the platform as a writer?
I joined Wattpad as a reader, but the lure of the Create button eventually tempted me into trying to write a book of my own. And that is also the beauty of Wattpad - anyone can try it so it's a great place to get started and learn.

2. What has been your most rewarding Wattpad experience?
The reader comments are liquid gold.

3. If you had to describe your story in three words, what would they be?

Unusual
humorous
unique

4. Tell us one thing about your writing process that has helped you the most.
Writing, then letting it sit for at least 6 months before revising.

5. What is your proudest moment as a writer? Do you have a memory you will never forget?
When I had 5 books all in the 5 of the sci fi Hot list.

6. Which of your books is your favourite, and why that one?
Heartfire is my favorite. It was my first story and lives closest to my heart.
