Ladies of the Court

Izzy:

Yeva:

Malia:

Ara:

Mari:

Anthony:

Bane:

Izzy woke up from her day dream, looking around in confusion. She saw that Ara, Yeva and Evie were walking toward her. They looked toward where Mari, Malia and Mal were being interviewed by paparazzi again, since Mari was the crush to Bane, and Malia and Mal were the girlfriends to Ben and Anthony.

"Mal, Malia, Mari, please, over here! Mal! Malia! Mari! Only three days to the Royal Cotillion. Mal, Malia, ever think two sisters like yourselves would be Ladies of the Court, and dating Prince Ben and King Anthony? Princess Mari, are you and Prince Bane officially together? Will you become a Lady of Auradon's Court as well as being princess in Scotland and in Atlantica? How does it feel to be the three most envied girls in Auradon? Mal, do you like being blonde? Malia, do you like having red hair like Princess Mari and her older sister Princess Ara? Are they the inspiration that you got for the red hair? Princess Mari, how does it feel now that you and your older sister Ara don't have to leave Auradon? What is it like to be a mermaid princess in three different locations? Are your parents, the Scotland queen Merida and the Atlantica prince Aquatic, proud that you could become a Lady of the Court in Auradon? Mal, Malia, is your mother still a lizard? Is the Queen of Hearts, your friend Izzy's mother, still trapped in a scepter? Is Yzma, the mother of your other friend Yeva, still a cat?"

Bane, Ben and Anthony walked up to them.

"Okay, all right, excuse us," Ben pardoned. "Uh, we will let you know if and when the particular situation regarding Mal, Malia, Izzy and Yeva's mothers change."

"Merida and Aquatic let Ara and Mari stay in Auradon because they helped me, Izzy, Yeva, Mal, Malia, Evie, Jay and Carlos save the kingdom from Izzy, Yeva, Mal and Malia's mothers," Bane explained. "It was on live TV, so all of you know how it happened. So please stop asking about it."

"Prince Ben, King Anthony, did you ever think you'd be with two Villain Kids, who happen to be sisters?" another reporter asked. "Prince Bane, did you ever think that a prince practicing magic like yourself would ever be with a half-mermaid Scottish princess?"

"Mari and I are not together," Bane told them.

"When will you be?" another reporter asked.

Mari and Bane both scoffed at how the reporter said 'when will you be', like everyone assumed that they would get together.

Anthony, Ben, Malia and Mal looked at Mari and Bane.

Mari and Bane both faked a laugh.

Anthony looked at the reporters, declining to answer any more questions. "We're done here."

Fairy Godmother stepped in front of Mari, Bane, Ben, Malia, Mal and Anthony to save them from press questions. "Okay. Shush, shush, shush, shush. This is still a school, so if you're here, you're either skipping or trespassing."

"Just one quick question--"

Fairy Godmother shushed them again. "Thank you, guys." The reporters all groaned in disappointment, turning away. "Mal. Malia. Ben. Anthony. Bane. Mari."

The six of them nodded. "Fairy Godmother."

Fairy Godmother walked away.

Ben turned to Mari, Mal and Malia. "Don't pay any attention to them."

"Well, that's a lot easier said than done, right?" Malia asked.

Anthony nodded. "I know, I know. Mal, walk with me?"

"Sure," Mal answered

 They walked away together.

Anthony smiled. "You know, maybe we should do something. We should go somewhere. Get away."

"Yeah," Mal agreed.

"You know, what do..." Anthony trailed off, looking at the time. "I have a council meeting. I'm so late."

"That's okay," Mal assured.

Evie and Ara dragged Izzy and Yeva over to the three royal couples.

Evie looked at Mari, Mal and Malia. "If we don't do a fitting for your gowns right this minute, you'll be dancing in your bathrobes, okay? I have to fit Yeva and Izzy's dresses anyway, and Yeva has a date with Jay later, so she needs a good outfit, too. Ben, Malia, Anthony and Mal all have dates too, but at least Mal and Malia are in date-suitable clothing. Ara's helping with the fashion."

Izzy rolled her eyes, sighing. "I'm sure."

Yeva waved to the Beast brothers. "Hi, Ben. Anthony. Bane. Let's go, let's go."

Evie and Ara dragged the girls along. Bane, Ben and Anthony watched them go in amusement.

The reporters, seeing that the Beast brothers were now alone, ran to interview him again. "Prince Bane! Prince Ben! King Anthony!"

The Beast brothers exchanged a look, rolling their eyes, sighing.

Evie and Ara's Dorm Room

The girls were fitting their dresses.

Evie pulled Mal's shoulders back during her dress fitting, while Ara did the same for Malia, and Izzy was helping Mari with her dress. Yeva was looking at the date outfit that Evie had picked out for her date with Jay.

"Ugh," Malia complained. "Okay, Izzy, Evie, Ara, we cannot breathe."

"Well, you can breathe after cotillion," Evie told them.

"Well, I sincerely doubt that," Mal told them. "We have at least 20 more events directly behind it, and I can't even remember what a single one of them is."

Yeva gave the other girls a teasing look. "Life of a princess. Ara and Mari, and even Evie and Izzy would know, Mal, Malia."

Izzy scoffed. "Oh, please, Yeva. Princesses back on the Isle are so much different because that place is a prison where you couldn't do things like this. Good thing, too."

"Ara, Mari, will we ever get used to this?" Mal asked. "Me and Malia, Izzy and Evie even?"

"Well, depends," Ara admitted. "I mean, Mari and I had to juggle living in three worlds at once all our lives. It was always hectic for us."

"Yeah, and it's even more hectic now for me, Ara, since everyone thinks that me and Bane are dating, and thinks that I'm gonna become a Lady of Auradon's Court," Mari told her.

"Well, are you, Mari?" Malia asked.

"Am I what, Malia?" Mari asked.

"Are you dating Bane?" Malia asked. "Are you gonna become a Lady of the Court?"

Mari frowned. "No." The girls gave her a look. "I don't know, okay?"

The girls chuckled lightly.

"Don't worry, Mari," Mal told her. "We're getting used to it, too."

Mari sighed, nodding. "Thanks, Mal."

Izzy watched the girls bond, sitting down, sighing, looking down, hesitating, looking at Yeva, Evie, Mal and Malia. "Do you ever think about what we'd be doing if we were back on the Isle right now?"

"That's funny," Evie told her. The TV played loudly. "Ah, look who's on TV."

Malia, Mal, Mari, Ben, Anthony and Bane were on TV, as a woman was reporting. "As the royal couples continue their tour of the kingdom, they dined with Aladdin and Jasmine. Six months ago, no one thought that King Anthony, Prince Ben and their girlfriends from the wrong side of the bridge would last."

"Yeah, no kidding," Malia agreed.

"Mal and Malia must be counting the days until the royal cotillion, when they will officially become Ladies of the Court. But are Princess Mari and Prince Bane really an item? They seem to be, and everyone thinks so. So will Princess Mariana, of royal blood from Scotland and Atlantica, little sister of Princess Arabella, also become a Lady of Auradon's Court?"

Mal and Malia's eyes glowed green for a brief second. "Oh, no."

Mal went to get her spell book. The other girls exchanged a look, looking back at Mal.

Mal was reading a spell. "Read it fast at lightning speed. Remember everything I need."

Mal swished her hand around, and in an instant, grabbed the next book to read.

"You should help me out with that," Malia told her.

Evie sighed, walking over to them. "We know Mal and Malia's secret to fitting in, and Ben and Anthony wouldn't like it one bit. Haven't you guys had enough secrets between the four of you already?"

"Evie, you remember what we were like before we started using the spell book," Mal reminded her. "I mean, we were a complete disaster. Yeva and Izzy even said so."

"No, we didn't," Yeva told her.

Izzy raised her hand. "Well, I did, on a slip up."

The girls gave her a look. "Izzy."

Izzy sighed, looking away. "I wanted to help, but Mal and Malia wanted to do it on their own."

Ara looked at Mal and Malia. "Well, personally, as your friend, I strongly believe that this spell book..."

Ara took the book from Mal.

"Ara!" Mal complained.

"It belongs in the museum, along with Evie's mirror," Ara finished. "Yeva donated her mom's potion book, and she has to give it to Fairy Godmother by cotillion. We would have put Izzy's scepter in the museum, too, but that has her mom in it, so they let her keep it since it's her mom inside."

Mari sighed. "It's a choice, like Bane has a choice in keeping his scepter, but only because he doesn't rely on magic like both of you do."

"Right," Ara agreed.

Malia was giving them a look.

"Don't give us the face," Mari told her. Mal pouted. "Put the pout away. Mm-hmm. You know we're right."

Ara placed the spell book aside.

Izzy spoke up hesitantly, looking at Mal, Malia, Yeva and Evie. "You don't ever miss running wild and just breaking all the rules?"

"Like stealing and lying and fighting?" Yeva asked.

Izzy smiled, her face lighting up like a kid at Christmas. "Yeah."

Evie, Mal and Malia laughed, thinking she was joking again. "No."

Yeva shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe sometimes."

Izzy groaned in annoyance, sitting down. The other girls looked at her in confusion, concern.

"What?" Ara asked.

"Why would you?" Mari asked.

"Izzy, come here," Evie told her, taking Izzy by the hands, pulling her toward the other girls, leading them to the windows that allowed them to look outside. "Look at where we are. We're in Auradon. And we're Auradon girls now."

"See, this is the land of opportunity," Ara told them. "We can be whatever we want to be here."

"I agree," Mal agreed. "So please, let's just leave the past in the past, okay?"

"Okay," Malia agreed.

Mari checked on the girls' shoes for cotillion. "Besides. I mean, look at the shoes. Look at them."

Malia smiled. "Mm, severe."

"Killer," Yeva agreed.

Izzy still seemed distant compared to the other girls. "I just wish we could help the other kids back there. The ones like us." She looked at Evie, Mal and Malia. "The ones that you're all trying to forget that we were ever like."

"I wanna help them too, Izzy," Yeva told her. "We're just waiting for Anthony to give the green light so we can. He's the king, the only one who can do it. Ben, Anthony and Bane were the only ones that wanted us, Carlos and Jay here in the first place."

"Anthony's the only one that can let more kids like you come here," Mari agreed. "But he, Bane and Ben, they still want that. They just can't do it right now."

"Although we wish they could," Ara stated.

Izzy sighed, nodding.

Enchanted Lake

Mari's Mermaid Hair:

Mari's mermaid form:

Mari, back in her outfit for the day, went to the Enchanted Lake, just to sit there in the gazebo and try to relax.

Bane was standing by the lake, turning to look at her. "Hey, Mari."

Mari stood, surprised to see him. "Bane. Did you know that I was gonna come here?"

"Kinda," Bane answered sheepishly. "You always come here to calm down or if you're upset. You told me that when we were kids and you still do it."

"Right," Mari agreed. "Well, I'm actually glad that you're here. We can talk." She sat back down, gesturing to the table. "Come on, have a seat, and be my guest."

Bane laughed, walking closer. "I see what you did there." He sat down with Mari. "You look nice. I mean, not that you don't look nice every other day, because you d. But today, you look... um, I'm trying to find out what to say here without getting me in trouble."

Mari couldn't help but giggle. "You look really good today, too. Better than usual. But you always look good, too. How's that?"

"That is perfect," Bane answered. "You're a genius mermaid sea witch princess archeress, Mari."

Mari smiled. "And you're a little teeny tiny prince that acts like a beast sometimes, having a thing with magic, Bane."

Bane smirked. "Please. It's because of my thing with magic that is gonna make me the best prince ever, just like you used to tell me."

"Oh, and now you believe me?" Mari asked in amusement. "Yeah, okay."

Bane smiled. "Oh, what was that?" Mari was messing with him, smiling. Bane started tickling her. "I didn't hear you. What did you say?"

Mari was laughing, squirming. "Bane, stop it."

"Then tell me who's gonna be the best prince ever," Bane told her.

Mari was speaking through laughs. "Y... yo... you."

Bane stopped tickling her. "Good."

Mari smiled. "I wanna go for a swim."

"Wait, right now?" Bane asked.

"Yeah, right now," Mari answered. "I wanna go mermaid."

Bane nodded in understanding and agreement. "Okay, sure, go for it."

Mari smiled, taking off her necklace, handing it to Bane. "Hold onto this for me."

"Yeah, sure, definitely," Bane agreed.

Mari stood, diving into the water. Since she wasn't wearing her necklace when getting wet, she instantly turned into a mermaid. Bane watched in awe as she was swimming effortlessly and having fun in the waves, looking the most peaceful and at ease than she had been before.

While swimming in mermaid form, Mari was singing, while Bane couldn't hear her. "Big lights, people rushing to grow up before you know / Stop signs denied / Everyone tells me I gotta go slow / And it's gonna hurt sometimes, no matter what you do / But nothing can change my mind." Mari was underwater, weaving her way through the waves, still able to sing clearly even while underwater. "If I'm too young to fall in love, why do you keep running through my brain?" She looked at her colorful mermaid hair and her long mermaid tail. "If I'm too young to know anything, why do I know that I'm just not the same?" She continued to swim along. "Didn't tell me I won't, don't tell me I can't feel / What I'm feeling is real." She twirled in circles and spirals in the water for fun, looking free. "'Cause I'm not too young / Raindrops, deep thoughts." She flashed back to all the paparazzi clamoring over the three royal couples. "Pictures of you and me wherever I go." She swam up to the surface, looking toward Bane. "Laughing, swimming to a place where nobody says no." She went back underwater to swim and twirl around freely. "It's gonna hurt sometimes, no matter what you do." She swam up to the surface, looking up at the surface. "But I've got to fail to fly." She spun around in the water. "If I'm too young to fall in love, why do you keep running through my brain?" She went underwater again, using her tail to act like she was walking along the bottom of the lake. "If I'm too young to know anything, why do I know that I'm just not the same?" She pushed her hands forward, creating a wave of intense water to soar past her as it swirled around. "Didn't tell me I won't." She put a hand to her chest, spinning around, spiraling in swimming circles. "Don't tell me I can't feel." She swam up to the surface while spinning. "What I'm feeling is real." Breaching through the surface of the Enchanted Lake, Mari leaned back on the water, laying down, letting herself float along, arms propping up her head. "'Cause I'm not too young." She swam down, then did a leap through the air out of the water back into the water, landing with a loud splash, getting Bane wet in the process, making him laugh. "'Cause I'm not too young." Underwater, Mari spun around, using mermaid magic to create a tornado of water around her. "No........................."

Bane smiled, clapping. "You're amazing as a mermaid, Mari."

Mari smiled, swimming up tot he shore again once she was done swimming. "You mind giving me a hand?"

"Oh, yeah, sure, of course," Bane answered, helping Mari out of the water, but since he was pulling a girl with a mermaid tail out of the water, they both ended up falling to the ground, with Mari over him. "I, uh..."

They both laughed lightly, looking at each other, smiling. Mari did something she didn't even think of doing, instinctively giving Bane a kiss. They both looked at each other in surprise, but happy, smiling. Bane started to kiss Mari back, to more of their surprise. He helped her sit up, both of them laughing.

Mari looked down. "I'm sorry."

Bane smiled. "No, it's okay. I liked it."

Bane pulled back a strand of Mari's mermaid hair. They looked at each other and smiled. Bane put Mari's mermaid necklace around her neck. They watched as Mari's tail began to tingle and sparkle, soon being replaced by two legs, wearing her normal clothes. Although, since Mari was still wet, her hair was still her colorful mermaid hair. Bane and Mari smiled, taking each other by the hands, standing, walking off together, hand in hand.
