I m a g i n e : You and Finn live together in a gang—they're not particularly aggressive but can be when needed.
Finn was always the 'baby' of the gang, so when the gang kills someone, he doesn't take it well, and runs off, leaving you to run after him because you love him..

"y/n, you stay in the car and wait for us. finn, you're gonna come with us this time."
noah schnapp was a rough guy, always ordering others around because he knew that his gang needed authority and order.
you were the youngest of the gang, and the only girl nonetheless.
you were like everybody's little sister, only, you didn't want to be a sister to one of the guys.
you and finn wolfhard were the only two people who preferred peace over the violence, but nobody listened to you two, of course.
you two grew up together, only having each other to lean on as best friends.
you were noah schnapp's little sister, meaning you didn't have anywhere else to go but with him, and the gang.
noah's 'gang' was more like his family—they all took care of each other.
but sometimes, business got out of hand, and certain measures needed to be taken.
"what—why?"
you were not usually told to stay in the car for danger of the rival gangs finding you alone.
so when noah pulled into the parking lot of a mall and parked the car before turning around in his seat to tell you to stay, you were confused.
"just do what i tell you, okay? quincy, jaeden, chosen, noah, and finn—let's go."
and those were the only words needed from noah for the guys to listen.
finn never went with them on business trips like this, because he never knew how they were going to end, and he didn't feel comfortable doing them.
so this was his first time, and you could see how nervous he looked in the seat next to you, his hands jittery as he fumbled to unbuckle his seatbelt.
he gave you a pleading look, with his wide brown eyes that you've grown used to falling into.
the same eyes you've grown used to looking at, and just completely melting at their mercy.
you knew finn had anxiety, and his panic attacks were not regular, but he had them on several occasions.
"you'll be fine. i'm sure it's just the normal business trip."
your voice soothed finn's nerves in the littlest, feeling calmer once he felt your comforting hand on his shoulder.
his black curls on his head bobbed as he nodded, giving you a thin smile before exiting the car, following his gang members urgently under the shield of the gloomy, rainy, sky.
you could only watch as the guys walked further away from the window as you were now sitting alone in the large suv that you've grown accustomed to traveling in.
it was a somber day, with the daylight not bright enough to pierce through the gray clouds above, threatening rainfall.
but the mood soon changed when you heard a loud shot, and saw all 6 guys run towards the car at lightening speed, practically ramming into it before actually opening the doors to get inside.
finn slid in hurriedly next to you, his breath heavy from running so fast.
"what happened?!"
your voice was frantic, not knowing what had happened but you had a hunch.
judging from finn's horrified facial expression, and the content faces of the rest of the gang, you could only guess that they—
"we had to take care of someone. they won't be crossing us again, i'll tell you that."
noah's words were confident while he looked at you through the rearview mirror, and gave a joking smile to jack, who was in the passenger seat.
your stomach clenched, knowing that finn had a perfect reason to be acting so panicked.
noah drove the car home, swerving to a stop as everyone filed out to walk inside the small house, fixed up to be their home.
it was nothing much, but it was your home.
it was secluded ; located in the outskirts of town for the sake of privacy.
you fumbled through the pantry, searching for any food to get your mind off of what your brother and jack just did.
"guys, i'm gonna head out on a supply run. we barely got any shit in here."
you were just trying to clear your head, knowing that your brother just killed someone.
"okay, but you better stay on the down low. cops are searching everywhere, so keep a low profile."
your brother had always been protective of you, but you knew how to protect yourself.
"i know, i know. i'll be back in 10."
you hurriedly waved him off, only to see finn anxiously sitting in the living room alone, his foot tapping on the ground while he stared into space.
you quickly went to the store, getting the necessities but also some of the finn's favorite snacks, hoping that they would cheer him up.
he never took death well, as any normal person, but this line of 'work' wasn't an easy life for him.
so, being his best friend, that meant you were his biggest support system to lean back on.
you drove back to the house, managing to slip under the cops' noses as you made it safely home with bags in tow.
"i'm home."
you shouted into the house, seeing the gang all sprawled out in the living room, watching tv.
all but one person.
"where's finn..?"
you asked, dropping the bags off on the couch for the gang to dig into.
the tore apart the paper bags like animals, searching for their favorite item.
"hello? noah, answer me."
you were getting agitated, and knowing finn well, you knew he shouldn't be alone in the state he was in.
your brother's attention snapped away from his hot cheeto bag, and shrugged.
"don't know. he literally just left like a minute before you got here. said he left a note for you in the kitchen or something."
noah's words were laidback, not particularly caring about finn at the moment when he had cheetos in his lap.
you immediately walked over to the kitchen, picking up a crumpled note on the counter that you definitely recognized to be your best friend's handwriting.
"y/n,
by the time you're reading this, i'll have already run off. i'm going away for a few weeks; i don't know how long.
but in case i don't come back, please take care of yourself, n/n.
-finn"
your heart began beating at rapid speeds, just the mere thought of being in the gang without finn made you panic.
in a rushed daze, you ran across the living room for the door, opening it just in time to see finn's figure sprinting away from the house in the night's shade.
"finn!"
without a second thought, you broke out in a sprint as well, able to keep finn in your plain of vision, knowing that you both could run long distances because the gang made sure they trained you well.
finn continued running, all the way down the street and into the patch of trees that formed the smallest forest, and amidst the forest, was a river that led into town.
you continued to run after finn, seeing that he was slowing down to a halt by the river between the tangle of trees.
your feet crunched the leaves beneath you as you finally caught up with finn, seeing him staring out into the river with heavy breaths from his run.
"finn, what the hell?"
you asked with a confused tone, between breaths, trying to regulate your breathing pattern again.
you saw finn clench his jaw, the moon illuminating his conflicted feelings.
he licked his lips as he bent down to pick up a stone, angrily tossing it into the river with a loud splash.
"damn it! if i can't kill, and i can't fight, then what am i, y/n? i'm a fucking outsider that hates violence, like how bad of a pussy am i?!"
finn's words slurred with frustration embedded underneath.
you could tell he was having a panic attack, so you took his face in your palms, and caressed his shuttering face.
he instantly became tranced by the soothing pools of your e/c eyes, staring back into his brown ones.
"it's gonna be okay, calm down. i'm not one for the violence either, but we need you, finn. i need you."
you tried your best to comfort him in his frazzled state as he stared at you with furrowed eyebrows and a clenched jaw, his eyes threatening to pierce through a veil of tears.
he wasn't meant for this life, yet life was not made to cater.
"i can't go back..not yet."
his words broke your heart.
if you weren't going to convince him to come back, then you were going to go with him, wherever he goes.
"then i'm going with you."
you weren't going to give up on him this easy, so you stood your ground, ignoring finn's shaking head for he was worried his best friend would get hurt because of him.
"no, you're not."
"yes, i am."
"fuck no."
"fuck yes."
"goddammit, fine. i just..i just don't want you getting hurt."
finn's eyes softened when he looked up at you once more, noticing your hands were still on his cheeks before you jerked them away.
"i won't. we're gonna be fine. now let's hurry up and go spend the night at some store, it's freezing out here."
you mumbled, your jaw jittering from the night's breeze.
without a word, finn had slipped his black hoodie over his head, exposing his gray muscle shirt underneath, and handed you his hoodie for you were only in a tanktop and jeans.
"what? no, keep it, i'm fine."
you tried to deny his kind offer, only to get a more persistent glare from finn.
"i didn't ask."
he stated simply, helping you slip on the hoodie over your head without another protest from you.
you couldn't help but sigh with a content smile on your lips when you inhaled the scent that wafted off of finn's hoodie, smelling distinctly like oak and cigarette smoke.
you followed finn as he trekked back through the forest in which he entered, and emerged by the sidewalk of a busy street in town.
you two walked together closely, hand-in-hand as finn found a Walmart to crash at, having not brought enough money for both him and you to stay at a motel.
you two entered the Walmart, finding your ways towards the back of the building, where the inventory and storage was stowed.
"here. we'll crash here for the night."
and without another word from finn, you two found a secluded corner that seemed untouched by the staff members, and laid down behind a crate.
unconsciously, you snuggled into finn's side as you two laid there, not really caring at all where you were.
—
you two woke up in a shock, tangled up in each other's limbs, hearing many staff members bustling and conversing in what you two had thought was a secluded area of the storage room.
stealthily, you two make it out of the Walmart without calling attention to yourselves in the process.
you two needed food, so you walked over to the nearest convenience store/gas station, with what so happened to be conjoined with a subway.
entering the store with the ringing of the entrance bell, you and finn cautiously made walked through the aisles, trying to seem casual.
"i'll go order some sandwiches. you sneak as many things as you can into your hoodie pocket, okay?"
finn was becoming demanding, but only because he knew that you could be in danger for being with him out in public like this.
"yeah. and hey..everything's going to be okay, alright? i'm here.."
you knew he needed some sort of reassurance from you, and he smiled softly at your words before you two split up into your assigned roles.
you two got what you needed, and proceeded to eat the sandwiches outside, thinking that you could hide in plain sight.
eating in front of the gas station, and with mouthfuls of food, you and finn laughed together, knowing that you two never got this time together anymore.
"yeah well, that cashier dude was definitely hitting on you."
finn joked with you, but you detected a hint of jealousy underlying his words.
you smirked, staring at finn's rising cheeks, his cheekbones so defined with the sun blazing on his face.
"i know. so i told him that..that you were my boyfriend."
finn tensed at those words; his face reddening as he squinted against the sun's beams that radiated on you and him.
you don't know what took over you, but your feelings for finn only pulsated aggressively throughout your body, your heart pounding once you saw finn staring intensely at you, with love swirling in his eyes.
you couldn't tell if you were the one that leaned in first, because before you knew what was happening, finn reached to cup your cheek gingerly, his calloused fingers grazing your soft skin.
his eyes flickered between your lips and your eyes, about to press his lips to yours for the first time, only for the tender moment to be cut short from it.
"oh my god ! it's the guy from the newspaper—the murderer !"
shouts and warnings from the gas pumps at the convenience store cause you and finn to suddenly jerk away from each other's touch, panicked to see people pointing warningly at you and finn.
police sirens already echoed from down the street, signaling that you and finn needed to make a break for it.
in one swift move, finn and you shot up from where you were sitting, and with finn clasping his hand with yours, you two ran from the scene, at speeds that no civilian could've topped.
you two ran and ran until you breathlessly made it back to the gang house, in all its scrimpy glory.
you two burst through the door, seeing that the gang was bustling around, frantically packing up things around the house.
"where the hell have you two been?!"
the booming voice of your older brother echoed throughout the house, and you could tell just how pissed he was.
his angered eyes flickered between your face, and the interlinked hands of you and finn, in which you two jerked apart yet again.
"don't worry about it. but noah, the police are onto us, we need to get moving. now."
you warned, scanning the room and watching as everybody was already packing things up into carriers, before loading the carriers into the trunk of the suv.
"yeah, we know. no thanks to you and lover boy here."
you flinched at your brother's words, his jaw clenched as he gave finn a once-over before his eyes glazed over to you.
"get some rest. we leave at dawn."
noah stated simply, leaving you and finn to stand together alone, and do nothing but heed to noah's order.
you and finn fell asleep on the couch together, not knowing you two snuggled up while the gang finished packing.
so you were panicked when you woke up, expecting to see finn at your side on the couch, but you didn't.
you frantically looked around, your hands in finn's hoodie pocket that you were wearing, his scent still lingering on the fabric.
you looked around the room of sleeping guys in the dark, not seeing any sign of finn until you found yet another note from him, laid gently on top of one of his other hoodies.
" y/n,
i'm leaving for good this time. i can't continue to stand by and watch my friends kill people like routine. it hurts.
but with you, i got through it.
with you, i'm capable of anything.
but i'm not going to be apart of the gang anymore.
i'm not going to live this life forever.
i'm going to be at cherwick forest, where we were last night. i'll be there till dawn, if you want to come with me.
but if you don't want to, i left my favorite hoodie for you to keep to remember me by, just in case.
ps. also, i could see you taking whiffs of my hoodie last night, so here's a fresh one ;)
your best friend,
-finn "
you held the note to your chest, as if it was going to preserve it's meaning.
you bit your lip in contemplation, knowing exactly what you were going to do.
so with a swipe of one of noah's fake credit cards, and finn's hoodie, you snuck out of the house, quietly closing the door behind you as you were met with the frosty night air.
you took a couple steps away from the house, giving it one last meaningful glance before breaking out in a run towards the forest, in the direction you went last night.
before long, the same leaves crunched under your boots, approaching the familiar river in which you saw finn, standing while watching the small ripples in the water.
"hey.."
you said, getting finn's attention as he turned to look back, his face lighting up at sight of you.
"hey..i didn't think you'd come."
finn said in awe, as he made his way over to you in the pale moonlight.
when he reached you, he instinctively
rested his hands on your waist, making you blush as you saw the amount of love for you in his eyes.
"i'm here.."
you reassured with a soft smile, standing on your tiptoes to plant a long lasting kiss to finn's chapped lips, hearing him mumbling something along the lines of:
"i love you.."
