From that day on, The Burrow fall in silent for years in a way it never had before, no more pranks and laughter ringing around in the house. There was a hole in their lives, a scar that no healing spell or time passes could ease the pain. Fred Weasley's death had left an ache sharp cut through life of the Weasley family.

And no one carried that burden heavier than George, not so long after the funeral, he started to get lost his mind and went crazy.

One day when he is looking in the mirror, he saw the same face just like Fred, except missed one of the ear, which is himself. When he saw it, he screamed out and breaking the mirror with his fist. After break the mirror, he slumped down on the ground with bleeding hands and stare blankly at the wall. Molly and Ginny heard the noise and come to check what is wrong, and they saw the scene.

Molly: Oh dear! What happened to you George?

George: ......

Ginny: George, are you okay?

George: ......

Molly: Let's get you clean and patched up.

They helped him over the couch and let him sit down, then they clean the wounds and blood and patched it up. And George, he was stay in silence and stared blankly during the whole time. It was like he had lost his voice and soul or something.

It keeps happening again and again until the mirror in the whole house is all gone. But it wasn't the end. And after the mirror thing, he will burst into tears almost every day and sometimes even when they are in the public. Also sometimes he will act and joking around wearing a fake ear, let Molly guess who he is. And Molly will look at him sadly and play along with him or told him that Fred is gone, and he will burst into tears again.

Time passed by, and the Weasleys started to mention Fred as less as they can, especially when George is around, because they don't want to let him get triggered by the past sad memories again and break down.

About George, he rarely spoke after the first few months. He also barely eating or drink, but because he don't want his family to be worried when they are still recovering from the incident. He eat after they urge him for so many times, but still don't eat or drink much every day, and he gets more paler and skinnier than before. He also avoided the joke shop he and Fred had poured their souls into. Because it has memories of him and it's too much for him to handle it. He will vanished for days without a reason, and return only to cry himself to sleep in the twin-sized room they had once shared together.

The once vibrant young man who lived to make pranks and make others laugh, now is hollow and consumed by the loss of his twin and his other half.

Time Skip

It took them two years to recover from the incident and back to normal life, but they never forgot about Fred. The third year spring, Harry asked Ginny to marry him, and she agreed. So the Weasleys gathered together after years and prepared for their wedding ceremony. After they got married, one year later, Ron also asked Hermione to marry him and she agreed too. So the Weasleys prepared another wedding ceremony for them too, and it also brings back the happiness and laughter to the family after years in silence, and hanging in the house atmosphere for a while.

The fourth year, after the two major events, George finally started to consider reopening Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes after years too. The shop had been gathering dust in Diagon Alley in the past few years, and his family, friends, and even Angelina have urged him to move on before, but he refused to do it. And now he finally decided to use it in the memory of Fred and honor him by bringing their shared dream back to life.

It was a sunny day of spring when he went to the Diagon Alley and approached the shop that was opened by two of them. The windows were grimy, and the colors of the signs had faded, but in George's head, he could still hear Fred's voice echoing as if he were standing beside him.

"We'll make them laugh so hard, they won't even realize they're buying two of everything."

A lump formed in George's throat, and he blinks his eyes for a few times to held back the tears that is threatening to spill out. He takes a deep breath and let it out, Then he said.

George: This is for you, Fred. I miss you mate, and I promise I will keep the shop open and going, in the honor and memories of you. Also our dreams.

With that he fiddled the keys and go into the shop.
