“How did you feel? After finding him – I mean.” The ginger haired man asks. “I didn't know how to feel. It wasn't the first dead person I'd seen. My sperm donor, who became like my actual family – died. He died from a brain tumor. I was around ten, when that happened. But when I saw DJ, I didn't know how to react… Because – well – I'd only just met him. So, I guess, his death didn't have as big of an impact, as I thought it would. ” Katherine explains with a pained expression. She felt like she was sharing too much. But, she hadn't seen, or talked to her therapist in months, she needed to say all of this to someone. And it's not like she'd want to burden ‘them’ with her problems. And she obviously hadn't been able to see ‘them’ since they were saved.

The men scribble something on their papers. Probably something to do with their lack of empathy towards others. It's not that she didn't feel empathy – she just didn't feel the need to break down crying over someone that they didn't know.

Day 2 on the island

Katherine woke up the next day, to someone shaking her awake. Three guesses who. “Kath, wake up. You need to eat something.” Leo says quietly. They nod their head before getting up. Katherine greets the others with a nod of her head. She sits down on a log after grabbing a granola bar and a water bottle. They needed to ration the food that they had. Otherwise – well, Katherine didn't want to think about that.

“Did you sleep well?” Leo asks her. He doesn't know how to give up – does he? “As well as you can sleep leaning against a rock.” She responds. Leo nods. Stupid question – of course he, should have thaought about it before asking. Kirin had been looking at them for a few minutes – more like staring. He was trying to figure out what had happened between the two, to make Katherine dislike Leo. It had to have been bad, but obviously not bad enough for her to not completely ignore Leo's existence.

Whatever it was, Kirin was hoping that she would eventually tell him. He didn't know what it was, but he was just instantly attracted to her. Specifically, the moment he saw her on the plane. He was confused, it was the first time that this has ever happened to him. And he was lost on what to do. They got along, at least from the conversation that they'd had the day before. But he didn't know her, and she didn't know him. So, how could he like her, if he didn't know her? He was starting to think like he was in one of those cheesy rom-coms.

“Hey Kirin.” Katherine says as he sits next to her. Silently thanking him in her head. “Hey.” He responds, before starting to eat his food. Katherine watched out of her peripheral vision, as his arm muscles flexed when he moved his arms. Holy, fuck. His arm muscles. Leo watches her silently. He surprisingly wasn't jealous, because even he had to admit, Kirin O'Connor is attractive. Not like he would ever tell him that. He wasn't going to out himself to a random guy, even if he is hot.

Ivan watches the trio in amusement. He sensed something was going to happen between them… Eventually. After they were done eating, Katherine got up. Both boys instantly look at her. She doesn't notice this, because as always, she's oblivious. She walks over to her suitcase and takes out some clothes. “I'm going to change. If I see one if you creeps following me, I will fucking stab you, in the balls.” Katherine threatens with a smile. They all immediately nod.

She would definitely follow through with the threat. “Is she always like that?” Kirin asks amused. Leo nods his head. “Usually she's worse. ” He answers honestly. “You're tell me, that she's threatened worse, than that?” Scotty exclaims. “Yeah, and she's followed through with her threats.” Leo says nonchalantly. They all stare at him, waiting for further explanation. “She's stabbed a random person with scissors before.” Leo explains.

“The fuck. Why?” Scotty asks curious. “I'm pretty sure it was an old dude trying to hit on her.” Leo responds. Ivan nods understandingly. “That's reasonable.” Ivan says. Kirin is in even more awe of her. But, at the same time – fucking hell, she stabbed someone. That didn't discourage him from liking her, it just made him cautious of his wording choice, for whenever he talks to her.

“I thought she didn't like you.” Seth says. “This was before she didn't like me. We used to get along. But it's their decision if they want to tell you.” Leo says. Ivan nods his head in respect. It just made Kirin more fucking curious to figure out what happened. But he wasn't going to press on the subject.

Day 7 on the island

They had been on the island for a week. And rescue hadn't arrived yet. Katherine was already losing hope. They're food supply was slowly going down. And if nobody rescues them, within the week, they were going to die from starvation. Katherine could barely last a few hours without food. How was she going to last days without food? She didn't know, but she had a plan.

In the past week, she's gotten closer to the others. Especially Kirin, and sadly Leo. She still held a grudge against him, but she was now able to hold a decent conversation with him, without wanting to slap him – again. “Katherine.” Kirin calls, getting her attention. She looks up at him. “I asked you if you ate.” he repeats. She nods her head, the truth was she hadn't. But, he didn't need to know that.

“She's lying.” Leo says, sitting down next to them. Katherine glares at him – fucking snitch. “Katherine, just eat something.” Kirin sighs. “Later.” Katherine dismisses. Leo and Kirin share a look. She wasn't going to eat later, and they both knew it.
