Also- as the time in the book goes on the Dino family (Orange, Cyan, Yellow) progressively get more and more spikes, as you can see Orange has more spikes than in the beginning of the book (half due to stress/fear and half bc of Red)

Btw his spikes are retractable, but can sometimes leave a temporary scar, he can't control his spikes though it's just stress levels and stuff Red does to him (oop) that change his spikes
