Romance: I have a soft-spot for romantic comedies, but I'm happy to read romances in just about any subgenre except erotica. Paranormal, fantasy, urban, contemporary, bad-boy-billionaire-werewolf-mafiaboss, and more are fine, but no a**hole males. I will be looking for inner and outer conflict keeping the 2, or more, love interests apart, and an actual story-line (not just a series of events). Of course, a happily ever after is a must.

Fantasy: I grew up on Dragonlance (I am really dating myself with this reference), and I love all things swords, magic, dragons, cursed lands or objects, and lots of action. I'm not one for mythological gods, however, or anything overly religious. I like my fantasy characters to suffer, so let there be pain....

Sci-fi: nothing too hard-core, but I do enjoy steam-punk, as well as futuristic takes on our world, and how technology can define or undo humans.

Horror: nothing too gory or gratuitously violent, unless you have an adept hand for turning this to dark humor (think Shaun of the Dead or What We Do in the Shadows).

Comedy: yes.

YA and MG: if you have a YA or MG in fantasy, sci-fi, adventure, mysteries or other, then I'd love to see it, with the exception of sick or dying kids. Sorry. I'm a mom and I don't handle this trope well.

Diversity: I am fully open to LGBTQIA+ stories and writers, and am very interested in reading stories from other perspectives, cultures and life experiences than my own.

Additional: Sorry, but no stories over 100,000 words. While lots of people love a thick, juicy story, I won't have the time or energy to give an in-depth read and critique on something that is very long. Also, I am not the right fit for fanfiction, mysteries, thrillers, or other genres not mentioned above.
