Hello potential mentees,

At this point, you're probably wondering what exactly Wattpairs mentorship challenge is and how it came to be. Last year I spent a lot of time preparing one of my own manuscripts for PitchWars and the entire time I kept thinking to myself, "why isn't this something that happens on Wattpad?"

I didn't end up getting chosen but it was a great experience. An experience that helped build community, challenged me as a writer, and overall reminded me why I loved writing. I wanted to share that feeling with my Wattpad family.

And now here we are. A contest made by writers for writers.

In short, this contest is where chosen mentors from all over the Wattpad community with varying degrees of writer "know-how" [i.e. published authors, editors, wattpad stars, watty winners, wattpad paid writers, Etc.] will select one writer each, read their entire manuscript, and offer suggestions that will help polish it up and have it sparkling for the final showcase at the end of the contest.

As a potential mentee here are the dates to mark on your calendar:

SEPTEMBER 1st MENTOR LIST WILL BE RELEASED

SEPTEMBER 29th MENTOR WISHLIST WILL BE RELEASED

OCTOBER 25th SUBMISSION WINDOW OPENS AT 10pm (EST)

OCTOBER 27th SUBMISSION WINDOW CLOSES AT 10pm (EST)

DECEMBER 1st MENTEE LIST WILL BE RELEASED

FEBRUARY 21st FINAL SHOWCASE SUBMISSION WINDOW OPENS

FEBRUARY 23rd FINAL SHOWCASE SUBMISSION WINDOW CLOSES

MARCH 22nd FINAL SHOWCASE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED
