Interview Questions:

Why did you choose to cover this song?

Riptide was the first song I learned how to play on the ukulele and, besides the ukulele being my favourite instrument, I love how the song can lift my mood in seconds. I always play it dancing around my room. I've been singing Riptide for so long I mess with the words like it's my own song - I always change "pretty girls" to "pretty boys", "left hand man" to "left hand girl" as you can see in the recording.

What does music means to you?

I like to think that music is a storytelling in melody. I love how some artists can guide me through the scenarios with different instruments and words and still make me feel like I was reading a book - or watching the story with my own eyes. Most days music is a expression for me: I write, I dance, I sing and I just live listening to it. I guess I can say music is like food to me: I have to listen to something right after I wake up and before I go to bed, and if I don't do it, I feel strange.

What do you love about performing?

I am a shy artist, that's why I always liked the silent way of showing my poems and books: I would just upload them to a website like tumblr or wattpad. No need to go up to a stage and talk about it. But when I started taking music classes, I saw myself in a stage, playing the acoustic guitar and singing some cool tune from 2014/2015. I'm still afraid of going on stage, but when I do it to sing, it feels really good.

Who/what are your major artistic influences?

It depends on the day, to be honest. Sometimes I listen to Billie Holiday all day, then the next morning I'm listening to the top tracks playlist on Spotify. I like to match my moods to the songs and artists, but usually some indie, jazz or rock vibes can describe me.
