@TheWatermarker
TheWatermarker is an amazing account, having written books such as 'Ice and Air' which has 42k reads, and 'Water and Earth' which has 5k. It was great to interview them and here is what they have to say!
Why did you start writing on Wattpad?
It is the simple reason of "I can't handle the story being stuck in my head all the time and daydreaming about it all day!"
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration usually comes from my head, mixed in with things that I experience or what I head or think about reality. It's kind of weird, don't you think?
How did it feel to hit 10k for the first time?
It felt like (yep, here goes another quote), "How did I get 10k reads? I've only been here for a few months..." but I feel grateful, especially to the readers who read it and gave me tips on how to improve it c:
What's the best part about writing on Wattpad?
Wattpad is just a really huge community of people with diverse writing skills and personalities and I am glad I get to be part of this community. Besides writing, I also discovered other skills that I never knew I have, especially graphic designing. If it weren't for Wattpad, I would've never found my skills that I do now on my down time.
Which genre is the most fun to write in?
Fantasy. It may sound hard to most writers but there are different ways to create your own world that is parallel to ours and once you have it created, you can just go on ahead with the story, just as long as you stay true to the basic elements of the genre. I also want to mention Teen Fiction, because now that I'm in high school, I'm more concentrated on the events that happen on campus and also on how the typical students act. Not sure about guys though because there are none who are students in my school :3
What's been your proudest moment on Wattpad?
This isn't related to writing at all because it involves more of the MDC (Multimedia Design Club). When I opened the first version of Neon Graphics last year, I thought it was going to be a flop like my attempted solos, duos, and a group, but it turned out to be a success. It was probably because of the designers' enthusiasm to the thread and their commitment to designing in general. I'm also thankful for that; if it weren't for them, I would still be trying too hard to make a thread really successful <3
And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?
A writer or a designer, don't be scared to try new things! Even if you think you're going to fail at this or that skill, keep doing what you do and soon, you'll get to where you want to be. Don't think about what others will think of you trying (whatever skill), only think of what you can achieve out of it. Just do it <3
