Why did you start writing in Wattpad?

For a long while, I was stuck with only two chapters written. I didn't feel confident to continue and I thought there was no way to share my work with the world. Then I discovered Wattpad and realised what a great way it is to share your work with anyone interested. So, I started writing before Wattpad, but joining gave me the audience I never thought I'd have. That's why I am continuing to write here.

Who are your biggest writing inspirations?

J. K. Rowling, hands down. I just love what she stands for- doing your work your way, no matter what others say, the depth of her character growth, the use of humour, just everything she does!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start writing SciFi?

I would advise them to work really hard on their characters. The tech, the science, that matters to a varying degree depending on the type of sci-fi you write, but the characters will always be the key to the reader's heart.

How did it feel to hit 1k for the first time?

It actually took me ages to get to that first 1k, so when I did, I was really excited. It's just amazing to know that people all over the world were interested enough to spend time reading my work.

What's the best part about writing on Wattpad?

By far, it is the two-way communication with readers. On Wattpad, you can see which chapters, characters or scenes provoke the most reaction from your readers. It can help you a lot in the future; you learn the impact of your words can have on there. Also, it is a nice reward- having everyone comment on that awesome cliffhanger or that funny line you were so proud of.

Do you have any books you're planning to write in the future?

I have so many project planned for the future. Firstly, I plan on writing book 3 in the Space Academy tripling. Then I have (hold onto your hats) 2 fantasy books- one duology in high fantasy and 1 standalone book in urban fantasy. Moreover, three SciFi projects, each of which could spread over 2-3 books. I have so many ideas and so little time.

And finally, what advice would you give to a new writer on Wattpad?

I would advise new writers to get involved in book clubs, writing contests, challenges and just about anything else on Wattpad. Your presence matters- it's your ticket for getting noticed.
