Kokonoe: It's not enough to just be heroic. Even being a clone of that hero is enough to be seen as a legend.

Junko: Like Saber, the King of Knights in Fate/Stay Night.

Ann: And Kirito, the King of Gamers in Sword Art Online.

Kokonoe: The stage is set and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

Kirito was standing on the roof of a large, white tower looking up at the blue sky. He turned to see Saber right behind him.

Kirito: Alice?

Saber: Not quite.

Kirito: Oh, my bad. You look like someone I know.

Saber: I can say the same. Your voice sounds very familiar.

Kirito: So, is there something you need?

Saber: ... The Holy Grail has summoned me to get rid of you. And so I shall.

Kirito: I see, so it's a fight you want. Alrighty then...

Kirito pulled out his black sword and got into a fighting stance.

Kirito: Bring it on!

Kirito dashed at her first and went for a horizontal slash. As soon as he did, Saber summoned her invisible sword and blocked it. She pushed his blade back and went for a swing of her own, but Kirito reacted quickly and used his sword to block her attack.

Kiritro: (An invisible weapon? This may be difficult.)

Saber pushed him back and swung her sword, unleashing a huge burst of wind. Kirito jumped to the side to dodge it before dashing at her. They both swung their swords and clashed.

Saber: (He's only using one hand... not only that but he hasn't touched his other sword. I need to be vigilant.)

Kirito moved his blade up on Sabers, trying to find what type of weapon it could be. Saber realized this and quickly pushed Kirito back. She dashed at him and swung her sword but he dodged it and swung his own. She tilted her head back to not get it cut off before spinning and blasting him with another burst of wind. Kirito jumped to the side to dodge it.

Kirito: System call: Generate Fire Element!

He fired multiple flaming birds at her. She swung her sword again, swatting the flames to the side as Kirito's blade extended and went to stab her. She quickly reacted and blocked the strike, pushing the blade upward before dashing at Kirito.

Saber: (An opening!)

She was about to swing her blade, but Kirito quickly grabbed his other sword and went for a downward slash of his own. Saber saw this and quickly blocked it as his black blade went back to normal. He swung it and Saber quickly jumped back as the blade managed to cut through her armor and shed some blood from her stomach. She felt the wound as it healed.

Saber: (Blood? I see... so he can cut through magic...)

Kirito got in a fighting stance, this time with both swords in hand as Saber stood up straight.

Saber: So, you finally took out that blue sword... is that your Noble Phantasm?

Kirito: Noble Phantasm? Sorry, I don't know what you mean. 

Saber: ... So you don't wish to tell me. Very well, I shall figure out myself!

She dashed at him and swung her sword. Kirito reacted by swinging both his swords and they clashed, creating a shockwave around them. They jumped back and Kirito dashed at her at an incredible speed. His black blade glowed as he thrust it at her and she quickly used her sword to block it though she was still knocked back. She nearly fell off the edge but managed to keep her balance before Kirito dashed at her again and swung his sword. Saber reacted quickly and jumped off the building, falling downward.

 She looked up as she saw Kirito jumping down after her. She then slid on the side of the building before jumping off it. A huge burst of wind erupted from her blade as she swung it at the tower, cutting the thing in half and causing it to collapse above both of them. Kirito saw this and quickly turned around. He grew wings and swung both his swords, blowing the upper half of the building into pieces. Saber quickly used the wind from her blade to boost herself up and land on a piece of rubble. She jumped from falling rock to falling rock as she jumped up at Kirito and swung her sword. He blocked it and pushed her straight into a giant chunk of rubble. She quickly recovered and jumped at him as he flew at her. His sword glowed again as he swung it, slicing into her chest and sending her falling straight into the ground, creating a giant crater. She coughed up blood as Kirito flew straight at her. She saw this and jumped out the way as he stabbed his blue sword straight into the ground. Saber's invisible sword then glowed and became visible.

Saber: EX... CALIBUR!!!

Her sword unleashed an incredibly powerful blast of light straight at Kirito, who quickly spun his sword at a high speed to make a spinning shield and bloke it. Once the light disappeared, Kirito dashed at her and they swung their blades, clashing again. 

Kirito: Finally decided to reveal your sword huh?!

He swung his other blade and she dodged it, swinging her blade and causing him to dodge as well. They swung their blades and clashed once more. Kirito swung the blue sword and Saber jumped back again before swinging her blade again. Kirito blocked it with both blades but was still sent flying back. He slid to his feet as Saber dashed at him and went for a horizontal slash. Kirito dodged it and went for a vertical slash that made her jump back, letting Kirito go for a downward slash with the other sword. Saber jumped to the side and swung her sword again and Kirito jumped back once more. His sword glowed and Saber immediately knew his sword was about to extend again. She was about to jump away but saw a bunch of vines in the ground clinging onto her foot.

Saber: What?!

Kirito: Enhance Armament!

A black spear of darkness erupted from his sword and he fired it off towards Saber, who quickly extended her arm. A scabbard appeared in front of her that became a portable fortress, protecting her from the blast. Once it had finished, she put down the fortress and raised her sword.

Saber: Ex-

Kirito: Not this time!

Kirito dashed at her and stabbed the blue sword straight into her chest, creating a burst of ice through her. Kirito then slashed upward with another ice blast and Saber coughed up blood as she fell to one knee.

Kirito: Sorry, but you never stood a chance.

He turned and stabbed his blade into the ground.

Kirito: Enhance Armament.

The ice blade froze the entire field into ice and was starting to freeze Saber's body.

Kirito: Bloom Blue Rose.

As the ice rose up to her neck, roses of ice started wrapping around her body.

Kirito: It's over. This ice will drain your life away in an instant... sorry, you stood no chance... Release.

The roses of ice turned into actual roses as Saber was fully encased in ice. But as she was, a black aura came out from the ice as she broke out in a huge burst of energy.

Kirito: What?!

He looked at her as she was in all black. Her body was paler and even her sword changed color as she was corrupted.

Saber(Alter): It will not be so easy.

Kirito sprouted wings and flew at her. She swung her sword and he dodged it, swinging his blades only for her to move to the side and avoid them as her mask was just barely grazed. He landed on his feet as Saber's blade unleashed a burst of darkness at him. A yellow shield blocked it for him as his black sword started to absorb stars from all over the place. They swung their blades and clashed, knocking each other back and creating a shockwave that destroyed the ice around them. Kirito quickly recovered and flew at her.

Kirito: Starburst Stream!

He started slashing at her with multiple strikes using both swords. She tried to jump away from him but he wouldn't let her. He finished the devastating 16-hit combo with a downward thrust that knocked Saber's mask clean off her face. She recovered quickly, gripped her sword, and swung it, cutting him clean in half. 

Kirito was still moving though as he swung the blue sword. Saber swung her blade as well, shattering his and sending him flying away. He stumbled onto the ground as his lower body quickly regenerated. He stood up as Saber had her blade charged again.

Saber(Alter): EXCALIBUR!!!

Kirito: Enhance... ARMAMENT!!!

They both fired their respective blasts from their swords and clashed, creating a giant explosion between them before Saber's beam quickly overwhelmed Kirito's. It blasted him away as he started screaming in pain and was obliterated into nothingness. Saber stood there quietly, looking at the destruction that unfolded.

Saber(Alter): I respect you as a swordsman...

She stabbed her sword into the ground.

Saber(Alter): Not as a king!

Junko: Then Saber took over and we all lived happily ever after... maybe.

Kokonoe: This was a tough one to decide and Kirito himself did have his own advantages. He had more abilities to work with, more experience under his belt, and a slightly better healing factor.

Ann: But none of it was truly enough to put Saber down. First, he does have plenty of magic but stuff like that wasn't gonna work on Saber.

Junko: Yeah, she has magic resistance down to a capital T. And while Kirito does have a bit of reality warping, but Saber has resistance to that too...

Kokonoe: And while it is true Kirito has dodged light before, Saber is still much faster, being compared to Gilgamesh and Nero, both of whom have been shown to reach up to 1.19 sextillion times the speed of light.

Junko: Of course, this isn't including the Fate/Stay Night Saber. She'd still be slightly faster even though her powers would decrease by a lot do to an insufficient amount of mana... which is why we focused more on FGO than FSN.

Ann: He does have Blue Rose, which can kill anyone it freezes using its Full Counter Art, but Saber's already resisted similar things in the past. In fact, it doesn't really do anything but slow her down.

Kokonoe: And even though Kirito's healing factor was better, it wasn't perfect. Other Admin's in the past have shown to be easily killed so long as they're obliterated until there's nothing left, and Saber had the means of doing just that.

Junko: In the end Kirito wasn't the big star of the show and has to relinquish his crown to the true king.

Kokonoe: The winner is Saber Artoria.
