Junko: A new Blazblue character has come to Death Battle! Oh great Kokonoe, please share your knowledge!

Kokonoe: Well actually... even by my knowledge, not much is known of Azrael's past. All I can tell you is he's apart of the 7th agency and spends most of his life seeking out strong opponents to fight.

Ann: Really? That's all?

Kokonoe: Well, I one time managed to imprison him in a cell called the cryogenic prison, which put him into a cryostasis and unable to escape... but he was eventually released from his prison by the 7th Agency higher ups in order to get rid of Ragna.

Junko: Lemme guess, he wanted revenge over you ever since?

Kokonoe: Yep...

Junko: Thought so! Well, Azrael is incredibly strong! But before we get into his physical stats, let's talk about the Enchant Dragunov!

Kokonoe: This is a limiters that Azrael imposed on himself to make his fights more fun.

Junko: At level 1, he can go against the Black Knight Kagura, Ragna the Bloodedge without the Azure Grimoire, and a casual Hades: Izanami.

Ann: Level 2 allows him to put up a fight against Ragna while using the Azure Grimoire.

Kokonoe: And while level 4's power is unknown, it managed to let him survive an all-out attack from Jin Kisaragi, whose blade can reach up to Absolute Zero degrees.

Junko: Yeah, Azrael is incredibly strong!

Ann: Right. Azrael has monstrous strength that makes him nigh-invincible in the Blazblue universe. With a single stomp, he managed to shift space! And he's even torn through a dimensional barrier with his bare hands! Only the strongest people in the verse have managed to make him budge more than an inch. And if his opponent isn't strong enough, their blades won't even pierce his skin!

Junko: Now, onto Azrael's drive, The Terror.

Kokonoe:This ability basically allows him to create weak spots in his enemies defenses. After striking the weak spots, he will deal more damage than normal and said weak spot will disappear after one strike.

Ann: His special attacks include the Gustav Buster.

Ann: Which is a powerful right-hook covered with red energy.

Junko: Then there's the Tiger Magnum, where he delivers a powerful strike to the face, followed by a high kick and a potent clothesline punch!

Kokonoe: There's also his Growler Field.

Kokonoe: This let's him absorb incoming projectiles and launch them back as a fireball.

Ann: After that is his Sentinel Dump!

Junko: You know... I can make soo many shit jokes with this one.

Ann: This is when he jumps and slams the ground, sitting atop his opponent.

Kokonoe: And the Valient Crush.

Kokonoe: Where Azrael delivers a forward-leaning back-turning push kick with his leg covered in red energy. It can be followed by Valiant Charger, where he charges at the enemy.

Ann: And he has Hornet Bunker!

Ann: Where he performs a table-flipping motion strike of red darkness and launches the opponent in the air! It can be followed by Hornet Chaser, which is a homing jump.

Kokonoe: And finally the Panzer Strike.

Kokonoe: Which has Azrael bring the opponent to the air with a knee strike then slam down on them.

Junko: And now it's finally time for his Overdrive, Distortion Drives, and Exceed Accel!

Junko: Starting with his Overdrive, Mental Colossus! Which increases the power of his Distortion Drives!

Ann: It also makes it so that the weak spots that The Terror makes don’t disappear even after being hit, for the duration of the Overdrive state. It lasts longer the closer to death Azrael is.

Kokonoe: Then there's one of his Distortion Drives, Scub Punishment, where he delivers a one-inch punch before performing a palm strike that shoots out energy through the target.

Junko: The other is Black Hawk Stinger! Where he delivers a powerful hook while charging forward!

Ann: And his Exceed Accel is Full Spartan! Where he delivers a powered up hook, followed by a high kick, another kick, and an aerial punch!

Junko: But of course, it wouldn't be Blazblue without a badass Astral Finish! And Azrael's is Patriot Apocalypse!

Junko: Where Azrael removes all his limiters! He knocks the opponent onto the ground with one punch before launching them along with the ground into the sky! Then, he proceeds to punch this chunk of ground, causing a massive explosion of energy!

Kokonoe: But despite all his power, Azrael does have his limits.

Kokonoe: Right. For starters, Azrael's fighting style is simple and predictable. To put it in Kagura's words, it's like a child throwing a tantrum.

Junko: That's tough since the scar on his right arm functions as a weak spot. He also isn't able to hurt anyone unwilling to fight. If he does, he'll end up paralyzed.

Ann: It doesn't help that his restraints can hold him back against much stronger fighters.

Junko: But hey, sometimes you gotta let this big guy enjoy his feast!

Azrael: I’ll use your body to teach you…the most powerful and wicked violence there is!
