Kokonoe: It's almost hard to live a life where you can have someone touch your skin without them nearly dying on you, but these two lovely ladies know how to make it work.

Junko: Poison Ivy, the deadly plant girl of DC.

Kokonoe: And Rogue, the absorber of Marvel.

Junko: She's Kokenoe and I'm Rogue.

Kokonoe: The analysis is complete and the combatants are ready.

Junko: It's time for a Death Battle!

Rogue was flying above the city. She looked down to see the entire thing being destroyed by plants.

Rogue: What in the world is goin' on down there?

Rogue saw Poison Ivy sitting on a large vine with a flower in her hand as she was looking at at all the humans.

Poison Ivy: Hmph. Such pitiful beings, roaming around my land. The earth belongs to plants!

As more plants destroyed the city, Rogue flew down to confront her.

Rogue: Hey! What do you think you're doing?

Poison Ivy: Is it not obvious? I'm getting rid of all the pathetic humans in this city. Don't worry, you'll join them soon.

Rogue: Not if ah can do anything about it!

Rouge dashed at her and went to punch her but Poison Ivy dodged easily. Rogue went for another punch but Ivy dodged again. Rogue went for a kick but Ivy caught it. She dropped it to the ground and went for a kick of her own. Rogue quickly used her arms to block it as she was sent back.

Poison Ivy: Hmph. Pathetic.

Ivy swatted her hand and a hedge monster the shape of an elephant ran up to Rogue and tried to squash her, but Rogue quickly jumped back and blast it away.

Poison Ivy: Gah! What?!

Rogue: A little something ah picked up a long time ago. You like it?

Poison Ivy: Tch.

Vines came up from under Rogue and she quickly flew away.

Poison Ivy: So, she's a metahuman. Hmph, it's fine. I'll deal with you quickly.

Two trees picked up two giant buildings and went  to smash Rogue between them. Rogue flew out the way quickly to dodge them. Rogue then flew at Ivy and went to punch her, but right before her fist could punch her face, a vine wrapped around her arm tight and held her back. Rogue went to try to use her other fist but a vine grabbed that arm too.

Rogue: Tch!

Poison Ivy: Now then, let's get rid of this cute little face.

Poison Ivy went to lift her chin up, but as soon as she touched her skin, she felt her powers being absorbed and quickly let go.

Poison Ivy: What the?

The vines released Rogue as she was now in control of them.

Rogue: Sorry sugar, but ah'll be borrowing your powers for a minute.

Before Ivy could respond, a vine swatted her straight into a building.

Poison Ivy: Huh?!

Rogue dashed at her and went to punch her. Ivy blocked it with her arms and went for a kick. Rogue quickly got back to dodge it and Ivy threw a pumpkin at her. The pumpkin exploded in Rogue's face but the venom coming out wasn't affecting her, but it did buy Ivy time to run to a different building to take cover. Rogue looked up to see Ivy wasn't in sight.

Rogue: Ah'm not letting you go that easily!

Rogue flew around to find her. Ivy walked into the building and took an elevator that brought her to the roof of it. She pulled out two seeds.

Poison Ivy: Neither will I.

Ivy dropped the seeds down the building and two gigantic man-eating plants came out and wrapped around it. Rogue saw this and saw Ivy. She quickly flew to her. Ivy pulled out a crossbow and shot Rogue straight in the shoulder, causing her to fall right behind Ivy. Rogue got up and pulled the arrow out of her shoulder. Poison Ivy started shooting the crossbow and Rogue started dodging the arrows. She dashed at Ivy and quickly kicked the crossbow out her hand. She then kicked Ivy back hard and sent an energy blast at her. Poison Ivy went to dodge as it blasted her left arm clean off.

Poison Ivy: Gah! You son of a bitch!

Rogue dashed at Ivy but Ivy grabbed a seed and threw it at her. Vines came out the seed, quickly binding Rogue tight.

Poison Ivy: Hmph. What a pitiful sight.

Rogue quickly headbutted Ivy, knocking her back.

Poison Ivy: Gah!

Rogue broke out the binding and dashed at Ivy. Poison Ivy shot a wooden dart from her hand and it went straight through Rogue's leg. Rogue took the pain and got closer to Ivy. She grabbed Ivy by the face.

Rogue: Night-Night sugar.

Rogue kissed Ivy in the lips. Poison Ivy then proceeded to kiss her back passionately. As they were kissing, their eyes widened. Rogue's face started turning pale as her lips turned green and bloody tears came down her eyes as she was paralyzed. Ivy was also turning pale as her veins were starting to show and she quickly pushed Rogue away, causing Rogue to fall off the building and Ivy's man-eating plants grabbed her. They started ripping her to shreds before eating her, letting their acid stomachs finish her off. Ivy was breathing heavily as she was exhausted. She laid down and with her powers gone, she passed out with a smile on her face.

Junko: Damn. A lot of people were rooting for Rogue too.

Kokonoe: And in all honesty, it could have gone either way as this was an extremely close match. Both combatants have had experience with superhumans and have displayed equal experience and have expert skills in combat. They've also been able to equally take on heavy hitters like Juggernaut and Supergirl. In all honesty, it could have become a tie.

Junko: But here we go by, "out of 9 battles who can win the most" so we couldn't do that unless absolutely necessary. So, what does Ivy have that Rogue didn't?

Kokonoe: Well for starters, while Poison Ivy is skilled at hand to hand, she much prefers a long ranged moveset. This does make it difficult for someone like Rogue, whose mostly a close ranged fighter herself.

Junko: This also goes into Ivy's intelligence. Poison Ivy is a quick thinker, especially when in a pinch. As soon as she figured she couldn't touch her skin, Ivy knew she needed to use as many long ranged attacks as she could to make it difficult for Rogue to get up close. This wasn't too big of a problem thanks to similar battles with other hand to hand fighters like Catwoman and Batman.

Kokonoe: And finally, we get to the big question. Which is more deadly? Poison Ivy's venomous kiss or Rouge's deadly touch.

Junko: And to that, we provide no real answer. Both have shown to be very deadly and have three side effects to the victim. For Poison Ivy, it was they either get hypnotized, paralyzed, or killed. For Rogue, they loose energy, het knocked unconscious, or die depending on how long she touches them.

Kokonoe: "How long" being the key factor, as instead of deciding which one was more deadly, we decided to look at which one helps deliver the killing blow first.

Junko: When it comes to killing, multiple variations of Ivy's kiss are either instantaneous or take a bit of time for the poison to kick in after the kiss is done. Meanwhile her hypnotic and paralyzing abilities are almost always the faster method.

Kokonoe: And thanks to Rogue's ability needing time before it gets deadly, Ivy just needed to endure long enough for one of the effects to take place. Something Ivy is fully capable of thanks to surviving similar situations. Like when she endured an industrial grade dehydrator or when she spent weeks without sunlight or water.

Junko: Okay, but couldn't Rogue just take her immunity to poison?

Kokonoe: While that is true, the abilities she takes are temporary so the poison will still affect her eventually. Also, Poison Ivy has other ways of inserting her poison and has even beaten others immune to her poison before, like Harley Quinn and Scarecrow.

Junko: Ah yes, Harley Quinn. Her best friend slash lover. She'll definitely be making an appearance in a future Death Battle.

Kokonoe: Anyway, both combatants were evenly matched and made this battle go either way, but Ivy's intelligence and larger arsenal helped her win more times than not.

Junko: Looks like this passionately battle kissed it's way to the top of the bean stock.

Kokonoe: I doubt anyone is paying attention to your terrible puns...

Junko: Meh. Best not to leave them with green balls.

Kokonoe: *sigh*... The winner is Poison Ivy...

Junko: Next time on Death Battle!
