Kenpachi is here for the fight in Death Battle

Name: Kenpachi Zaraki

Origin: Bleach

Gender: Male

Height: 6'7½"

Weight: 198 Ibs

Age: Unknown (Likely 600-700 years old)

Classification: Shinigami, Captain of 11th Division

Kokonoe: Having gave himself his surname after the place he used to reside in, which just so happened to be a town of murder and thieves, not much is known about Zaraki's life. However, everything in it changed when he took the Zanpakutō of a dead shinigami and made it his own. During that time he eventually became a proficient swordsman, killing numerous opponents.

Junko: Sometime during this, Zaraki came upon Yachiru Unohana, who at the time was the very first kenpachi. The two of them had a fierce fight. This fight marked the first time he ever felt fear, and subsequently the first time he ever enjoyed battle. After he lost to her, he began to admire and fight like her.

Kokonoe: Later on as a young man, Zaraki came across a nameless young girl. Reminding him of himself as a kid, he decided to name her Yachiru, in remembrance to the only person he admired who showed no fear in his sword. And from then on, he took on the name Kenpachi Zaraki, the title bestowed upon the strongest Shinigami in every generation.

Junko: Eventually, he'll become captain of the 11th division of the Gotei 13, and man was he a huge aspect to the group!

Kokonoe: First, he has his Zanpakutō, Nozarashi.

Kokonoe: The same sword taken from the dead Shinigami, this blade has seen it's fair share of battles over the years.

Junko: Yeah, unlike most other captains, Kenpachi doesn't have too many special abilities. In fact, for a long time, he didn't need any, at least not at the time. But one day, he mastered a move so great nobody has ever thought of it before!

Kokonoe: What is it?

Junko: Ryōdan!

Junko: Where instead of using his sword with one hand, he swings it with even greater power! Who knew that using two hands with one blade would be so effective!

Kokonoe: Well, at least it gets the job done. It was strong enough to split Nnoitra in half with ease, whose own body was harder than steel. Oh, I should also mention that Kenpachi has immeasurable spiritual power, or Reiryoku.

Junko: Reiryoku? I thought it was Reiatsu.

Kokonoe: Well, not really. Reiatsu is spiritual energy while Reiryoku is spiritual pressure. The differences of the two are simple. Reiryoku is the amount of energy one has stored within their body or soul, while Reiatsu is the pressure that a person's Reiryoku exerts.

Junko: In other words, Reiryoku is potential while Reiatsu is that potential in use.

Kokonoe: Right, and even by captain standards, Kenpachi's Reiryoku is monstrous. So much so that even while wearing his energy-sealing eyepatch, his prowess is not noticeably hindered as he is still able to fight two captain-level opponents at once who were both using their Bankai.

Junko: A Bankai is the second upgrade to a Zanpakutō, but we'll get to that later. Anyway, the intensity of Kenpachi's Reiryoku as a sort of armor.

Junko: This armor makes it impossible for him to be harmed by anyone unless they are at the same level of power or stronger than him.

Kokonoe: He also has unruly Reiatsu control.

Kokonoe: By his own admission, Kenpachi has poor control of his spiritual energy as it constantly remains very potent, forcing him to rely on his eyepatch to keep it at a more manageable level.

Junko: Despite this, he is able to make liberal use of it in a variety of ways. It can affect large areas, spanning miles, and cause others within that area to enter a state of paralysis and confusion.

Kokonoe: When exerting his energy, the sheer magnitude of Kenpachi's energy can cause considerable damage, destroying the area around him and launching away weaker opponents. Likewise, this can repel or disrupt most enemy attacks and abilities.

Junko: With his spiritual energy he can create massive shockwaves and even bigger energy waves.

Kokonoe: He's also very skilled at hand to hand.

Kokonoe: While he prefers to use his sword in battle, , Kenpachi has proven several times to be very dangerous while barehanded, showing considerably effective brawling prowess. He can easily catch an opponent's attack with a single hand, perform powerful punches and kicks, and easily subdue opponents with throws and take-downs.

Junko: Oh but we haven't even gotten to the best part! First being his Shikai!

Kokonoe: Right, before Kenpachi even knew the name of his Zanpakutō, it was believed by the Soul Society that Kenpachi's overwhelming Reiatsu was forcing Nozarashi into a constantly released state due to its more elaborate design.

Junko: But now that he can hear the voice of his Zanpakutō, he can finally use his Shikai. With the release command being "drink", Nozarashi takes on the form of a great war cleaver.

Kokonoe: In its released state, Kenpachi's power is so immense that it can cut through almost anything with ease.

Junko: Giant hand made of iron? Pretty random but okay. Magma? Doesn't stand a chance. Giant meteor that can destroy an entire continent? Cut it like butter.

Kokonoe: Apparently, his blade is so powerful it can cut through the vaccum of space itself. A feat that shouldn't even be possible.

Junko: And then we get to his Bankai!

Junko: Upon activation, Kenpachi's Bankai releases a huge wave of energy powerful enough to level nearby buildings. In this form, Kenpachi's skin turns red, and he gains multiple black markings across his face and horns on his forehead, causing him to resemble an oni. His blade becomes an altered version of its Shikai state, with a shorter, more jagged blade resembling a rough cleaver.

Kokonoe: Kenpachi's Bankai grants him tremendous strength and cutting power, allowing him to effortlessly topple a gigantic Gerard Valkyrie with a single blow, rip off his arm in a single motion, and cut him completely in half from a considerable distance. While in his Bankai, Kenpachi becomes a mindless berserker, acting without conciousness or regard for his own life.

Junko: Yeah, the other downside is that if his  Bankai releases more power than his body can handle, his body will literally break under pressure.

Kokonoe: Still, when it comes to battle, nobody enjoys the thrill of the fight more than Kenpachi Zaraki.

Kenpachi: Never admit defeat and ask for a quick death! Die first, then admit defeat! If you are defeated but didn't die, it just means you were lucky! At those times, think only about survival! Survive and think only about killing the one who failed to kill you!
