Kokonoe: The story of Jiren is actually different in both the anime and manga. But no matter which one you looked at, both result in Jiren's master dying and Jiren himself joining the Pride Troopers.

Junko: Seeking strength on his own, Jiren suddenly became so powerful he grew bald and started one punching everyone!

Kokonoe: That's not how it worked but he definitely made his name known as the strongest mortal alive.

Junko: And he definitely lived up to it in his own sort of way. I mean, this guy's mere power alone rivals and probably even surpasses that of Goku. The mere shockwave of his punch was enough to one shot Maji-Kayo, the weird stretchy blue alien.

Kokonoe: Now how about we get to Jiren's moveset. Like almost all Dragon Ball characters, Jiren can fly. Though combined with his speed, he can make almost any spaceship useless for traveling from one planet to another.

Junko: Jiren can also increase his combat abilities by focusing on his ki.

Kokonoe: Much like chakra from Naruto, ki is a form of spiritual energy found in all living things. And Jiren's control over it is remarkably high, able to summon tremendous amounts instantly and with no visible effort.

Junko: He can use his ki to do things like shoot ki blasts.

Junko: This is a basic technique that many can use. But when Jiren uses it, he makes it powerful enough to send Ultra Instinct Goku flying.

Kokonoe: Jiren can also sense the Ki of others. He can even see the ki of Gods of destruction, beings so powerful only other gods can sense their ki.

Junko: Another thing he can do with his ki is his signature move, Power Impact.

Junko: This has Jiren shoot a Ki blast in the form of a fireball out his hand that's at first the size of a bomb, but ends up expanding massively upon impact.

Kokonoe: Wait, didn't Broly do that?

Junko: ... Nah. Anyway, Jiren can also use his ki for energy punches.

Junko: By charging his fist with red Ki, Jiren can launch powerful punches powerful enough to eradicate Goku's kamehameha attack even when Goku is a Super Sayian God.

Kokonoe: Jiren's ki can also protect him from considerably weaker attacks using a Power Barrier.

Kokonoe: This barrier is strong enough to block the attacks of Goku's kamehameha, Vegeta's Final Flash, and Android 17's energy blast all at once.

Kokonoe: Jiren's ki isn't the only thing that makes him powerful. This is him attacking Goku with multiple powerful punches at a speed so fast, that to another's perspective he isn't moving at all.

Junko: Jesus Christ! Well, he also has another move called Overheat Magnetron, which sounds like something straight out of Transformers.

Junko: This has him charge at his opponents with a barrage of punches and blast them away with a powerful impact. He then appears behind them and punches them straight into the ground

Kokonoe: But if his back is ever truly in a corner, he has a transformation of his own, Limit Breaker Jiren...

Kokonoe: By awakening the hidden power from within, Jiren gets into his most powerful state yet.

Junko: This state allowed him to go toe to toe with ultra instinct Goku and even overwhelm the guy! And he even makes Overheat Magnetron evolve into Heatwave Magnetron!

Junko: Letting him shoot humungous ki blast from his hands instantaneously! Honestly can anything beat this guy?!

Kokonoe: Well he can be overwhelmed with enough power. Which was the case when Goku, Frieza, and 17 all fought him at once, finally getting him to accept the first defeat in his life.

Junko: But even then, at the end of the day, the thought of any one man who could take this guy seemed impossible.

Jiren: Strength is justice! Strength is absolute! All is meaningless without victory! To be defeated is to lose everything! Just like then... I won't go through that ever again!
