Akame: The Crow... a bird that symbolizes death, danger, misfortune, and illness. But sometimes there are deaths so bad that even Death itself will bring you back to life to get your revenge. This has happened to several people, but today we focus on the first and original soul, Eric Daven.

Junko: Yeah, Eric was just a young musician who was more than likely thought he belonged in KISS. He was having a loving time with his girlfriend/fiance, Shelly. The two of them lived a pretty normal and peaceful life... yep... peaceful... until it wasn't.

Dizzy: Right... what happened this time?

Junko: Oh nothing much. I mean, he was just having a lovely day until a bunch of thugs broke into his apartment, beat him up, and forced him to watch as they raped his girlfriend. Then threw him out the window and blew up his house with his girlfriend inside. You know... your typical Tuesday. His girlfriend died by the way.

Dizzy: Jesus...

Akame: And yet, after being dead for a year, Eric returned to life, along with new powers and a thirst for vengeance.

Junko: He's basically a mix between Joker and Batman and he can definitely pull it off!

Junko: He's incredibly strong, capable of smashing and bending steel, flipping over cars, ripping the windshield from a car, punching through the glass of a shark tank, and manhandling two guys with each hand! He's even ripped apart netting with his bare hands! He's taken down a bar full of thugs, fended off multiple nazis as a crow, stalemated a demon from Hell, and even took on a physical representation of Death itself!

Dizzy: He seems to show professional swat training during combat and is a skilled boxer too. Another Crow named Joshua had shrugged off a hit from a submarine train and Eric should be capable of doing the same. Not only has he tanked a hit from a big rig truck, but he's also shrugged off all manner of gunfire, stab wounds, and explosions. He doesn't feel pain and is immune to decay as well as diseases, toxins, and poisons.

Akame: He's also fast enough to outpace cops, run across rooftops, and dodge incoming vehicles and bullets. He has cat-like reflexes, jumping on helicopters before they can fly away, making large leaps on rooftops, and even jumping off a train and onto another street.

Junko: Despite his killer demeanor, Eric is a nonchalant and calm person who is, at the same time, thirsty for all manner of vengeance. He's very loving and passive to innocents, but has no mercy towards murderers and won't hesitate to kill to get the job done.

Akame: He's an expert swordsman.

Akame: He's shown incredible skill with a blade, casually taking down a trained swordsman and easily taking out a boat of crew members.

Junko: He has his own katana, but he also has some knives at his disposal. But his favorite weapons are his guns!

Dizzy: Right, Eric has amazing skills with all manner of firearms. Even with knives, he's exceptionally skilled. He an apple at someone's face and then threw three knives at the same apple. He caught a knife with his hand and landed a close-up headshot of an armed guy.

Junko: His main guns are a Mossberg 500 Cruiser, a Smith & Wesson Model 629, and a Taurus PT92. He also has some gasoline and explosives.

Dizzy: Every Crow has shown a measure of inherent skill when brought back to life to help exact revenge. No matter the background the Crow had in life. Whether a businessman, musician, artist, medicine man, or simple store clerk they all show skills comparable with most special forces operatives.

Akame: With that in mind, let's talk about the crow.

Junko: Not Eric, but the bird that follows him around!

Akame: All Crows have a connection to their crow benefactors and Eric is no different. The bird itself acts as a guide and informant on all things dealing with the dead. It feeds Eric information on the foe he's about to fight and warns him of unseen danger.

Junko: And it's the source of the Crow's powers! Like superhuman senses, allowing him to see long distances and even in the dark! He also has a healing factor!

Dizzy: Right. Eric's healing factor is incredible, being able to heal his entire body from boiling water. He's also healed from multiple gunshot wounds on multiple occasions and explosions that engulfed him in flames. He even healed his hand after it was mutilated twice! 

Junko: He can also read minds!

Dizzy: Sorta. All Crows can read and feel what others have experienced by touch.

Junko: He can use this to read people's minds, make someone turn their life over, or even instill fear and pain in his victims!

Akame: Eric can also summon crows.

Akame: And ability he's used only a handful of times. He can summon a murder of crows when desperate or when he wants to attack and shred a foe. Another Crow named Joshua had used this ability to instill fear in his foes.

Dizzy: Lastly, Eric can shape-shift into crows.

Akame: At will, the Crow can transform into a crow and possess all of that creature's natural abilities, including flight and night vision. Another Crow named Ashe has even turned into a murder of birds to shred an immortal target.

Dizzy: But this doesn't mean he's immune to a second death. 

Junko: Yeah, the Crow is emotionally unstable, showing fits of tears, rage, and bloodlust, resulting in self-mutilation and drug abuse. He's also insane, which can distort some of his choices and fracture his emotional state rendering him incapacitated. 

Akame: His healing factor also has a limit. For example, he can't heal wounds he inflicts on himself.

Dizzy: And if the crow that follows Eric around all the time is wounded, Eric or any other Crow Avatar will also be wounded. Like all The Crow Avatars, Eric will lose his powers and abilities once he finishes his goal for vengeance or if he abandons the mission of vengeance, though returning to the mission regains it.

Junko: Still you gotta admit, Eric is one crow of vengeance you don't want hunting you down.

Eric: People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right.
