Kokonoe: Doctor Gerald Robotnick was the grandfather of Ivo Robotnick, aka Dr.Eggman. He was also the niece of oneMaria Robotnick who wasn't nearly as evil as her... nephew... I think? Regardless she was suffering from a terrible disease that would eventually take her life.

Junko: Because of this, Gerald over here decided to use alien DNA to form the Ultimate Lifeform in order to save her life! This powerful Hedgehog was... Shadow the Hedgehog!

Ann: So I get why he made him use Chaos Control. After all, the Chaos Emeralds hold a lot of power... but why a Hedgehog?

Kokonoe: Who knows? Regardless, tragedy strikes when the government would learn of Shadow's existence and try and destroy him. In the end, Maria sacrificed her life to save him. 

Junko: Well so much for curing her huh? And so after like 50 years he woke up on Earth and decided to destroy everyone on it... until he had a change of heart, fell from orbit, and died. But don't worry, he came back as good as new with no memory of who he once was.

Kokonoe: Memory or no memory, Shadow was incredibly powerful.

Kokonoe: He can easily push back the skyscraper-sized Final Mova. He's flipped large objects and vehicles, plowed through metal and robots with ease, and has even traded blows with Knuckles.

Junko: Knuckles the Echidna is strong enough to not only push the moon, but punch the Chaos Emeralds out of Super Sonic in his base form, and Shadow has been shown similar feats. Not only that, but he's durable enough to take hits from both Knuckles and Sonic. He's shrugged off bullets and lasers, tanked point-blank explosions, and has even survived falling from orbit with nothing but a small case of amnesia.

Kokonoe: As far as speed is concerned, he can easily break the sound barrier. He can dodge lasers, gunfire, and much more. His speed is comparable to Sonic's, who in his base form can run over 54x the speed of light. However, Shadow has admitted that Sonic was the faster of the two.

Junko: But what he lacked in speed, he made up for in power and ego.

Kokonoe: Shadow is kinda the serious type. He's incredibly smart though, being placed at an IQ of 170 on a test from the G.U.N. in 06.

Ann: He's the opposite of Sonic, personality-wise. To put it simply, he's a "lone wolf" who distances himself from Sonic and his friends. However, he always knows what to say in a fight. And most importantly, he doesn't bluff. If he makes a threat, he has every intention of carrying it out. Even if he needs to use guns to do so!

Ann: That's right! Shadow is one of the very few characters that realized the easiest way to get the job done is by putting a bullet through your foe's head! Shadow has a pistol, a Sub-Machine gun, a Grenade Launcher, a Laser gun, and even a Shadow Rifle which one-shots almost any foe that gets in his way! He has an Omochao gun that fires Omochaos and 

Junko: He also has his swords!

Ann: True, Shadow is an expert swordsman and is just as good with a sword as he is with a gun. His most notable sword is a Samurai Blade that can cut through almost anything. He also has survival knives and a black sword that boosts his speed and power.

Kokonoe: But his most powerful weapons are the Chaos Emeralds. 

Kokonoe: Seven ancient emeralds that hold an almost unlimited supply of power. Just one of these things is enough to let Shadow use Chaos Control.

Kokonoe: Shadow's most noteworthy ability. This lets him teleport, slow down time, stop time to a halt, and even travel back in time. Though the last bit requires another person capable of Chaos Control like Sonic or Silver.

Ann: He can also use it to distort time and space, creating miniature explosions or even distortions around his fist for an enhanced physical attack. Hell, he can even use it to banish his opponents. He can fire energy projectiles with Chaos Spear or create a giant explosion with Chaos Blast.

Junko: Shadow also has a few attacks that belong to Sonic, like the Spindash, Homing Attack, and Boost. But he doesn't show his true power until he takes off those rings, boosting his power.

Junko: In this state, his Chaos Spear becomes Chaos Lance and he can do Chaos Blast whenever he wants! Though the form itself only lasts 30 seconds and isn't nearly as strong as when he uses all seven Chaos Emeralds to become Super Shadow!

Kokonoe: In this form, Shadow is incredibly powerful, gaining a 1000x boost in his speed and strength. He's lifted the 915,000,000-ton Black Comet and even knocked out Super Sonic, who holds enough power to destroy entire planets. 

Junko: This form was enough to take out Solaris, who nearly erased the past, present, and future! Shadow becomes completely invulnerable to almost all damage and even gains new techniques like the Spears of Light and Chaos Arrow!

Kokonoe: But he does have his weaknesses in the end.

Kokonoe: Shadow can be quite arrogant and cocky. He also does tend to struggle with mental attacks, though this does get nullified so long as he has a Chaos Emerald. 

Junko: Also, Shadow's Super Transformation does have a time limit of at least 10 to 15 minutes but he can be knocked back to his base form with a powerful enough attack.

Ann: But even if the world turns against him, he will fight like he always has. Because he is Shadow... Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow: I'm Shadow the Hedgehog, and I made a promise that I intend to keep! with the power of these Emeralds, Black Doom and his army are finished! This is WHO I AM.
