Junko: Ryuko Matoi had a pretty basic life of an anime protagonist. She goes to school and got into fights ever since she was a child and is a pretty badass tomboy who never gets up. And to add a cherry on top, her daddy died at the hands of one half of a scissor blade! No anime protag is complete without a dead parental figure!

Ann: So of course, Ryuko took that scissor blade and vowed to find the other half and kill the person who murdered her father.

Junko: And so she applied to the one school that could give her answers, Hinojo Academy! And after getting her ass kicked and thrown into the sewers, she managed to get her hands on a nice little Goku Uniform called Senketsu!

Kokonoe: A living Kamui made from life fibers and Ryuko's own DNA. He helps Ryuko come up with strategies on the fly and feeds off her blood to help her transform. He can also absorb life fibers to become stronger.

Junko: Senketsu can take many forms, but his base transformation makes Ryuko incredibly strong.

Junko: She can easily rip through solid stone, slice apart buildings, and create massive shockwaves!

Ann: She's clashed with foes like Raygo and Nui, who ripped the S.S. Naked Sun. And even without Senketsu, she can slice apart two far away buildings with air pressure alone.

Kokonoe: She's also incredibly fast.

Kokonoe: Easily capable of moving faster than sound. She can create afterimages of herself and even move faster than the eye can see.

Ann: She can blitz Nui, dodge and catch missiles, and cut dozens of tennis balls into tiny strings within seconds!

Junko: And finally she's really durable!

Kokonoe: Right. When wearing Senketu, Ryuko's body becomes as hard as steel. She's survived an attack that caused a tower to collapse, taken hits from the likes of Satsuki and Raygo, survived a massive explosion that destroyed a large dome, and has even survived a fall from orbit.

Ann: She's also taken hits from her friend, Mako, who can create massive craters with her fist.

Junko: To top it all off, it's revealed that Ryuko was infused with Life-Fibers during her birth! As a result, even if you get past her iron body, you still have to deal with her healing factor!

Junko: That's right. Her healing factor should be similar to Raygo's, who can survive decapitation. In fact, Ryuko was once cut in half and survived because one life fiber was still attached. She can even have her heart torn out and it will be just fine.

Ann: But she needs to be careful to keep her emotions in check. Otherwise, she might enter Berserk Mode.

Ann: This basically brings her into a state of blinding rage, greatly increasing Ryuko's strength at the cost of making her more reckless and having Senketsu drink more of her blood than necessary at a faster rate.

Junko: Senketsu has other... safer modes as well, like Senjin Mode.

Junko: This mode gives Senketsu a lot more spikes that can move like a chainsaw! It also gives Ryuko a nice pair of Wolverine claws!

Ann: And there's Shippu Mode.

Ann: Which turns her skirt into a jet for flight.

Junko: There's also Senjin Shippu Mode.

Junko: Which is basically a combination of them both.

Kokonoe: But her strongest transformation is Kisaragi Mode.

Junko: She pretty much turns Super Saiyan! This form increases her powers even more and let's her fly without the need of Shippu Mode! She can even breathe in space!

Ann: Her main weapons are her scissor blades.

Ann: After beating her fathers killer, Ryuko managed to get both the scissor blades back! These things are made of hardened life-fibers and she can separate the blades to duel weild them! She can also change the size of the blades from super small to Alumni Mode!

Ann: The left scissor blade is known as Farewell Address Mode, the right scissor blade is named the Student Response Mode. This is the final form of the Scissor Blades, making them brow big enough to slice through the Honnōji Academy Final Defense Apparatus!

Kokonoe: Ryuko has also learned to mentally put her mind at ease under great pressure, letting her use a technique called Senketsu Mubyoshi.

Kokonoe: Which allows Ryuko to be turned into a human tuning fork and redirect a noise blast from Nonon Jakuzure.

Junko: And there's her finishing move... SEN-I-SOSH-ITSU!

Junko: Where she slashes at her opponent, knocking them out and slicing their clothes into multiple pieces!

Kokonoe: But she has her moments of weakness.

Junko: On her own, Ryuko is hot-headed and brash, usually rushes into battle without a plan as she's not much of a strategist. She can let her anger get to her and even with her healing, Senketsu's use has a limit. Especially due to him constantly feeding off Ryuko's blood.

Ann: She can also die if her heart is crushed or destroyed. But as long as Senketsu is by her side, together they can do anything.

Ryuko: Blow it out your ass, bitch! It's gonna take a hell of a lot more than you to stop me!
