Dizzy: The sole remaining Mobian Echidna and last of the Guardians of Angel Island, Knuckles was trained at the age of four by his father, Locke, to assume the mantle of Guardian by the age of ten.

Junko: Yeah, because abandoning your kid and making them think their entire race had died out was totally a good idea.

Dizzy: Knuckles lived alone on Angel Island for most of his life as the protector of the Chaos Emeralds and, later, the Master Emerald. He would later form the Chaotix and join the Freedom Fighters in their goal to take down Dr.Robotnick.

Junko: And we all know Knuckles is a very valuable asset! And it should be no secret at this point that Knuckles from Archie Comics is way different from his video game counterpart!

Dizzy: It's no surprise that Knuckles is far more potent than his video game counterpart as well, who is strong enough to push the moon with ease. Knuckles has clashed with both Sonic and Shadow, and while he's not as fast as them, he can most certainly keep up.

Akame: This is the same Sonic who is so fast that he can move through stopped time, and Knuckles has clashed with him over five times. Knuckles has even caught a spin dash from Shadow.

Junko: His can punch with enough force to cause explosions, destroy the giant mechs of one Egghead, and much much more. He can also take a lot of damage. He's been blasted by lasers, electrocuted, and even taken attacks from his alternate-universe counterpart! He can create massive earthquakes, cause volcanic eruptions, etcetera!

Akame: Not only that, he's also secretly a genius.

Junko: Yeah, unlike his video game version, Archie Knuckles is incredibly smart. At only three years old, he was doing math at a high school-college level, and he also quickly picked up other vital subjects he would need in order to be a guardian, such as history, geography, and science.

Akame: Knuckles was trained in the ancient martial arts created by his people.

Junko: This ancient art is mainly "punch the crap out of everything"! It allowed him to take on foes like Rouge the Bat, someone who is a trained spy and agent! He's also matched Sonic and Shadow in combat, even though they're both faster than him!

Akame: One of his toughest moves is the Spiral Upper

Akame: A move where he shoots himself into the air while spinning, delivering a powerful uppercut. He spins fast enough to cause his fists to ignite.

Junko: He can do the same with his Drill Claw and Ground Shaker, with the latter being able to paralyze his opponent!

Akame: Actually, a lot of his moves come from the games, like the classic Spindash and Homing Attack. As stated before, he can create earthquakes, explosions, tremors, and volcanic eruptions by punching. If he wanted, he could even lift giant boulders or rocks from the ground and throw them.

Junko: He can also fly!

Dizzy: Well, it's more like he's gliding. But it is true that Knuckles doesn't just use his fist.

Junko: He can heal himself and others, summon lightning or even bring meteors down from the sky! Knuckles can even unleash a flash of light that disables his opponent's movements for, like, 30 seconds!

Akame: While Archie Knuckles doesn't have the same arsenal as the original, he does have access to the Chaos Emeralds.

Akame: Seven mystical gems, each holding an almost infinite amount of Chaos Energy. Magical gemstones containing infinite power. Their ultimate origin is unknown, though they seem to be the physical manifestations of the Chaos Force, the all-encompassing energy of the universe. 

Junko: And with one of these, Knuckles can tap into Chaos Control! That's right, Knuckles can use Chaos Control, and he can use it to teleport himself and others! I wouldn't be surprised if he could stop time with it too. Though his primary source of power comes from the Master Emerald!

Dizzy: Created by the combined might of Athair and the Brotherhood of Guardians during a confrontation against Mammoth Mogul, the Master Emerald contains the powers of the twelve individual Chaos Emeralds, which initially held Angel Island afloat, along with two more. One recovered in a pocket zone and another from Mogul himself.

Junko: The same Mogul who threatened the entire infinite Multiverse with his power! With the Master Emerald, Knuckles can nullify the power of the Chaos Emeralds or turn them into Super Emeralds! 

Akame: He can also shrink the Master Emerald's size to make it easier to carry.

Junko: And whether he's using the Super Emeralds or Master Emeralds, he can tap into them and become Hyper Knuckles!

Junko: In this form, Knuckles becomes infinitely stronger and faster! He's completely invulnerable and can fight evenly with the already-broken Super Sonic! 

Akame: In one of their battles, Sonic and Knuckles even destroyed an entire dimension. In addition to flight and invulnerability, Hyper Knuckles' natural bond with the Chaos Force is also more open to him in this state, granting him abilities he would not otherwise be able to utilize, such as controlling minds, destroying everything around them in a flash of light, and channeling enormous surges of Chaos energy.

Junko: And all with just the power of some emeralds!

Akame: ... However, Knuckles doesn't need the Emeralds' power to connect with the Chaos Force.

Junko: Eh?

Dizzy: Right, let's go back to Knuckles' father real quick. Before Knuckles' conception, his father Locke, the Guardian of his era, was given dreams of a possible future by the Ancient Walkers, foretelling Dr. Ivo Robotnik's rise to power and the dangers his evil presents to Knuckles' future. Frighten and shocked by the implied death of his future son, Locke began making preparations to ensure Knuckles had the power to combat the looming threat, which meant augmenting his genetics before Knuckles' conception using Long Forbidden Technologies of Biological Enhancements and a radiation bath for Knuckles, still in his egg, through the full force of the Floating Island's Master Emerald.

Junko: So he mutated his child over a little dream? Ha! And I thought I was messed up!

Akame: Regardless, Knuckles essentially became a living Chaos Emerald, allowing him to access the Chaos Force without needing a Chaos Emerald, similar to Shadow. This explains why he can rapidly recover from any injury, summon lightning, generate matter from thin air, enhance his strength through insane lengths, and even use telekineses like Silver, and so much more, all in his base form. His Hyper Form allows all of this to a greater extent.

Dizzy: And by channeling the full power of the Chaos Force, he becomes Chaos Knuckles.

Junko: Yeah, it's about time we go over this layer of utter chaos... literally.

Dizzy: In his Chaos form, Knuckles' connection to the Chaos Force is stronger than that of any other known living being. Chaos Knuckles possesses abilities beyond those of any previous Guardian and virtually any other wielder of such power.

Junko: Not only is he infinitely stronger and faster than his Hyper form, but he can do everything he was able to do before to a greater extent! He can shoot lasers from his eyes or hands, create energy blasts from his entire body, travel through time and alter it to his will, communicate with other Guardians living or dead across distances, warp reality to shape matter,  possess others, and manipulate Chaos energy to a much greater level and degree than had ever been seen before! According to Athair, Chaos Knuckles' power continued to rise with each passing moment, describing him as being in a "constantly evolving state"! In a very short time, his power grew to the point that the echidnas and Dark Legion deemed Chaos Knuckles' very existence a danger to all of reality!

Dizzy: To further put Chaos Knuckles' powers in perspective, he was able to easily defeat a clone of Turbo Tails who, according to Merlin Prower and Athair, was said to possess even greater strength than Super Sonic or Hyper Knuckles. He's even withstood the chaos siphon suit, which was specifically made to drain his immense powers and kill him. With all this at his disposal, he's just as powerful, if not more so, than the ones he possessed as Enerjak!

Junko: Yeah, he's defiantly on another level of bullshit. But even Knuckles has to have his weaknesses.

Akame: Right, despite being reasonably intelligent in combat strategies, he still prefers to rush in fist first. He can also be a bit cocky and hotheaded at times.

Dizzy: And it's not like he's unbeatable. He had died once before... though he did come back afterward by just... asking to come back to life.

Junko: And it's times like this I ask myself... what the fuck are comics? Yeah, I'm definitely not gonna be saying that again.

Knuckles: Good luck smashing it out with me! Knuckles the Echidna! That's right, I get to introduce myself!
