Kokonoe: Before becoming a Saint known across the planet, Jeanne d'Arc was just a girl living on a farm in rural France, when one day she claimed to have heard the voice of God.

Junko: Hail Jesus!

Kokonoe: ... Right. She heard the Lord's lament that the world changed straight into hell. The Lord wept into sorrow as no one could stop it and people were not even allowed to live and were compelled to become either beasts or food. Conflict never ended, and blood continued to rain incessantly and soak the land. She received a revelation from the Lord, the voice contained no glory or victory, no obligation or sense of purpose but only the Lord's laments. She caught his small, feeble murmurs that everyone else failed to hear.

Junko: And so she dressed up like a man and joined the army to fight in a 100-year war!

Kokonoe: Dressing up as a man alone was a sin that went against the beliefs of the Church. But letting a girl go to war at a time like this? Especially at the age of 13? That was just treason. Still, Jeanne knew the risks and was ready to face the consequences when the time came. In the meantime, she went out and lead her country to victory. Though after the war was won, the Church turned all of her supporters against her, viewing her as some sort of witch. And so she was sentenced to death for over 70 criminal charges, with 69 of them being false accusations. 

Junko: And so she was burned alive in front of everyone with no regrets for her actions... only being seen as innocent for her crimes years after her death at 19 years old... ... ... well, that's the end of her story. Let's go home!

Ann: That's not the end!

Kokonoe: Actually, she's not technically wrong.

Ann: Huh?

Kokonoe: After all that, she's been through and all that she's done, there's no question that her journey while alive had come to an end, and her tale would be recorded in the Tree of Heroes before reappearing many years later for a Holy Grail War as a Servant.

Kokonoe: Now before we get started, just know that we will be looking into Jeanne at her full potential as a Servant.

Junko: Kinda difficult to explain what we mean by that so we'll talk more about it later. But no matter what we do with her, she's still incredibly strong, capable of destroying a mountain of Dragon Tooth Warriors with a swing of her flag! She's destroyed massive pillars, knocked away large boulders, flipped a plane upside down, and blocked blows from the mountain-sized Sparticus! 

Ann: She's taken hits from Rider Medusa, Jack the Ripper, Vlad III, and Berserker Lancelot. She's even taken on the Archer turned Berserker, Atalanta Alter. In their fight, Jeanne dodged thousands of her arrows. She was hit by one in the anime, but in the manga, she dodges all of them. 

Junko: On top of that, she's defeated the likes of Karna and Tamamo. Karna's flames are as hot as the sun and Tamamo is even stronger than that!

Kokonoe: According to Gilgamesh, Tamamo was using her Moon Crux's power during their fight. This grants Tamamo power similar though slightly weaker than her Mistic Codes. 

Junko: Still impressive considering Tamamo's Mistic Code allows her to keep up with someone like BB, who can cross a distance of 38,000 lightyears in a very short timeframe.

Kokonoe: Since everything on the Far Side of the Moon Cell moves less than a microsecond, we can assume BB did this feat in nanoseconds. Meaning BB must have been moving around 11 quintillions to 1.19 sextillion times the speed of light. It might be even faster since it was said that the distance BB crossed is actually infinite in scale.

Junko: Who would have thought that some holy crossdresser would be so strong? But what really makes her something is her status as a Ruler Class Heroic Spirit!

Kokonoe: The Ruler Class is a special class meant to maintain the rules of the Holy Grail Wars. Because the wars don't normally require a Ruler, there are very few in the class at all. The heroes of this class don't have a wish for the Grail and remain neutral during the war. They also have Command Seals to control or stun spirits.

Junko: It also has you possess a random girl who conveniently looks like you because you don't have a physical body!

Kokonoe: Actually no, that was due to the unique and bizarre circumstances that occurred in Fate/Apocrypha. She's admitted herself that under normal circumstances she would have appeared as a Heroic Spirit like everyone else. This was the reason why she wasn't as strong as she could have been and was affected by things a normal Heroic Spirit wouldn't have been such as poison.

Ann: Of course, we'll be using her at her strongest so we'll be looking at her as the original Heroic Spirit she was meant to be. Meaning we will be using the same Servant Physiology

Kokonoe: Servants are essentially copies and avatars of Heroic Spirits from the Throne of Heroes.  The Throne of Heroes is located within the Root, which exists completely outside of space-time. The Swirl of the Root exists outside and beyond everything completely, transcending all reason, logic, theories, and dimensions within the Nasuverse. It is the source of all things but is also the complete void of nothingness at the same time.

Junko: In other words, when a Servant 'dies' they don't technically die. Their memories and experience is just recorded into the Throne of Heroes and returned to their original bodies until they're summoned again. But for the sake of Death Battle, we'll consider the Servant's death as the battle's end goal.

Ann: Servants are all immune to poison and can take a spirit form in case they want to avoid contact with the outside world. They can also sense presences and hone in on any magical signals and foreign energy.

Junko: Servants can see, interact, harm, and even kill ghosts and souls. They're also shown to be able to affect conceptually non-existent bodies like Kama's.

Kokonoe: Not only that, but they can resist spatiotemporal distortions, such as when battling against dragons in Fate/Grand Order, who can collapse space-time with their mere breath and presence. Even weaker servants can resist Tiamat's Sea of Life to an extent, which affects the souls, minds, and bodies on a conceptual level.

Ann: Servants also don't need to worry about eating or sleeping. They just need magical energy from their masters to stay alive normally. Though Jeanne doesn't need to worry about this either since she gets magic directly from the Holy Grail thanks to being a Ruler Class Servant.

Kokonoe: Jeanne is described as a taciturn and cool girl when acting as a Servant though she doesn't see herself as a saint. Still, she is a devoted follower of God and constantly prays to him every day. Even keeping her faith when she was burned at the stake.

Junko: Hail Jesus.

Ann: Stop that!

Kokonoe: She bears no hatred or ill will to others like Bluebeard Giles De Rais as she was willing to pray for salvation for him. Though her patience has its limits. Especially when it comes to William Shakespeare's illusions. Still, she has no regrets about her actions in her lifetime. She likes to sleep on haystacks, sucks when it comes to romance, and has a strange habit of poking Giles de Rais' eyes

Junko: I mean have you seen those things? Who wouldn't wanna poke his eyes back into their sockets? Jeanne is also one of the 6 Top Servants, putting her up there with guys like Karna, Artoria, and Scáthach. Gilgamesh is a Top Servant too but even Jeanne states his power far surpasses her own. 

Ann: Right. In terms of stats, Jeanne can be considered... a more defensive version of Artoria with everything she has. She can sense the presence of others even if they try to conceal it, and she can exorcise spirits and spiritual beings on the conceptual level with the Baptism Rite.

Junko: Of course, she does have Class Skills or skills that she has as a Ruler Class. Starting with her Magic Resistance.

Junko: This ability provides protection against magecraft. But it really just nullifies the magic rather than outright resisting it. Jeanne's version is different though. 

Kokonoe: Right. Ruler's version of Magic Resistance only diverts magic rather than eliminating the spell itself. Meaning in the face of a wide-scale magical bombardment, only Jeanne will survive.

Ann: Still, her magic resistance is classed EX, meaning she can take magic as powerful as the Age of Gods! The same magic capable of completely destroying entire bodies of Servants and decimating entire cities!

Kokonoe: Next Class Skill is God's Resolution.

Kokonoe: This is the skill that gives Jeanne the Command Seals required to forcibly control other Servants. She can also use it to strengthen other Servants who fight alongside her.

Ann: These Command Spells will also fail if the Servant becomes something that is sufficiently different from their original summoning, such as Vlad III's transformation into the Nameless Vampire after being forcibly merged with Darnic's soul.

Junko: She also can't forcibly control people that aren't servants, but she can still use the ability to momentarily stun any opponent.

Ann: The next skill is the True Name Discernment.

Ann: This gives Jeanne the authority to know her target's name as well as their abilities, personality, skills, and even their position at any given time. However, she struggles when it comes to those who can conceal their identity like Mordred and Astoflo. 

Kokonoe: And now we can move on to her Personal Skills given to her based on the life she lived. Starting with her Rank A Revelation.

Junko: This power is very similar to Artoria's Instinct, a sixth sense that lets her see the future during battle. The difference is Revelation lets her see the future for more than just battles. It accommodates all matters related to the achievement of a goal. Even something as simple as choosing the most suitable path while traveling.

Kokonoe: And finally there's her C-Rank Charisma. 

Kokonoe: This skill grants her the ability to command others and lead them into battle, boosting their morale and combat performance in the process. Due to the famous images of Joan of Arc leading the French forces into the battlefield with battle standards in hand, Ruler possesses a C Rank in this skill, allowing her to easily convince others of the contents of her Revelations without physical evidence.

Ann: She also has a Saint skill that indicates a Servant's status as a Christian saint.

Junko: Hail Jesus!

Ann: Stop that...

Junko: And when the going gets tough, she can tap into one of her Ascension Forms!

Kokonoe: Under the FATE system, some Servants can undergo Ascension, a reform for the Servants to become stronger by coming closer to their "starting point of conception." It may even bring about a younger, more inexperienced form without reducing their power as a Servant because it is the "most fitting figure" for them. 

Ann: Yeah, Jeanne has two with one being stronger than the other, but they both increase all her parameters.

Ann: But we're getting ahead of ourselves. We should be talking about Jeanne's Noble Phantasm. Or at least her main one... the flag she carries with her, Luminosité Eternelle: God is Here With Me

Kokonoe: The same flag Jeanne brought into battle. It's incredibly durable and makes for a good spear. The flag had inspired and uplifted her soldiers who had believed a saint walked amongst them, said to have continually protected her as she ran ahead in battle as the vanguard. And since it's a Holy Weapon, it's pretty useful against Vampires.

Junko: Jeanne can use it as a weapon potent enough to easily destroy Dragon Tooth Warriors, block strikes from enemy Servants, and pierce through obstacles with its tip! She's used it to block an attack from Sparticus, stab through Jeanne Alter, or even uppercut Fafnir! The strongest dragon in the Fate series!

Ann: She can throw it like a Boomerang and perform various magical attacks like her arrows of light that send pillars of light down on her opponents or Fire of Purification which melts the ground around her.

Kokonoe: But after calling upon its true name, Jeanne can activate it as a Noble Phantasm and summon her Faith Barrier.

Kokonoe: The flag is powered by the faith of the soldiers who fought alongside her, allowing it to dispel harm coming to her or her allies. Combined with her Magic Resistance, it lets her disperse spells comparable to meteor strikes and lets her block powerful non-magic attacks as well.

Junko: It can be as small as her own body or large enough to surround an entire plane! It's strong enough to block the arrows of Atalanta Alter and even deflected a huge blast from Demon God Flauros! She can even repel others away from her using this barrier!

Ann: Her flag isn't the only Noble Phantasm she has though. She also has her second Noble Phantasm, La Pucelle: The Crimson Holy Virgin.

Kokonoe: The sword that Jeanne carried but never used in her lifetime. This doesn't mean she's a bad swordsman. She might not be as good at using her blade as she is with her flag, but she can still match Archer EMIYA in bladed combat.

Ann: With this blade, Jeaune can use her Drive Skill, which creates a burst of fire around herself. But the true flames lie after she's unleashed her Noble Phantasm by calling out its true name.

Kokonoe: Normally it's a C-Rank Noble Phantasm without any defining traits aside from its durability, but upon activation, it becomes an offensive subset of a Reality Marble, the materialization of her burning at the stake and becoming one with God. 

Ann: It needs a prayer to activate, but upon doing so it becomes a Conceptual Weapon that annihilates anything of her choosing with its unimaginable offensive power without harming anything she does not target.

Junko: It's strong enough to destroy several pillars and Shirou Amakusa's creatures. And when absorbed by his Big Crunch it made a massive explosion that damaged not only the room they were in but the Greater Grail itself!

Kokonoe: The Greater Grail being a gateway to the Root. It also vaporized Gilles de Rais and the gigantic monster he fused with, overwhelming its Grail-fueled regeneration. Then destroyed Gilles again along with the manifested form of Prelati's Spellbook.

Junko: But as powerful as Jeanne is, she's not fireproof. 

Ann: She's somewhat naive and trusting at times. 

Kokonoe: Her Magic Resistance only applies to herself and thus any allies will still be affected by wide-range attacks. It also fails against illusionary Noble Phantasms as well as the sacraments of the Church.

Junko: Also the Luminosite Eternelle is limited in its capacity to absorb damage since the damage accumulates within the flag, causing it to begin to tear as she uses it. She also can't move while it's activated. Oh yeah, and the full activation of La Pucelle will totally end her life so she can only use it as a last resort.

Ann: She also once planned to establish a new law that all pink-haired girls and people who look like girls will have their hair cut off immediately...

*Junko and Ann looked at Kokonoe*

Kokonoe: ...What?

Ann: Oh um nothing. Well regardless, Jeanne will always fight for what she believes in and for the God she trusts.

Junko: Hail mother fucking Jesus!

Jeanne: My true name is Jeanne d'Arc. In the name of my Lord, I shall stand as your shield! Though this entire planet has become the battlefield of the Holy Grail War, though the world has been brought to ruin, though countless formidable foes block your path, the end has still yet to be determined by anyone.
