Dizzy: On December 23rd, 1944, the sorcerer Rasputin would attempt a ritual at summoning the Ogdru Jahad, in a hired attempt made by the Nazis to assure themselves greater powers in their fight in WWII. While not known to the Nazis as the project yielded no results in their location, miles away in East Bromwich, England, a red child with a large red gauntlet for a right hand would appear in a ball of fire and be taken in by the lead investigator of the group, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, Aka Broom, who would promptly name the child Hellboy.

Junko: Hellboy lived a pretty quiet life relatively normal childhood under the watchful eye of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense... or BPRD for short. They're essentially Men in Black but for all things spiritual and paranormal.

Akame: While initially being kept a secret from the world, Hellboy would eventually be granted honorary human status by the United Nations and soon work for the BPRD. Hellboy would become a key component in the organization's fight against all paranormal threats, and would even act as a mediator for some of them. Here he would meet a pyrokinetic user by the name of Elizabeth Sherman, a fish-man by the name of Abe Sapien, and several others along the way.

Junko: And luckily for those guys, they had one hell of a strong devil by their side!

Junko: Ignoring the totally out-of-context GIF, Hellboy is incredibly strong, being capable of taking on monsters 3x his own size! And trust me, Hellboy is no small guy! He once threw a tree trunk in a giant's mouth, one-shotted a dinosaur, and even split a hydra's head in two!

Dizzy: His strength should not only be comparable to Elizabeth, who used her flames to burn down a whole city, but also to the demon brothers who created a massive storm across the entire world.

Akame: He doesn't just have strength, but speed too.

Junko: He's way faster than your average man! Not even giants or ghosts can keep up with him! Hell, he's even speedblitzed Rasputin!

Akame: He's dodged laser beams, energy beams, lightning, and even a blast from an accelerator canon, making him a tad bit faster than the speed of light. But I suppose none of this is as impressive as his durability.

Junko: The guy's been shot, stabbed, electrocuted, blasted away, and tossed around by a giant frog, and that's just a Tuesday! 

Dizzy: He's been caught in several explosions which included an entire Nazi base holding a bunch of UFOs, one that blew up an entire castle, and even had his own jetpack explode on his back while falling hundreds of feet from a plane, crashing into a tower roof without a scratch. He's even shrugged off getting impaled through the chest and then proceeded to run through the blade that impaled him. This immense durability is partially thanks to his Demon Physicality.

Dizzy: Thanks to being half-demon half-human, Hellboy has physical prowess greater than many other normal humans. He also gains a healing factor that lets him regenerate from lost limbs and he's highly resistant to all things fire and electricity.

Junko: He also doesn't need to worry about dying of old age since he ages a lot slower than everyone else. The guy's over 400 years old and is still in his 70's!

Akame: He's an expert fighter, normally focusing on taking hits and overpowering his opponent. He's good enough to fight alongside Batman and his swordsmanship and marksmanship aren't so bad either.

Junko: He can even control fire!

Dizzy: Hellboy can control giant bursts of fire, whether that be from his left hand, his right hand, or his entire body. Typically Hellboy will consume whatever area he's in with flames. He can also harness his fiery powers into his weapons for added power.

Junko: Speaking of his right hand, he can use this to charge up his Right Hand of Doom!

Junko: Yep, we're getting real handy with these names of hands this chapter.

Dizzy: A virtually indestructible gauntlet made of red stone grafted onto his right hand since birth. He feels no pain from it and is surprisingly versatile with it, once using it to snatch a fly out of the air.

Junko: He can use it to punch intangible beings or punch the ground so hard it makes holes to Hell! And when infused with fire, he can easily melt steel and stone!

Akame: As for the rest of his arsenal... or should I say, anything he can get his hands on including this stuff... he has plenty of weapons.

Junko: Like the good ol' Samaritan! 

Dizzy: Handed to him by hero The Torch of Liberty, Hellboy's main weapon of choice is this large hand cannon. While Hellboy has used a variety of pistols in the comics, this pistol is a constant among all the Hellboy continuities, both in design and power.

Junko: Being a 22 MM four-round revolver, this gun has an easy time blasting through monsters in the same way it can blast thrown stone pillars or walls. The shells for this were made by Hellboy himself, one of which is made of holy water, clover leaves, silver shavings, and white oak, made specifically for killing all manner of unholy demons and creatures. Hellboy on occasion has been known to also use silver bullets. This weapon has been attributed by Hellboy to act as a cannon, especially due to its ability to absolutely obliterate its target.

Akame: There's also his 1941 US Army-Issue M1911A1 .45 Caliber Pistol.

Junko: That name's way too long. I'll just call 'er Ivory. The gun weighs 2.44 pounds and has a length of 8.25 inches. It has a 0.45 ACP cartridge and a short recoil, even being able to harm intangible beings! But if he really wanted to use the big guns, he's always got the Big Baby!

Junko: This giant, 6-round explosive shotgun can fire off two rounds at a time, causing a huge explosion wherever it's fired! Being as large as it is, the thing is big enough to be held in Hellboy's right hand! And has nine different types of ammunition that you can read about above.

Akame: Hellboy uses plenty of needles, spears, grenades, and knives, but almost nothing in his arsenal compares to Excalibur.

Junko: Yeah, so it turns out Hellboy's mother, Sarah Hughes, is the long-lost relative to King Arthur... yes... that King Arthur. In other words, Hellboy is the rightful ruler of Great Britain and the literal king among men! He can now use this blade and combine it with his fire to cut almost anything!  Don't expect a giant Excalibur blast from it... but do expect it to let him summon... I dunno... an army of the undead? Though that might have only been in the movie... it was a pretty average reboot, to be honest. 

Dizzy: He has gas grenades that release a deadly poison, bombs strong enough to blow up a mountain, an Arbutus that drives Ectoplasm away, an Iron Horseshoe to weed out fairies, and two different coins meant to ward off evil, both of which can increase his attack power and lower the amount of damage he takes.

Junko: He's also got Molohmi's Bell and a Ressurection Amulet, both of which bring back Hellboy from the dead! Is that not enough? Then I'll show you enough with Vasilisa's comb and handkerchief!

Junko: These aren't just items to make Hellboy look good! The comb allows him to control and summon plants. He can grow anything from roots and trees to an entire forest! Meanwhile, the handkerchief can summon water, whether that be small waves of it, or an entire ocean capable of flooding a mountain!

Dizzy: But if push comes to shove, Hellboy can up the mantle of Anung Un Rama or the one "upon whose brow rests a crest of flame" and awaken his Devil Heart.

Dizzy: Several times Hellboy would access the rage of this power, leading to an increase in his physical strength and durability, all while covering himself in an aura of flames. With the awakening of his Devil Heart comes the ability to access Hellmode, with Hellboy entering a blinding rage referred to as Hellfury, overwhelming his opponents with his strength, or Hellfire, which lets him access the fiery abilities of his Devil Heart to set foes ablaze.

Junko: Man, we've really been saying Hell a lot today! Hellboy can grow himself to the size of a colossus, rip off his horns and stab you with them, summon hellfire powerful and wide enough to ignite an entire mountain range or ignite his fist, and even call down lightning from the sky to channel into his Right Hand of Doom!

Akame: Along with this transformation comes the Crown of the Apocolypse.

Dizzy: Whenever Hellboy activates his Devil Heart, upon his brow appears a crown of fire, meant to grant the user immense firepower and wisdom. This crown is enough to make any lower demon rival the power of Anung Un Rama.

Akame: A lowly demon by the name of Ualac took the crown from Hellboy and used its powers to create a blade of fire, and other canons of Hellboy show him capable of doing the same thing. This also gives Hellboy a destructive aura of fire

Dizzy: But he's far from invincible.

Junko: Wait is that a monkey with a gun? 

Dizzy: Hellboy can have somewhat of a short temper, sometimes getting so overwhelmed with anger that he rushes in without thinking, which can sometimes get him in trouble. He often gets upset when his equipment malfunctions, which isn't uncommon.

Junko: And his healing factor can't always save him. He can still be killed if his heart is destroyed and can't come back if he doesn't activate that bell or amulet beforehand. And while his right arm is pretty much indestructible, the rest of his body is still vulnerable and can be damaged.

Dizzy: Still, He's a force to be reckoned with and there's nobody more capable of bringing down hell itself... than Hellboy.

Hellboy: I wish I could do something about this. But I can't. But I can promise you two things. One: I'll always look this good. Two: I'll never give up on you... ever.
