An elongated pause filled the air of her voicemail.

"I wheely miss dou, baby. Dwy won't you pitk up? Stept?" He said.

"Tum on, Stept, pwease. Pwease, baby. Pitk up, Stept." He continued. "Stept?"

"Stept?"

When the voicemail timer ran out Calvin sighed and hung up in defeat.

Later, when Stephanie listened to the message on her phone, she sighed as well. The baby's due date was only a month out and Calvin didn't even know about the pregnancy.
