"I've got a great idea. What if we pretend to date to make our exes jealous/trick other people/prove I'm not celibate to the doubters," he told me.

"Oh my gosh, brilliant idea! But we can't fall in love," I cautioned. He nodded in understanding and laughed.

"Well, obviously. But I'm totally not gonna fall in love with you," he said.

"Me neither. I definitely won't develop feelings for you as this fake relationship goes on," I stated.
