Tell us a little bit about yourself

I love reading (what a cliché answer), writing, and interacting with people on Wattpad. I'm a high school junior and I spend a lot of time trying not to stress over the SAT. When I'm not on Wattpad or studying, I like to binge-listen to Hamilton or binge-watch superhero shows.

What genre do you write in? Why are you drawn to the genre?

Teen Fiction! As a teen myself I'm super drawn to coming of age stories and finding who you are as a person, so it's something I can definitely relate to. I want to try my hand at other genres like fantasy and science fiction, but that'll probably be a long way from now.

What is your most memorable moment on Wattpad?

I don't think there's one particular moment on Wattpad that was super memorable to me; I think just waking up everyday and going through my notifications and responding to people is one of my favorite parts because I get to see people get joy from me doing things I love.

Do you think that writing on a platform such as Wattpad has helped you grow as a writer?

Definitely! It really helped bring out my inner writer (and artist) so I'm able to express myself in ways that I wasn't aware I could. Wattpad has given me an opportunity to share my work as a writer and graphic designer, which is much more than I could ask for.

What advice can you give to those that are just starting out on their online writing journey?

Write for yourself, and don't give up. Keep on writing even if you feel like nobody's reading or recognizes you. You should love what you're doing and find joy in writing. I think the most important part is to write for yourself. If you like writing about badass cyborg princesses, then write about badass cyborg princesses. Don't write about things you don't want to write about just because you think other people will like it.

What books have most influenced your life most?

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston.

Recipe Name: Chocolate Lava Cake

Is there a special story behind the recipe? If so can you tell us a little bit about it?

Chocolate Lava Cake is something I enjoy making with my family; it always becomes a fun affair for us to make together on special occasions or just for kicks.

Ingredients

6 ounces semisweet baking chocolate (or your favorite 70% dark chocolate bar)

6 ounces butter (diced, room temperature) plus butter for the ramekins

3 eggs

1⁄2 cup granulated sugar

1⁄3 cup flour

4 ramekins

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Melt chocolate on low flame in a bain-marie (double boiler). When melted, take of flame, and stir in diced butter, until it melts.

3. In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar, until it starts to whiten.

4. Stir in melted chocolate and then the flour.

5. Butter 4 individual ramekins, and pour in chocolate batter.

6. Cook for about 10 minutes (my oven requires 21 minutes, so check at 10, 15, and 20 for the softness).

7. Tip ramekins upside down onto dessert plates and serve.
