Tell us a little bit about yourself

Hey everyone! My name is Lish, amk is just my initials, and I'm really bad at introductions! I'll try though ^~^

I'm a high school student, and while you may believe that being an author means that English/Literature is my best class, it's actually not. Thank you, past English teachers.

I absolutely love everything that has to do with Harry Potter, it's my all time favorite series. Though I will admit, the Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses have come pretty close.

My favorite food is blueberry muffins, for no real reason other than the fact that they taste good. It probably won't surprise you to find out that my favorite color is blue.

What genre do you write in? Why are you drawn to the genre? 

The majority of my stories are short stories, and I like them because I don't have to spend forever writing extremely long chapters. It also makes it easier for me to stay focused writing a story when each chapter is only about 200-300 words long. It's more enjoyable for me to write shorter chapters too, and I can get updates out a lot faster as well :)

What is your most memorable moment on Wattpad?

My most memorable moment...Gosh, there have been so many throughout my time here.

My most memorable moment was when my story Moonlight was ranked #39 in Short Story. It might not seem very big to some of you, but it was such a huge deal to me, to get that far on the list.

A close second would probably be when I got the email that I had been selected to be in the Block Party- which was even more exciting when I found out that a few of my friends had gotten in as well.

Do you think that writing on a platform such as Wattpad has helped you grow as a writer?

Wattpad has most definitely helped me to grow as a writer. I love the interaction that I get to have with all of you, and I get to read and look up to so many amazing authors on here. I had always wanted to be an author when I was younger, but my family always said it was unrealistic. Being on here makes me feel like I am an author, and even if I don't become published, I still love writing for all of you.

What advice can you give to those that are just starting out on their online writing journey?

Never give up, and never let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. Your family says you can't be an author? Prove them wrong and write your butt off! You can do it!

Also, don't be discouraged if you're not getting a ton of reads and votes on your stories. I know exactly how that feels, but you can't give up. Just keep writing, and interact with your fellow wattpaders. Feel free to hit me up, I'd love to help some of you newer author out.

What books have most influenced your life most?

Probably the Harry Potter series, it just has always been a part of me, and it's how I start conversations with people too. Plus it was something my mom and I could bond over, and it's just a series that will always have such a special place in my heart.

Recipe Name: Dad's Special Punch

Is there a special story behind the recipe? If so can you tell us a little bit about it?

My family has always thrown birthday parties for me and my siblings at our house, and we always invite a ton of people over. My dad has made this punch at every birthday party, for more years than I can remember, and I love helping him make it.

Ingredients:

1 gallon of Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red

2 Liter of Sprite, or really any sort of lemonlime fizzy drink

1 container of orange sherbet

1 container of lime sherbet

12 oz of frozen orange juice

1 bag of mini marshmallows

1 heart full of love

Depending on how much punch you need, and how sweet you want it to me, you may need to double or lessen some amounts. And seriously, go crazy with adding and altering ingredients, that's how my dad came up with this punch. Make your own punch from this, that'd be pretty cool, right?

Directions:

In a large punch bowl/container, pour the entire gallon of Hawaiian Punch.

Next, add about 1 1/2 liters of Sprite to the mix.

Then, add about a half of the orange sherbet to the drink, using an ice cream scooper for best results.

Add about half of the lime sherbet to the drink after the orange, and then stir the mixture a few times to make sure the sherbet isn't too frozen.

It is optional to eat a few bites of sherbet now, because that was such hard work.

Next, add the entire can of frozen orange juice to your drink, and then mix it again.

Sprinkle about half a bag of marshmallows on top of the drink, and then make sure you eat a few as well. They're marshmallows, who doesn't love marshmallows?

Then, look at the people you're making this for. Do you love them? Yes, you do. Make sure they can feel that love when they're drinking this.
