What or who inspired you to start writing?

When I was a kid, I would read a lot of books, especially Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys! Love those mysteries! I read them so much that just this past weekend, my Dad bought me some hardcover copies he found at a garage sale. I dabbled at writing my own stories but didn't take it seriously until much later. In fact, the Legend of the Firewalker is the first story that I have ever written. I've been inspired by several authors, but it wasn't until after reading the entire Twilight series that I decided to give it a whirl.

In the Legend of the Firewalker, there are at least two passages in the book that were written as a homage to Stephenie Meyer and the Twilight series. Pretty much a shout-out to the series.

"Powers or no powers, the one thing he knew for certain was that Leah was real, and so was the blue flame that had scorched his bed. So that meant the red-hooded Twilight: New Moon wannabes were real too, and so were their black-hooded doppelgangers." –Chapter 10, Blue Flame, LOTFW, Book #1

I hear you like Urban Legends. Which one haunts you the most?

Yes, Yes, Yes! I just returned from a trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan. The island is surrounded by the waters of Lake Huron and the shores are just crawling with Urban Legends and ghost stories! Of course, I had to attend one of the island's ghost tours and the story that still haunts me is the one about the Phantom Bike Rider.

Since 1898, cars have been banned on the island, so transportation is either by horse or bike or on foot. While biking on the roads at night, island residents and some visitors report being followed by an approaching biker that appears to be shifting gears in attempt to pass them. However, the approaching biker never passes them even when they slow down. After finally coming to a halt, witnesses become even more freaked out when they discover there is no one behind them.

That's haunting. I hope you'll consider writing one inspired by that.

You list your favorite show as The Walking Dead (that's mine too!). Why do you think people like the supernatural, and horror so much?

I think it's the thrill of the unknown. Whether what goes bump in the night intrigues you or makes you scared, people are drawn to that emotional experience.

What can you tell us about your creation for the Block Party? For the Block Party, there is a sneak peek of Chapter 2 from Drawing Bloodlines, Book #2, in the Legend of the Firewalker book series.

BTW, here's a link (it's not clickable, but trust me- it's worth it to type out!) :https://www.wattpad.com/145243625-wattpad-block-party-summer-edition-stevebevil

You're big into freebees for your fans. That is wonderful! What do you get out of the exchange?

I am very grateful for all the readers and fans of the series and all the support just rocks! It inspires me to give back!

What haven't I asked that you'd like me to ask?

I think that's good for now....LOL! It's after midnight and I've been working all day on Book #3 in the series, Urban Legends, and I'm pooped. Time to fall asleep to some re-runs of good ol' Ghost Hunters. Woohoo!

Sweet dreams, Steve! :)
