Hi Darly! So... what can we expect from you for the Block Party? 

My post for the Wattpad Block Party is a bonus chapter from my debut novel, Strawberry Wine, written especially for the readers. Strawberry Wine is a story I wrote last year, inspired by a song of the same name. On a whim, I entered it into The Write Affair Contest sponsored by Wattpad and Kensington Publishing and it received the grand prize, a publication contract with Kensington! The story is told from Addison Monroe's POV as she recounts falling in love with college man Jake Grady the summer before her final year of high school. It was a summer of many firsts for her, and she takes the reader along for the ride! This bonus chapter is told from Jake's POV, which many readers have been asking for. 

How long have you been on Wattpad & what's your experience been like here? 

 I've been on Wattpad for just over a year and my experience has been wonderful! It sounds so cliché, but Wattpad has literally changed my life. I had never written creatively before but always wanted to try, and Wattpad made that possible. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever become a published author! And not only that, but I have made some incredible new friends, people I never would have had the opportunity to meet outside of Wattpad. They have enriched my life in so many ways and encourage and support me on a daily basis. I feel very blessed.

A publishing contract? You're living the dream right here! LOL.

But seriously, I agree the Wattpad community is super supportive. Can you name two authors on this site who have influenced you? 

 Seriously, only two? There are so many! Okay, the very first two names that came to mind are writers I met shortly after I began my WP account, @KatieSpektor and @SarahBensonBooks. They are both so talented and I've learned so much from them. Not only are they brilliant at what they do, but they are truly kind and genuine people. 

Time for the classic desert island question! You can take three book with you.  What are they?

That's a no-brainer! The Diary of Anne Frank (because I feel there are so many lessons in there we can benefit from learning), Lucky by Jackie Collins (it's my go-to summer reading book that requires very little thinking – yes, it's a guilty pleasure!), and A Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers (because I've been wanting to read it and can never find the time). I know, it's an eclectic mix! 

You really covered some genre-territory with that answer. I know you're busy, so I'll leave you with this one last question: when you aren't writing, what are you doing? 

 When I'm not writing, I can be found thinking about writing! I'm also a big fan of my husband and children – I love being with them. Whether it's on an adventurous day trip or a mellow family movie night, I can't imagine being anywhere else.
