AUTHOR INTERVIEW: 

Hi Rachel! Thanks for joining us. How did you choose what to write for the Block Party Summer Edition?  

I've been working on this project for a few months now, but I've kept it under the wraps. So I decided what better way to release it then through the Block Party?

Absolutely! And your fans will love it- a sequel to One of the Boys. What was the inspiration for your story? 

Periodically, I go back and reread some of my old stories. And when I went back and read this particular one, I felt like the ending was just left hanging. There was no Epilogue, there was no resolution. It was just left there. So I decided to do something about it.

If you could meet one famous author (dead or alive) who would it be and what would you ask them? 

Lurlene McDaniel. She was my inspiration to begin writing. And I would basically just talk her ear off for as long as she allowed me to. I want to know everything about her. How she writes the stories she does, what HER inspiration is, just everything.

Twain smoked his pipe, Hemingway drank. What do YOU do to get in that writing mood? 

I turn on a vinyl, light my candle, and see where the characters take me.

I LOVE that answer! You are a superstar on Wattpad, with more than 100K followers! How did YOU discover Wattpad? 

My best friend was over my house, and instead of being sociable, she was reading on her phone. And I was so intrigued that she could get free books (the keyword being free) on her phone. So I immediately downloaded the app, that app being Wattpad, and found some books for myself.

And what's been your experience?   

My experience has definitely had it's ups and downs. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love the community here, and I love the people. And I've definitely grown and developed as a writer throughout the years.

What's one thing we wouldn't know about you, but that is absolutely true? 

I'm such an emotional movie watcher. Put me in any movie, anywhere, and I will find a reason to cry. Just the other day I went and saw Inside Out, and I cried three separate times. It's a serious problem.

Ha! I did too actually! So, what's next for you after the Block Party?   

More books of course! My computer is stock full of half-finished and partial projects, so I'll keep writing as long as they let me.
