Tell us about yourself, Yas! 

[I'm] a clumsy fifteen year old Canadian who is trying to figure out how life works. In love with art, love and kind people. (And good music.) 

What's your  WATTPAD BLOCK PARTY SUMMER EDITION STORY?

The post? Presenting All about LaZY: Lotus, Zoey and Yas! 

Can you tell us a little bit about it?

It's a series of 3 interviews with Zoey, a character from Mailboy and Artgirl, Lotus, character from Flawed Souls and Yas, the writer of it all. LINK: http://www.wattpad.com/142559570-wattpad-block-party-summer-edition-foreversmilin%27 

How did you choose this particular story for the Block Party? 

 Sometimes, there are unanswered questions about the characters. I always like for my readers to understand the character so that they can learn to understand the stories in the process. Often, even when a story is over, the readers want to ask the characters questions about what happened, to satisfy a certain curiosity. Plus, I like for whomever Wattpadder reading my stories to know who I am, in order to take in a better view of what I'm writing. 

 What can we expect from when we read it? 

I'll talk about Mailboy/Artgirl. I was watching a Disney TV show named Good Luck Charlie and there was a mailman. The ideas evolved and well, voila! 

Tell us about some of your favorite authors? 

I love @defend, @beautyatwork, @hepbrunnettes and many more on Wattpad. They are major inspirations for me, because through their writing, there is simple beauty and art. Plus, they've taught me a lot on feminism and social justice, which I am forever grateful for.

Got any advice for aspiring authors? 

 I'd say try to impress yourself instead of impressing others. Set yourself goals and pour out your heart on paper. Writing isn't about the numbers or the comments, it's about spreading your brilliance and imagination to more than yourself. 

 What's your writing routine? Are you a day writer, or night writer? 

I can never write during the day, I'm a nocturnal person hahaha! I write better during the night; the ideas seem to flow easier. I try and fail to shut off my phone to work better, but I work greatly under stress. My necessities to write are a pair of headphones, an acoustic playlist and a cup of coffee. 

 How did you discover Wattpad? 

 Through a friend! She was raving about how wonderful these stories were on Wattpad and since I was curious what the fuss was all about, I made myself an account. 

Can you finish this sentence? When I'm not writing I'm...

Singing, laughing, making people laugh by being an idiot, studying, talking. 

So in an alternate universe, what are you doing right now? 

Saving a life. 

 What's you favorite thing about Wattpad? 

 The chance for people from all ages to write without the pressure of having to be published. There is a certain type of freedom that comes along with Wattpad. No judgment, just honest people trying to write. I know of many people who were in a bad place and through Wattpad, found friends that helped them get through it. You won't be afraid to write about your feelings, or about a mystical universe, because the chances are that people will cheer for you. 

That's awesome! So what's next... after the Block Party, I mean? 

 Continuing Artgirl and the third book in a poetry series!
