The December Buzz

Welcome to the corner where I gossip about all things good and exciting. Grab the coffee, it's generic but the pastry is imported so it makes up for the bland coffee taste - This is just a short article about the what's the going on in the Wattpad corners. Gather round, make sure your pencil has a point and let's get started!

Contests: Who doesn't love a good contest? There's always some around and it's easy to find them if you know how to look. But I know you authors, your eyes see things a little differently so I'm going to point a few out for you, just to get you started. Keep in mind you can always look on the Ambassador site or in the Ambassador run book: Community News and Updates. They're were trying to keep a running tab on new profiles and great contests.

Since this issue comes out in December, you missed the Incarnate contest - where the winner gets their work in a working graphic novel. And if you didn't enter the TNTHorrorContest then you're probably already feeling the horror of it. There's cash money up for grabs and a chance to have the great people at TNT turn your work into a show! Remember to support these people during the voting round and help make a dream come true.

Now, on with the show to things you can still jump into, that's what we all want to know right?

RomanceSparks is holding a contest called "Bad Boys and Ugly Sweaters." I can't imagine the brilliance of this combination! It ends Dec 11 and has a 2K word limit which is plenty of time to get the chili peppers and holly perfectly simmered. The tag is #badboyromance. I'm not gonna lie, men are sorely absent in the romance department so don't forget guys - you're side is welcome too, it's like the great unknown of romance. Lol

LiteraryFiction is hosting a monthly contest- the first was the struggle of a writer writing. Cool right? The rumour around the water cooler is the next will be starting in the next week or so and the prize's there are accolades and a real prize, the last being a 20 dollar gift card on Amazon! (which would buy that book you've been drooling over)!

Wattvampires is hosting a contest called "Slay Bell Rings". Prompted stories that tie Vampires to Christmas - and no, I don't think they're talking about Uncle Ray who sucks out the fun.

Here's what they had to say: "Wattvampires has joined forces with Nyhterides Queen of the Court of all things Glamourous and Grotesque. We have some jolly bloody stuff for the darklings. Are you aware that there are traditions that bind vamipres to the holiday's? Well, put on your best deep, sparkly and red on...we have prompts coming your way that will make your imagination spin and induce dreams of sugar plus and frosted crimson sparkles dance in our head. They'll make an announcement, including rules on December 1 - meanwhile, Dracula's little helpers are busy collecting some awesome prizes for you!"

WorldFaerySociety is still running its "Mystery of the Westbury Faery Contest" The cool thing about this contest is that you can take it wherever your mind wanders, and it's filled with interactive clues both on and off wattpad to help you figure out if indeed, Mr. Beck and Willow are knee deep in psychosis or if the Westbury Faery does indeed exist. The prize is a big one- being published in a book by OwlPress. Who wouldn't want that? (for the record, I say she exists, as do the other faery's I've met!)

Those are the one's I've scouted --if you know of any others or are planning on running any, let me know, (tamoja) and I'll try to get them in the next issue.

Author note: The magic of the contest is community, not competition. Remember to be sportsmanlike and always put your best foot, err, words forward. Good Luck!!
