*After 6 months*
Mako sighed and ran a hand  nervously through his hair before letting out a breath. Not only did it happen to be korra's birthday, but Mako was ready to take the next step in their relationship, he is going to propose to her, he had gotten Tonraq's blessing the previous day, but he was unsure of  how Korra would respond what if she says no? Shaking his head , Mako tried to clear his head and shake out his fear. whatever response she carried would change the course of his life
*At the party*
"Surprise" everyone yelled. Korra looked  around shocked to see all her family and friends around her. They were all gatherd around the table where there were a few gifts and birthday cake with 22 candles.she doesn't know what to say
"I-UM-THANKS" she finally said
"Blow out the candles korra" Opal said holding into her husband's hand Bolin
"And don't forget to make a wish"Bolin added with huge smile
Korra smiled as she walked to the table.she leaned on it putting her face over the cake thinking about what to wish for.korra closed her eyes and blew out the candles. Before she could lift her head up,she felt her face being pushed into the cake 
"Got her" jinorra yelled laughing. Korra lifted her face and it was completely covered with cake. Everyone stood silent waiting for her reaction.she looked at Mako who laughed
"I got distracted for a spilt second and she took advantage"he said innocently between laughs.korra whipped her face and smeared what was on her hand and on his face before bursting in laughter herself. Everyone joind her.Mako grabbed her by the waist and give her a kiss on her temple as he whipped some of the icing  and placing it on her nose she continued to laugh
"Who want cake?" Korra asked. Everyone gathered around as she distributed what was left on. Bolin gluped his down almost immediately while Opal scolded him to slow down before he chocked
"Presents time"Ikki yelled jumping up and down
"Yeah presents" Meelo agread
Everyone gives Korra presents
"I think you should give Korra her gift" Bolin whisper
"Korra, we've been dating for six months now " he began she was confused on where he was going with that but she gives him her attention, everyone start looking at them
"So I was thinking that I should,I mean ,that we should tie the knot since you are the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with and I'm hopeing I'm the man you want  to be with too"
Korra's eyes widened as he went down on a knee, and took out the box that contain the betrothal necklace
"Korra, I love you more than the life itself, and I want to ask you will you marry me?" He said opening the box reveal the necklace 
She looked at him with loving eyes and finally managed to say " yes Mako yes" Mako give her a wide smile. He took out the necklace and placed it on her neck. Everyone cheers
"Korra's getting married! korra's getting married!" Ikki said jumping up and down
"How romantic" jinorra said
"Welcome to the family son" tonraq said hugging Mako
"Congrats bro" Bolin said hugging him as well
