she's different

HOPE WOKE UP in the morning to a knock on her door.

"Why is she so beatiful after waking up," Caroline's groaned, pouting. "My hair always looks likes a rats nest."

"That's because you don't have the flawless appearances like us Mikaelson's do, love," Rebekah said with a smirk.

Caroline narrowed her eyes and stuck her tongue out at the blonde Original.

Sighing, Hope sat up quickly, running her fingers through her hair and down her face. Looking around, she took in the room, realizing that her being in another universe was, in fact, real and she wasn't dreaming it.

"Ho — Hope?" A boy's voice called out which made her jump out of bed with a defensive stance. "I'm Scott," he stated as he stayed on the other side of the door, and he heard her let out a breath of relief. "My mom is at work, but she wanted me to wake you up. We have school in two hours."

"A boy?!" Klaus exclaimed, scowling. "I don't like this."

"Of course you don't, Nik," Freya mused. Even Elijah was cracking a grin at this.

Hope didn't say anything, and she just stayed in the same place before she heard him walk away. She bit her lip and popped her back and neck before walking towards the closet. She pulled out an outfit, not really caring what it looked like, and made her way towards her bathroom to take a shower.

"I am glad that it didn't decide to show her in the shower. That would've been awkward," Caroline mused before Bonnie and Elena giggled at her antics.

Both Kaleb and MG look like they were about to throw up at the possibility of seeing Hope naked. It not that they didn't think she was pretty or anything, it's just that they considered her a sister.

Landon froze at the thought of seeing his crush, almost to be girlfriend, naked. Then, his face lit up a bright red when Lizzie noticed his reaction and sent him a wink and a smirk.

It was about an hour and a few minutes later when Hope slowly walked down the stairs, and she heard movement in the kitchen which had her freezing. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, mentally telling herself to be brave.

As she turned the corner to go into the kitchen, she awkwardly made her way to the kitchen island, and shuffled on her feet until the boy who was making a bagel turned to her.

Upon seeing her, Scott choked on the bagel he was eating, and his eyes widened.

"Awww!"" All the girls cooed at his reaction.

There she stood, in high-waited blue jeans, a black v-neck, a new set of black high-heeled boots that made her taller than she really was. Her hair was lightly curled and laying on one shoulder as the rest laid behind, flowing mid-way down her back. She wore no makeup, other than some mascara and lipgloss that Melissa had given her.

"She really is your daughter," Kol mused as he looked over at Klaus and Hayley who smiled at that, taking it as a compliment.

"Uh, you must be Melissa's son that she was telling me about," she awkwardly told him and smiled as he nodded his head quickly. "Did she... did she tell you about me?"

He offered her a bagel, and eyed her as he smelt something a little off, but ignored it due to the night he had. "She said your name was Hope, that you're in the same grade as me, and that you don't have anyone to take care of you, so Noah called her to take you in."

Hope nodded and looked away from his puppy brown eyes. Her blue eyes shine with pain before she took in a deep breath, and took the bagel from him, spearing the cream on it.

"Oh!" He suddenly exclaimed and she gripped the butter knife in her hand, her jaw clenching as her first instinct was to stab.

"Yup, she's definitely Klaus' daughter," Kol joked and everyone laughed, except Klaus who scowled at him before looking toward the screen with a fond look on his fade. "Stab first, then maybe say sorry. Wait—" he paused with a thoughtful expression, "never mind, Klaus doesn't know what that word is."

Klaus went straight back to scowling while everyone laughed at his reaction. Even Elena was covering her mouth as she quietly giggled.

She relaxed when he laid a book-bag on the table. "My mom told me to make sure you got this. She has suddenly remembered that you needed actually needed school supplies, so she just grabbed the stuff I don't use, and gave you one of my old bags."

Hope smiled, glad that Melissa hasn't wasted anymore money on her. She grabbed the bag and flung it over her shoulder with a kind smile. "Tell her thank you."

Scott smiled. "Sure."

Suddenly, the front door opened, and Hope spun around with wide eyes as a boy with a buzz cut came running into the house, and towards them.

"Oh, my god!" He suddenly exclaimed as his eyes met her's, and he skidded to a stop, his honey brown eyes widening in shock. "You are—"

"Hope," Scott interrupted him with a slight chuckle. He then turned to Hope who rose a brow at the boy. "This is my best friend Stiles."

"Oh, that's a Stiles," Caroline mumbled.

Lizzie tilted her head. "He's cute. Though he would look better with longer hair."

Josie's eyes widened. "Lizzie!"

"What?" She asked, confused on what she had said wrong. "I said he was cute, not ugly!"

Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena all shared a look before giggling.

Hope turned to the buzzcut boy and pursed her lips as she remembered Kenya mentioning a 'Stiles' when she walked into the station. "Nice to meet you, Stiles," she said, instead of questioning his name choice.

"She didn't say it!" Stiles exclaimed with a huge smile on his face which confused the auburn haired girl. "You didn't say it," he muttered as he stared at her.

She rose a singular brow. "Say what?"

Scott walked around the table and towards his best friend. "How much Adderall have you had today?" Hope lowered her brow upon realizing that Stiles has ADHD.

"That explains a lot," Damon mused, pulling Elena closer to him, kissing her on the top of her head. Although he gave the appearance that he was comfortable, he was far from it. He was ready for one of the Mikaelson's to attack. Who could blame him, though?

"A lot," he said which had Hope snickering under her breath when his eyes had widened comically when he said those words.

"We should probably go now before we're late. Hope has to go to the office and give them something," Scott stated and Hope's eyes widened as she suddenly remembered that she has to go to public school. "Come on, Hope."

Hope followed after them and smiled at the sight of a blue jeep. "Is this yours?" She asked Stiles who turned to her quickly, nodding profusely. "Nice."

"That is not nice," Rebekah said, surprised that the jeep was still running by the way it looked.

Scott had let her jump into the back before getting into the passenger seat. He glanced back at her when he heard her heartbeat pick up. "You good?"

Hope nodded slowly. "It's just weird," she murmured as she stared out the window.

"She looks so lost and confused," Hayley said, swallowing thickly. She hates that her daughter is out in the world without her.

Hope sat on opposite side of the room from Stiles and Scott in Chemistry, and the teacher was handing out a test. She had told him about how she wasn't here to learn anything that might be on the test, but he demanded she took the test anyway. She had growled and ended up bending one of her pencils in anger and annoyance.

Sighing, she pulled out another pencil from her book-bag, and was about to begin taking the test when she overheard Stiles and Scott's conversation. She perked up slightly and listened in, intrigued on what was so important that they were willing to talk about in class.

"All right, it's causing me severe mental anguish to say this, but he's right," Stiles said, confusing the tribrid. What was he going on about?

Scott sighed. "I know."

Stiles leaned forward into his seat more. "What if the next body part she steals is from someone who's still alive?"

"What in the bloody hell are they talking about?" Rebekah asked, leaning forward in her seat.

"This is such a weird conversation to have in the middle of a test," Elena commented with a frown, but also intrigued. What were they talking about?

Hope's eyes widened as her brain registered his words. What the hell was he talking about and who was 'she'?!

"This is a pop quiz, Mr. Stilinski!" Mr. Harris, the teacher called out. "If I hear your voice again, I may be tempted to give you detention for the rest of your high school career."

Hope turned to Stiles as he huffed. "Can you do that?"

Harris sighed. "Well, there it is again. Your voice. Triggering the only impulse I've ever had to strike a student repeatedly and violently. I'll see you at 3:00 for detention."

Hope growled quietly and rose a brow as she decided to speak up. "Mr. Harris, if I recall correctly, I think that was a threat? And I know there is no way the Principle would allow a teacher to threaten a student who, as we all know, is a minor. Should I go take a walk down to the Office and have a chat with him?" She crossed her arms as he glared at her.

"Go girl!" Caroline cheered and jumped out of her seat with a wide smile. "I like her already!"

Bonnie pulled her blonde down back to her seat, but smiled too. She quite liked the young Mikaelson girl, too, even though she kind-of hates the rest of her family.

"That's the Hope I remember," Landon murmured to himself with a fond smile.

Hayley grinned, she taught her daughter to stand up for herself and others. It's good and refreshing to see that on the screen, knowing that she didn't fail her daughter.

"And you are?" He asked her, challenging her with his eyes.

She tilted her head as she kept eye contact. She is a Mikaelson, a tribrid, and she will be not be challenged by a mere mortal who was a jackass. "Hope—" She stopped herself short as she almost said her real name. "Hope McCall."

"Ah, the cousin," Harris said as he looked between Scott and Hope. "You both will be joining in detention if you say another word."

Hope scoffed and glanced over at Stiles and Scott who was looking at her in awe. She sent a small smile towards them before looking back towards her test.

Suddenly, a boy ran out of the room, holding his nose, and Hope rose a brow at his retreating figure.

"What the—"

Later, as Hope was walking down the hall, she overheard a conversation between two girls, and she stopped and glanced over at the girl who they were talking about.

The girl had long brown hair, soft porcelain skin, and a tall, lean body. And with her brown eyes. she reminded her much of Josie Saltzman.

"Not her sister, her aunt. The one who murdered all those people," the girl with her hair up stated, glancing at the girl with long brown hair.

"You mean the crazy bitch who killed all those people??" The second girl — Harley, from what Hope heard from one of her classes — stated with a scoff.

"Yeah, the fire, all those animal attacks - it was her aunt," the other girl stated.

"Are you kidding? I sit next to her in class," Harley stated in disgust.

Growling, Hope walked towards the two girls, her heels clicking harshly on the tiled floor, she she stopped the girl's who who about to walk away. "Do you think it's cool and edgy to judge someone by their family?" She asked harshly, glaring at the girl's who scoffed at her. "No, answer me, you psychotic bitches," she spat out, blocking the girl's path again. "She is not her aunt or whoever killed those people. She is her own person, so, if you're going to talk bad about someone, you better make sure I'm not there or my first will meet your nose and it won't be pretty."

Lizzie's eyes widened in surprise at the rage from Hope before understanding where the tribrid was coming from. Afterall, once everyone found out she was a Mikaelson, they all judged her even if they knew she hadn't done anything too terrible to be considered evil.

Elena looked over at the Mikaelson's and noticed unshed tears in Klaus Mikaelson's eyes. She frowned and faced the screen.

She then abruptly turned to face the girl they were talking about, but found her nowhere. She frowned and smelled her scent and followed it to a nearby classroom. Peaking in through the window to the classroom, she smiled as she saw Scott and her kissing.

"Awwww!" All the girls cooed at the sight.

"At least he won't be going for my daughter," Klaus commented which made his family look over at him with raised brows. "What? There is no way I'm allowing her to date before she is a hundred years old."

"A hundred?" Bonnie asked and then clenched her hands at her sides when all the Mikaelson's turn to her. "Wouldn't she be dead at that point?"

"No, love, she would be a vampire," Rebekah stayed with an eye roll. Although she really doesn't want to see her niece go through the transition, but she knows it's pretty much bound to happen at some point.

Nodding to herself, she began making her way out of the school, knowing that Scott was preoccupied, and Stiles was in detention, so that meant she had to walk back to the McCall's.

But, she decided against it and decided to take a walk through the woods and get used to the town, and maybe find something that can help her contact her universe.

"I want to know how she really got to this different universe, I am still a little lost on that," Freya stated and everyone else nodded in agreeing. Except the Scooby Gang.

They knew that Malivore was a bottomless pit full of monsters and Hope was the only one to destroy it, but they didn't understand how it was also a portal to another dimension.

SADLY, HOPE HAD come across nothing that might help her with finding a way back to her homeland, but she did find a cute ice cream shop. She had used some left over money that Melissa had given her, and paid for an ice cream cone.

After she had finished it, it was nighttime, and she was walking through the woods again. It was peaceful and beautiful, so she decided to enjoy it while she could.

But, that's when she heard grunting and growls. She lowered herself to the ground and crawled to an edge of a small cliff, and looked down to see a man hanging by his wrists by a trip wire. But, the closer she looked, she saw the man's face and canines, meaning he was a werewolf. But, obviously a different kind.

"What the—?" Most of the audience sounded together in surprise at the sight before them.

She then gasped as she saw five men approach the helpless werewolf, and she growled when she saw one of them holding a sword.

She stayed quiet and watched the scene unfold before her, not knowing what to say or do when the old man walked up the werewolf who resorted back to his man features.

"No..." Hope trailed off as she saw the old man hold the sword up. But, before he could swing, Hope muttered a spell under her breath and made a horizontal line with her finger, and the trap that held the werewolf up, was cut, and he fell to the ground.

"Damn, never thought I would see a Mikaelson save someone," Damon commented which made the Mikaelson family turn and glare at me. "I mean... do you blame me?"

"Fair enough," Kol smirked and shrugged.

He jumped up quickly and went to run off when another man came up to him, and tasered him which made him freeze long enough for her old man to cut the bottom half of the man off with a clean cut.

"No!" Elena shouted and covered her mouth with her hand as Bonnie and Caroline gasped beside her.

"That's sick!" Kaleb cringed and looked away, swallowing thickly.

"Man... that's gotta hurt so much," Mg stated and frowned deeply, his hand balled into a fist was raised to his mouth.

"Oh, god!" Hope gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. Tears came to her eyes and she tried her best to not run out in the open, and attack.

Upon hearing some rustling near the hunters, Hope glanced around with narrowed eyes, and her blue eyes widened when she spotted Scott with a man who was about twenty-five. And she watched as they ran off with inhuman speed.

"Kill him!" Klaus shouted and then rose a brow when everyone turned to him with questioning and exasperated expressions. "What? Clearly he is hiding something."

"Doesn't mean they should kill him," Josie said, a crease between her brows.

"What the hell is going on here?" She asked through a panicked breath before she scrambled away from the edge, and took off running.

"That's what I wanna know too," Hayley said as she was chewing on her bottom lip in worry for her daughter.

"They have to be hunters," Alaric stated, clenching his jaw as he continued to think about those men cutting the werewolf in half.

When Hope finally made it to the house, she slowly made her way to Scott's room, and knocked on his door. When she heard no shuffling or breaths, she realized that he hadn't come back yet. So, she sat down on his bed, wanting to confront him.

She was no longer going to stand by and see someone end up dead like she had tonight. It was unlike her to not do everything she possibly can, but it was scary to be in an unknown place with unknown danger. She needed to be careful and she needed to watch who she trusted. But, she figured that Scott had to be one of the good guys. Especially with those puppy brown eyes of his.

"So we get to see some of her thoughts?" Caroline asked with raised brows. "This is weird." Her friends nodded in agreement with her.

It was about an hour or two before he came home, and he had jumped when he saw her sitting on his bed.

"We need to talk," she immediately told him, leaving no room for discussion. "I saw you tonight."

"Damn. She really is a take charge kind of girl," Kol stated with a chuckle. "Like father like daughter."

"Like mother like daughter," Rebekah corrected with a smile as she watched her beautiful niece become her own person.

His eyes widened and he began to stutter. "I don't — I don't know what you're talking about."

"Cut the bullshit, diphead," Lizzie rolled her eyes.

"Cut the bullshit, Scott," she told him, standing up from his bed. She walked around his room, finally understanding why she smelt something off when she first had walked into the household. "I saw you tonight when that werewolf was cut in half. And I saw you with that guy, whatever the hell his name is. You both ran off with speed unlike a human's." She turned to face him to see he had began to sweat and stutter over his words. "You're a werewolf, aren't you?"

He stuttered out a response, but it didn't even sound like actual words. He then sighed and sat down on his bed, laying his face on his hands. "Yes," he whispered out and then looked up at her. "You are too, aren't you?"

She sighed and nodded, running her fingers over his desktop. "Yes. It's a long story, but I am." She then turned to him with sorrowful eyes. "You need to tell me what it going on so I can help save people. I don't want what happened tonight to that guy happen to anyone else."

Scott nodded, meeting her eyes. "I'll tell you everything you need to know."
