So on the latest part of her spam, JimmyJamesMadison had a request that she write a haiku about how the platypus is the only mammal to lay eggs... and she did it(it's hilarious btw, you should read it 😉). This inspired me to post a poem that I wrote about a month ago.
It was for my biology class. We were given a list of nine activities to do about photosynthesis. We had to do three. Everyone else did the easy ones, they said it was impossible to write a poem about photosynthesis. I took that as a challenge. I didn't just write a poem, no, I stepped it up. I decided to make it rhyme, and was mostly successful.
I'm not a very good poet, but I did my best. I was kind of embarrassed to post this because it's kind of dumb, but here goes...

Heterotrophs need to get energy
They receive that from plants and from meat.
But autotrophs too, to survive, need to eat
But from where do they receive it?

The answer, my friends, is from the sun
And the process you'll learn is really quite fun
To absorb light is step number one
The chlorophyll absorbs it.

Chlorophyll, which makes the plant green
Whether it is some grass, or a leaf, or a bean
It's a pigment that the plant really needs
In order to photosynthesize

Sunlight's converted to chemical energy
That's stored in NADPH and ATP
This will eventually feed you and me,
This energy becomes sugar.

This happens when those compounds and carbon combine
And happens in the stoma in a short time
It provides glucose which the plant finds fine
And that it photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis happens in the chloroplast,
Then the energy is released last
After the light and dark reactions have passed
That is the wonder of plants

I know there was a bit of a stretch at the end, but play along 😂
I put in all that hard work and my teacher didn't even compliment me or write 'good job' on my paper! What the heck! What do you guys think? Should she have drawn me a smiley face?
