More Thoughts
I really hoped I wouldn't have to post another part like this again....
13 days ago I posted about three school shootings that occurred. Today I'm posting about another one.
This afternoon there was a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
This one is a really big deal. It's not that the others were less important, it's just that they already believe there to 14 victims and they're still counting.
Not very much information has come out yet, but this is disgusting and horrible and I can't even think of enough words to completely describe my anger and sadness about this tragic event.
I want to be upset, but I've become almost numb to these kinds of things. As of today I have written about five different shootings in this book. I just can't believe there have been so many so close together.
I don't know what to do other than pray for the families of everyone involved, whether they were a victim or witness.
As cheesy and commercially-driven as Valentines Day is, it is still a celebration of love. But today we had this expression of hatred and anger and I feel such sympathy for families who will forever have the thought of a holiday, a day where everyone celebrates, be tarnished and filled with this kind of pain; a day people look forward to, marking the day they lost a part of themselves.
Please, please keep these people in your thoughts. Even if you don't pray, just be thinking of these people. Don't forget them.
