Bronners
yourbrothercrutchie was talking about already listening to Christmas music and being Christmassy. Me, being that type of person, got super excited. I started talking all about Bronner's, a HUGE Christmas store in Michigan. Like, 7 acres huge.
I decided that since Christmas is coming up in seven weeks that I'd tell you all about it.
I was actually there the same day I started this spam book!
Bronners is in Eastern Michigan (the thumb) about two hours from where I live. It's located in a city called Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth has German roots and is known for its beautiful Bavarian architecture. It's actually known as "Michigan's Little Bavaria".
Next we have Zehnders. They own the hotel/water park from my first part(it literally shares a parking lot with Bronners). It also has this amazing restaurant pictured below.
In lots of the restaurants, the waitresses wear Bavarian styled dresses and the food here is some of the best I've EVER had. We're going there this weekend for my mom's birthday(which means we'll stop by Bronners too!!!) As you can see in the pictures, Frankenmuth does have horse drawn carriages as well.
Now onto Bronners. The facts:
Bronners has more than 300 decorated Christmas trees and as many as 100,000 individual lights. It also has decorations and gifts from 50 nations.
Bronner's stocks "Merry Christmas" ornaments in more than 40 languages.
Bronner's has over 150 styles of nutcrackers and over 500 different styles of Nativity scenes
Bronner's artists personalize over 400,000 ornaments annually.
If all the light sets sold in one year at Bronner's were stretched out in a continuous line, they would span approximately 485 miles.
Over two million guests come to Bronner's every year. The record number of guests in one day was 25,981 on Nov. 26, 1994. The record for people arriving in the first half hour after opening was on a Sunday when 2,900 guests arrived. The weekend after Thanksgiving is Bronner's busiest of the year with as many as 50,000+ guests.
Their Santa sees 19,000 children from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Bronners has been visited by Andy Williams, Faith Hill, Dave Coulier, First Lady Laura Bush, and 3 of the von Trapps(Maria, Rosmarie, and Elisabeth).
With Austria's special permission, Bronner's built a replica of the Oberndorf, Austria, Silent Night Memorial Chapel in 1992 as a tribute to the Christmas hymn "Silent Night". (A verse of "Silent Night" is displayed in over 300 languages on the Silent Night chapel grounds)
Their salesroom signs say "thank you" and "welcome" in 60 languages.
They play Christmas music all year. They are also open all year, bar New Years, Thanksgiving, Easter, and Christmas.
Their motto is, "Enjoy CHRISTmas, It's His birthday; Enjoy LIFE, It's His Way."
Now on to the pictures!
This is outside(obviously). It is 17 feet tall! I've taken pictures with it, it really is huge!
This guy is 15 feet tall!
That is their Christmas Lane. It has over 100,000 lights and is 1/2 mile long.
That's the Silent Night Chapel. It's really pretty when lit up at night and the inside is so peaceful and nice.
Now, the store!!!
Honestly, it's one of my favorite places on Earth. If any of you happen to drop by Michigan, I'd highly recommend stopping by!
