I was just trying to work on some of my writing and I started thinking and came up with a question for all of you. It might sound weird and kinda boring, but I was wondering, when you're writing or reading a newsies story, how do you picture the characters?

Do you imagine the actors from the musical? Which ones? Or do you have your own picture? A bit of both?

I myself see a mix. I tend to see the characters as people in my own imagination that are inspired by the actors in Newsies Live. So like, I imagine them similar to the actors, but a little bit different.

I love Jeremy Jordan and he's my favorite Jack, but he's pretty old(for the role) so I tend to imagine my own Jack, but Katherine and Davey look more like Kara and Ben to me.

With Spot I picture someone with a similar complexion, height, and build to Tommy, but a bit younger and with a softer face. And Race I tend to see as a mix between Ben and Peter Pan-as crazy as that sounds(I think it's the personality).

What about you guys? How do you picture the characters?
