Chapter 9
Deep in the forest, Skellington was trying to keep Pixle's leg from bleeding so much while figuring out how to get her, M-minus, and himself back to Magical Meadow.
"This is bad... We can't stay here or else that titan will find us. But I can't carry both of you back to the meadow because my magic needs to recharge." Skellington said.
"I actually know someone who doesn't live far. She can help us get home before sunset," M-minus said.
"Who is she?" Skellington asked.
"She's a puppet with pink hair. Her name is Sharlette, she's been able to help me in the past," he replied.
"Well, let's just hope she'll be able to help us now," Skellington said.
Skellington handed M-minus his phone and they called Sharlette.
"Okay. Thanks Sharlette. Get here as soon as you can. One of us is bleeding out badly... What do you mean you're right above us?!" M-minus asked.
"It means I'm already here," Sharlette said, slowly lowering from the air.
Sharlette was a literal living puppet. She had a white face with black markings giving a bit of a clown-like look but nothing terrifying. She also had pink hair that was up in two ponytails. As for the rest of her, she was in a black and white uniform with white stripes on the sleeves and lower pants legs. Her body though seemed to be solid black. It was almost like her actual face was just a mask.
"Are you really able to help us?" Skellington asked.
"Of course. I'll carry your injured friend while you help M-minus," Sharlette replied.
M-minus only had a few bruises but still could barely walk, but since Pixle was running out of time, Sharlette flew Pixle up and out to the meadow within 15 minutes. And within proper timing they were all at Magical Meadow.
As soon as they got to the village, they got to work faster than the speed of light. They first had to make the potion to turn Afton back to normal. Once Afton was human again, he instantly got to work on the mechanical leg for Pixle while she was in the hospital getting medical scans and surgeries dealing with whatever damage was done to her.
It took Pixle five whole months to fully recover, and even receive the mechanical leg that Afton was working on. Thankfully when Afton finished making the leg, they got it installed right away. Everybody waited outside the emergency room, waiting for when were able to see her.
"Why does it have to take so long?" Skellington asked.
"They're not just installing the leg, Skellington. They're also doing a number of medical magic scans(MMC). To see why she was glitching," Afton answered.
"It's been five hours, Afton. They should be done by now," Henry replied.
Just then, one of the doctors came out of the room.
"Are you all here for Pixle?" the doctor asked.
"Yes, how is she?" Afton asked.
"We had never seen anyone in such bad condition in a long time, but she's fine now. And you'll be happy to hear that both her and the baby are perfectly fine," the doctor said.
"WHAT?!"
Everybody was surprised but then Skellington remembered that six and a half months ago something had happened. Pixle and Skellington worked together in a kids magical hospital in Skellington's home world, and one of the few things that they worked on there was healing potions. But there was one time that a potion backfired and went into Pixle. Pixle ended up acting up for a month before she was able to go back to work. That was the only reasonable thing that made sense to cause this, because they were both taught that some of the side effects have physical affects in more ways than one.
"How many months is she?" Skellington asked.
"Almost seven months sir," the doctor answered.
"Can we see her now?" Sharlette asked.
"Yes but considering she only recently came out of surgery to install her leg, she's not exactly in the right mind set. So try not to stress her," the doctor answered.
"Thank you."
They went inside and saw Pixle trying to stand on her new leg, with help from the nurse, smiling happily with her tail wagging.
"Hi guys."
