Chapter Eight
john b!!

3rd Person POV

she had woken up the next morning to bruises on her hands as she sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. she hadn't gone back to the chateau, she didn't know if she wanted to but she woke up to sarah standing there and she sighed.

"whats up sarah?" she asked the girl and sarah sighed as she stared at the sight of the bruises in soft sadness

"there's something that you need to see" she told the girl and juno got up from the bed as she nodded. she got dressed and changed. she left the house and when she got to the camerons, she was led to the dining room where they alls stood and looked at the walls.

"This place still freaks me out." john b said and juno nodded

"yeah you can say that again" juno spoke

"I know, right? It's the island room. It's been here this whole time." sarah stated but juno wasn't listening and saylor wasn't either. they were both staring at the girls bruised and bloodied hands in fear, he had never thought that she would beat someone but she did and he didn't know what to do about it.

"who did this?" juno asked and then they turned and heard wheezie.

"the weirdos. that sick lady and her attack dog, they showed up last night and they wanted to talk to rafe" wheezie said and they all looked at each other

"pale blonde lady" jj said

"with crutches" kiara exclaimed

"what happened?" john b asked her.

"at first they searched the whole house looking for something, and then rafe told me to go upstairs but I didn't want to miss out so I listened through the grate and they were talking about getting across the sand flamingo" wheezie said

"the cross of santo domingo" kiara said

"yeah and they were talking about angels " wheezie told them

"this humongous tree is still on goat island" JJ exclaimed

"holy shit jj angel oak, we have to go now" juno said and they all ran out of the house and to the twinkie. they drove to angel oak and juno stayed in the car with saylor as they let them have their moment, she had a feeling it wouldn't end well.

"they got the cross" juno whispered in anger.  they waited until the others left. pope stormed out of the bushes and walked over as they followed. they looked down and was met with a casket

"Cecilia tanny. Denmarks wife. he wasn't talking about the cross, he buried her at the foot of the angel" Pope exclaimed

"she was his true treasure" sarah spoke and they all kneeled down, juno held john bs hand as saylor held sarahs

"Denmark was hung for burying his wife, and now they defiled her grave" Pope explained as he lifted her necklace and Sarah lifted the ring as she smiled at saylor.

" We can't leave her like this, she deserves better," juno told them and they stood up as JJ and john b lifted the cover, pope got the flowers with juno and they put them down. they buried her again and JJ packed down the dirt as pope started to speak again, they listned to him until JJ spoke and he climbed on the twinkie with kiara . he pulled out a telescope and handed it to pope, they read the inscription

"the cross is at the church" pope said and they all ran to twinkie , they drove until they got to tide and they started to talk

"I think we're screwed" juno exclaimed and they grabbed onto something as john b ran through and they all yelled but john b went off road and they got out of the car.

"I can take my dads truck" Kiara spoke

"I'm already kicked out v, it really cant get any worse, ill be back" Kiara stated . kiara left and juno climbed onto the roof of the twinkie with pope and sarah and saylor. they watched john b closely, it was all okay until he climbed into the water and he was dragged down

"JOHN B!!" juno yelled and she hoped off of the twinkie as she ran to the boy and grabbed the knife from her side pocket. she stabbed the alligator multiple times and it came up in the water, she wrapped her arm around john b as she brought him back to the twinkie and she helped him climb up. she took off the long sleeve that she had and she looked at her boyfriend

"this is really going to fucking hurt" she told him and he nodded as she wrapped it around him and he bit his lip tightly.

"look who it is?" Pope said and they watched as kiara and jj pulled in.

"okay well john b got bit by a fucking gator and is losing a whole lot of blood" juno spoke and they turned their attention to her

"wait for real?" JJ asked

"no jj I'm lying" she yelled at them and they started to fight

"shut up! seriously, guys, I cant take it anymore, all right? everyone just cut it out for a second. look, I just helped my dad leave this island for good , like, he's not ever coming back, he's straight up just like Spanish just "bon voyage" " JJ explained

" all we got.. and I know for a fact all I got is you guys, okay? you're it. and I've come too close to losing you, all of you. i mean , shit like you almost drowned, pope you've been kidnapped, juno you've been shot, john b you were almost dinner to a freaking gator bro this blaming each other is some kook ass bullshit, all right? we don't do that, we're pogues" JJ said and they clapped for him

"truly beautiful jj" juno said and they got back into the twinkie, jj yelled in excitement and with that they drove to the church. they walked into the church and they began to look around

pope used the telescope as he looked up and noticed a weirdly shaped piece of wood and with that he climbed the wall

"pope I am not saving you if you fall" juno said and he climbed up as he hit the beam

"there are wasps above you which I know for fact that you are allergic to" saylor told the boy and sarah ran out as she grabbed a crowbar and then she came back inside with it

"throw it" Pope said and she threw it up to him as he caught it and started to hit the wood

"guys that's the fucking gold, its the cross" she said but pope started to get stung and he almost fell

"POPE WAIT" she yelled up and with that he let go and fell

"pope you alright? " she said as he landed on the cushions and the cross started to fall towards them. they didn't notice though only pope did and he had one job, move himself and the others

they had gotten the cross but at what cost?
