[02] Memories & Deucalion
Kelsey's POV
Today it's the first day back to school. I'm usually excited to go school, but today, I'm just not feeling it. My limbs are aching from when Peter woke me up 3 fricken am in the morning just to do a small amount of training before I go school.
Am I upset? No....I'M FRICKEN FRUSTRATED AND ANNOYED I DIDN'T ANY SLEEP AT ALL! Reluctantly, I get out of bed and walk downstairs, where I head straight to the coffee machine. I think I'm gonna need more than four cups to stay awake.
"Good morning." The irritating voice of Peter sings.
"Is it?" I sigh, getting a mug out.
"Someone's not a morning person." Yeah, and I wonder why. Putting my mug down on the counter top, I turn to face Peter. "Well Peter, I just love it when you wake me up a stupid-o'clock in the morning of everyday. So I'm sorry if I'm not a morning person."
Peter laughs. "No need to bite my head off, I'm just trying to be nice." Since when does Peter try to be nice? Never. "Ha, you being nice, yeah okay."
"So asking if you want me to drive you to school, isn't being nice?" He asks, taking a biscuit from the jar.
"No, it's being creepy. And I'm not going school, I'm too tired." I tell him as I wait for my coffee to brew. "Yes, you are." Excuse me. Is he really telling me what to do. Who does he think he is, my dad?
"You can't tell me what to do, you're not my dad." I defend, taking my coffee and adding a little more milk in so I can drink it now.
"Well one; I just did. And two; I could've been your dad, since your mom and I were a great together, that was until your idiot brother and spaz of a friend ruined it." Oh my god, can you imagine if mom actually did marry Peter.
I would end up with 4 new siblings, there would be no silence.
The house would be messy and I'd have to clean it all up since mom would be working her ass off. Scott would be stressed out even more, and would probably get kicked out of school for failing literally everything.
Peter would have to be a stay at home dad, but I can't see that happening. Peter doesn't seem the family oriented kind of man.
But mom would never marry Peter. "Okay, first off, mom would never marry you. That would be too weird. Second of all, Stiles isn't a spaz, he's just a little hyper sometimes. And Scott, okay he's an idiot, but I only I can call him that."
"Whatever, you're going to school. Now go get dressed and meet me downstairs." Urgh, I can never win. Taking my coffee, I start making my way to the stairs.
After finally getting dressed, drinking multiple cups of coffee, eating breakfast and getting my bag ready, I went downstairs where Peter sat in his car.
The drive was quite. Only the faint sound of the music was playing. But it was fine with me, I didn't have much energy to say anything anyway.
As we pulled up at the school, it occurred to me that this is probably the third time Peter had been here since he trapped us in the school at night and bit Lydia on the night of the winder formal. I hope for everyone's sake he doesn't start going on another killing spree.
"I think Derek's picking you up later, if not, I will." Peter tells me.
"Um thanks." I lightly smile before heading into the building.
Okay so, what do I have today. English, History, break, Economics, Art, lunch, Maths, and then Chemistry. Hmm, seems okay. Maybe for break I'll have a nap in the corner of the library, and for lunch.
Oh god. Who do I sit with at lunch?
I can't sit with Lydia because bitch-face Allison will be with her. Scott and Stiles won't me hanging out with them all the time. I guess I could sit with Danny, but I'm pretty sure he'll also be with Lydia.
So where so I fit in? Do I fit in?
I feel like an outsider. I have no friends. Erica, Boyd and Isaac are missing, so now I have no one. And I'm not going to make new friends, I don't want to. I won't replace the friends I've already got.
They're not even friends anymore, they're family.
I wish Derek was here. I wish he was a student again so I would have someone to hang out with. Walking to my locker, I hold back the tears I felt were going to escape and put a smile on.
Entering my lock combination, I swing the door open. Inside, books laid on the sides and photos stuck on the door. But these weren't just photos.
Theses were memories, happy memories with people I love.
Myself, Scott and mom eating Cotten candy at a fair we went to. Me, Scott and Stiles dressed up for Halloween. Scott as Spider-Man, Stiles as Batman, and I'm a crayon. Yeah, a crayon. Don't ask...
There's also a few pictures with me and Lydia, then me with Scott and dad which was in the summer a few years ago.
Some with Erica, Boyd and Isaac...but they had to turn their heads or close their eyes because of the flash, so I took one without flash, and it was fine. Some with the leather jacket gang separately.
And the last one is of Derek sleeping. Yeah, it's a bit creepy, but he wouldn't let me take a photo of him.
Knowing the bell would go off soon, I start walking to my class. But that doesn't happen straight away when you bump into someone, or a couple of someone's. Making your books fall all over the floor.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry." I say rather fast, bending down on the floor as I attempt to pick up the books.
"Uh, let us help you." One of the boys said before clutching down at my height. About to pick up the last book, the other boy standing up grabbed it. "Thanks." I say before standing up, looking directly at them. My exact word for theses boys, wow. They're twins, gorgeous twins to be exact.
"No problem." One of them smiled, I'm guessing he's the straight one.
"I'm Aiden, and this is my brother Ethan." He smiled, holding onto the books he picked up from the floor. Okay, so Ethan is the gay one, perfect for my Danny boy.
"Welcome to Beacon Hills High, I'm Kelsey." I smiled back, shuffling the books into my bag, where I should've put them in the first place. God I'm so stupid.
"Kelsey McCall, right?" Ethan asked as his brother handed me the books he held for me to place in the bag. He knows my name? Hmm, strange.
"The one and only."
"Well, we have to go now, see you around." Ethan smiles before slowly walking away. "Hope we bump into each other again." Aiden winks before walking side by side with his brother.
Okay, that was weird.
Shaking off what just happened, I walk into my class room to see only one seat available. Great. I'm surprised Allsion would even sit in front of Scott, I thought she wanted to get away from him, well I guess she's not looking at him.
Naturally, I would sit next to Stiles, but that seat is already taken by Lydia. So now, the only seat left is behind Lydia, which is okay I guess. We should really have a seating plan or something.
As I sat down, my phone starting ringing, and then everyone's phones started going off after mine. Taking out my phone, I unlock the screen. As I'm about to read the text, a feminine voice reads out the exact words as she walks into the room with the clicking of her heels.
"The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of an immense darkness." She started.
"This is the last line to the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class. Phones off, everyone." The brunette lady finished.
Turing my phone off and putting it in my pocket, I use my full attention to the front of the class, where I learn that her name is Miss. Blake. She seems nice, but there's something not right with her. Maybe it's the fact that I'm jealous of her hair, I don't know.
Before I could get zoned into the lesson, Scott and I were called out because apparently mom needed us or something. I hope it's nothing serious. Well, I'm kind of glad to get out of school, saves me sleeping at the desk and getting detention, plus the eating alone at break and lunch.

"Why didn't you tell us before?" Scott asked mom. Apparently, Isaac came into the hospital last night with deep cuts to the stomach, so was scheduled for an operation this morning. But the cuts should've healed before that happens, so he should be okay, I hope.
I wonder what happened. Was it the alphas? Did they hurt him? I swear to god I will rip the heads off the people responsible for the deep cuts that were on my boyfriends body.
"Honestly, I was hoping I didn't have to." Mom said more to Scott than I. "What do you mean?" He asked.
Mom took a deep breath before speaking. "Everything that you've been doing...the extra reading, the summer school, saving up for the bike, even though it scares me half to death...honey, I just didn't wanna disrupt a good rhythm."
"It's not gonna stop. I-I'm gonna be better this year. A better student, a better son, a better brother, a better friend, a better everything. I promise." Scott told mom.
Mom sighed. "Okay. He's in room 215 if he isn't already in surgery."
"Thank you." I smiled before walking to the elevator with Scott. I can't wait to wrap my arms around Isaac, it feels like I haven't seen him in ages. It's been too long. I never want him out of my sight ever again. Okay, well not ever again, I mean he can have time to himself. Just where I know he's safe. Wow, I sound really over protective.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, a blind man with sunglasses walks in. "Would you hit the button for the second floor, please?" He asked politely.
"Yeah." I smiled lightly, even though he wouldn't see it.
Scott and I started to feel really uncomfortable with the blind man just standing there in complete silence. And I hate silence, it's awkward and boring.
About ten seconds later, the elevator doors opened. Thank god for that. "You wouldn't mind helping me out for a second, would you?" The blind man asked Scott and I. "Um...sure." Scott replied, before the man placed his hand on Scott's shoulder.
The guy let go of Scott's shoulder once he was a couple of steps away, which was good because Scott and I need to see Isaac. Walking down corridors, turning left to right and checking the room numbers. We finally found Isaac's room...but he wasn't in it.
"He must be in surgery or something. Come on, let's come back later." Scott tells me. Well mom did say he might he in surgery, but wouldn't he have healed by now? Surely the doctors see that Isaac has no wounds, which means they don't need to go ahead with the operation, right?
"Maybe Derek took him already?" I say.
"Let's go." Scott sighs before we walk back towards the elevator. He has to be here somewhere. Mom would've known of Isaac had left.
As I turned the corner, I could smell werewolf. I could smell Isaac. But not only Isaac, but another werewolf. The muscled bald man had his claws out, and he doesn't look very friendly. Slowly, the man turns to look at Scott and I before pressing a button with a smirk across his lips.
Oh no you don't.
Anger rages inside of me. All I can think about is scratching the smirk off the man's lips. I swear to god, if he lays one finger on my boyfriend, I will be forced to chop off every part of his body into tiny chunks, and feed him to the cats at the animal clinic.
The next thing you know, claws extend from my fingers. Eyes turn amber. Teeth grow sharper and longer. Hair grows from my cheeks, and my ears grow pointer.
Growling, Scott and I charge at the un-named werewolf before the doors close, landing on the floor. Rising our heads, the man had shifted. And he was one of them, an alpha.
Standing to my feet, I punch the alpha in the face...which was a bad move. The alpha roughly pushes me against the side.
I am so going to chop into chunks for that.
Shaking off the pain that soon went, I impale my claws into his thigh about twenty times, to get him off my brothers back. But it didn't work. Instead, the alpha grabbed Scott and lifted him up in the air, before smashing him into the lights. "You're going to pay for that." I growl before punching him in the jaw.
But as I'm about to throw another punch, the alpha's abnormally large hand, grabs me by the throat. Blocking the air, I struggled to breath. "Don't you realize what you're dealing with?" He started. "I'm an Alpha."
Before I could react, Derek appeared from behind, impaling his claws into the alphas back, causing his head to jerk back and let us loose from his grip.
"So am I." Derek replied before throwing the alpha across the corridor. "Aren't you supposed to be in school?" Derek asks, looking down at us. Boy am I glad to see Derek.
Helping us up, Derek pushed the ground level button. "Is he okay?" Scott asked, looking at Isaac who was sitting lifeless in the wheelchair. "He's fine." I smile, knowing Isaac will be awake in no less than a couple of hours. I'm just glad he's okay, I've missed him so much.
I can't wait to be in his arms again.

The four of us arrived at the Hale House for some reason. Derek said something about finding something that will heal Isaac from the inside. Scotty is on the phone with Stiles, telling him to come here. And Derek and I are sitting beside Isaac. Derek could see the worry in my eyes so have me a sympathetic smile to comfort me.
"You don't still live here, do you?" Scott asked as he walked into the room.
"No. The county took it over, but there's something here that I need. It'll help heal a wound from an Alpha." Derek replied.
"Yeah, but it did heal."
"Not on the inside." I told my brother, remembering what Derek had told me. I hope Derek will be able to heal Isaac, I can't loose him.
"Hey, are you gonna tell me who that was back there? That Alpha." Oh god, I wish I could tell Scott about the alpha pack, but I promised Derek I wouldn't. I'm part of Derek's pack now, I have to be loyal, and I will.
"A rival pack. It's my problem. I know you wanna help, and you did." Derek started. "I owe you one. Now go home. Go back to being a teenager." Being a teenager sucks, mainly because of exams and hormones.
Scott was about to walk away when he turn round to face Derek and I. "Uh, hey, Derek." Scott spoke, getting Derek's attention. "If you wanna repay back that favor now...there is something you can do for me." Oh, here we go.
***
So after a few minutes of asking Derek if he can have his tattoo without it healing, Stiles came into the room and joined us. "Yeah, I see it. It's two bands, right?" Derek asked Scott. "What does it mean?"
"I don't know. It's just something I traced with my fingers." So when he had the tattoo done, it had no meaning? Come on, Scott.
"Why is this so important to you?"
Scott looked up. "Do you know what the word "tattoo" means?" He asked Derek.
"To mark something." I answered, remember what the tattooist said. "Well, that's in tahitian. In samoan, it means 'open wound'." My brother started. "I knew I wanted to get a tattoo when I turned 18. I always wanted one. I just decided to get it now, to make it kind of a reward." Reward? Reward for what?
"For what?"
"For not calling or texting Allison all summer." Oh my god. You've got to be kidding me. Scott's meaning for his tattoo is about Allison...seriously? Doesn't Scott have better things to think about other than Allison? What is it with Allison anyway? What's so special about her?
"Even when I really wanted to, even when it was so hard not to sometimes. I was trying to give her the space she wants. Goin' four months later, it still hurts. It still feels like a, uh..."
"Like an open wound." Stiles finished.
"Yeah." And this is when I wish I could say; "dude, could you be more gay?", in Dean Winchesters voice. Rolling my eyes, I signal Derek to get on with it.
"The pain's gonna be worse than anything you've ever felt." Lovely...
"Ah, that's great." Stiles sighed.
"Do it." Scott demands before Derek pulls out a mini blow torch. Hmm, I could use that blow torch on Allison, I'm sure she wouldn't mind me burning a little flesh off her skin. After all, she did stab my boyfriend like a dozen times. It's only fair that I give her the same amount of pain...well, maybe a little more.
"Oh, wow. That's a...that's a lot for me. So I'm gonna take that as my cue. I'm just gonna wait outside." Stiles says as he tries to walk passed Derek. "Nope. You can help Kelsey hold him down." Derek says, pushing Stiles back with his arm.
Wait, what? Why do I have to hold him down. "Kelsey, hold him down."
"Oh my god." I sigh before standing to my feet and holding one side of Scott's shoulder. "Hold him." Derek yelled as he put the blow torch to Scotty's skin.
Scott shouted in pain, squinting his eyes closed, but opened them again to reveal his amber gold eyes. Oh god, he's shifting. Scott growled causing Stiles and I to hold him down harder. After that, many other screams and growls followed. And I'm pretty sure my ear drums have bursted because of it.
"It worked." Scott smiled.
"Well, it looks pretty damn permanent now." Stiles said as he and Scott walked towards the door. "Yeah. I kind of needed something permanent." Scott started. "Everything that's happened to us...everything just changes so fast. Everything's so, uh...ephemeral."
Wow, did Scott actually say that? He really must be studying hard then. I'm so proud. "Studying for the PSAT's?" Stiles asked.
"Yep." Scott nodded before curiously looking at the door. "You painted the door. Why'd you paint the door?" Scott asked. Oh god.
Derek looked up. "Go home, Scott."
"And why only one side?" Scott mumbled, more to himself. Scott held up one hand, revealing his claws.
Bringing a claw to the door, he scratched simple line before seeing part of the alpha pack symbol. "Scott, I think we should go back to school. Don't want to miss any classes, do you?" I tell him, trying to bring his attention away from the door. But he doesn't respond.
Instead, he takes both of his hands and begins to furiously scratch at the newly painted door. Oh dear god. He's ruined it, that was a nice colour red as well.
Scott stepped away from the door so he could see the whole symbol properly.
Sighing, I look at Derek for him to explain, but Scott interrupts. "The birds at school and the deer last night...just like the night I got trampled by the deer when I got bit by the Alpha." Birds at school? Hmm, I'll ask about that later.
For now, Derek and I have more important things to explain...and it's not going to be easy. "How many are there?" Scott asked, looking at Derek.
Giving in, Derek sighs. "A pack of 'em. An Alpha pack."
"All of them? How does that even work?" Stiles questioned.
"I hear there's some kind of a leader. He's called Deucalion." Derek replies before looking at me. "They have Boyd and Erica." I tell them, earning a confused look from both Scott and Stiles.
Not knowing what to continue with, Derek talks for me. "Peter, Isaac, Kelsey, and I have been looking for him for the last four months." And with that said, Scott gave me the 'why-didn't-you-tell-me' look. He's probably going to be asking a lot of questions later.
"Let's say you find them. How do you deal with an Alpha pack?" Scott asked Derek. How will we deal with a whole pack of alphas? Are we strong enough to go against them all? Saying that, how many are there? What if there's twenty of them? How will we compete against that?
"With all the help I can get." Derek replied.
Then out of nowhere, a faint sound of a familiar voice coming from the back of the room asked. "Where is she? Where's the girl?" Isaac. He's awake. And what does he mean? What girl? Who's he talking about?
"What girl?" Derek and I asked almost simultaneously.
__________________________________________________________
I'm back guys! I'm not dead, well, not completely.
Anyway, my excuses for the long hold on the update, are;
1) I started watching American Horror Story with my mum, after everyone demanding me to watch it. And well, I kinda got addicted, and that lead me to watch a whole season within three days. I know, I know, it's not healthy. But I couldn't help myself...
2) I had lots of college work to catch up on (which I hardly done because I got distracted by AHS) and it's due this Thursday...oops :/
3) I was actually ill for a couple of days, but I'm feeling much better now
4) This isn't really an excuse but, my laptop broke...AND I'M LOST WITHOUT IT, I CAN'T FUNCTION! I CAN'T CATCH UP WITH MY FAVOURITE SHOWS...but hopefully sometime this week, it will be fixed...fingers crossed.
~
Enough of that, tell me what you thought of this chapter? Isaac is back, yay! And who is this mysterious girl he asked of her whereabouts? Who is she?
Scott and Stiles now know about the alpha pack, and Derek is willing to get all the help he can to fight and get back Boyd and Erica.
