CHAPTER FIVE
FALLEN ANGEL
"i get down on my knees for you"

A hard blow was landed directly into Dylan's stomach, sending the small girl flying backward. Harshly, her back slammed against a tree trunk, her ass firmly planted ontop of a pile of mud. She groaned loudly.
"Get up!"
It had been a little over a week since Lincoln and Dylan had arrived at the village. The night at the cabin had been one of many. The two hadn't had sex yet, don't worry, but there had been a lot of touching, feeling and kissing. And Dylan's favorite part; a whole lot of cuddling. Things were fortunately not weird between the two. The morning after their first night there had been a little odd, but the two quickly got accustomed to the new part of their relationship.
They refrained from being too touchy in public. Everyone needed some time getting used to Dylan being there. Frankly, all of them were both suspicious and skeptical of her staying there, and the last thing they needed was to believe that Lincoln and brought her there because he was interested in her.
The last seven days had been spent kicking Dylan's ass. Literally. This grounder girl, Delphia, was recruited by Lincoln to teach Dylan how to fight. So far, it had been teaching Dylan how to take a beating. Lincoln had been elsewhere doing whatever. Dylan was eternally greatful she was avoiding the embarrassment of Delphia kicking her ass infront of her. . . love interest?
Dylan had been spending a lot of time with Delphia. She was pretty bad ass, just what Dylan liked in a woman. She was confident, strong, determind and very independent. The two got along great. Delphia was the type of person that usually preferred her own company above anyone else's, but Dylan wasn't too bad to hang around. So far Delphia had taken her fishing, teaching Dylan some tips and tricks on how to catch the fish with either a knife or her bare hands.
Delphia, though a grounder with severe trust issues, found herself trusting Dylan a lot. Something between them just clicked, and the bluntness of Dylan and heavy sarcasm was very entertaining to Delphia. She saw a lot of herself in the Kane girl.
Dylan was exasperated. They had been spending the entire day training combat, and Dylan was over it. She hated loosing and being the worst in stuff. At this rate Delphia would be destroying Dylan's self esteem by the end of the week. Delphia trudged over, smirking down at the girl. She extended her hand to the girl, pulling her up in one swift move. "You'd be dead now." Her English was very broke and not nearly as clean as Lincoln's, but Dylan found her accent cute.
"Yeah, yeah." Dylan dismissed, swatting her hand in the air. "I'm not too sure I'm not."
Delphia chuckled at the sour girl. "Don't worry, you are getting better. Improve- erm, what's the words?"
Dylan was never a spelling bee champion, she actually really fucking hated english back at the ark when they had classes, but it felt kind of nice being the 'smart' one for once. "Improvement." Dylan was the brains for now while Delphia was the muscles.
"Yes, improvement." Delphia repeated. "You are improving."
"So, what do you guys do for fun around here?" Dylan questioned. Delphia shrugged. Having fun wasn't usually a grounder priority. At least not for grounders like Delphia. Training was her idea of fun. Dylan groaned when she was the look on Delphia's face. "You're joking. You can't be serious. You train for fun?"
"It is fun!" Delphia defended. "I don't like sitting around lazy like sky people." Dylan shot her a sour look. Delphia took every chance she had to bash the 'sky people'. Dylan was an especially big fan of it, but she wasn't offended by whatever Delphia had to say. "Actually, I might have an idea. Follow me."
And so Dylan did.

When Dylan was saying she was having the absolute time of her life, it was an understatement. When Delphia first had suggested to Dylan to ride horses, she had been very skeptical. They were huge and absolutely terrifying. At least to Dylan. Actually, Delphia hadn't even suggested it. Dylan had just mindlessly followed her to the stables at the other side of the village. Delphia had to drag Dylan over to one of the horses because Dylan had quite literally made a run for it when she saw them.
Yet here she was, actually sitting ontop of one. Dylan was feeling a mixture of paralyzing fear and excitement as the horse took of running alongside of Delphia and her horse. Dylan probably looked like an idiot as she held the horse tightly as to not fall off. Delphia had bursted out in laughter at Dylan's face.
Dylan was somewhat bonding with the big animal. It was grey all over, except for its black muzzle. Apparently they hadn't even named it, so the first name to pop into Dylan's mind had been Conrad, so that's the name she settled for.
Dylan and Delphia ended up by a beautiful lake next to the plains. While the horses peacefully munched away on the green grass, Delphia and Dylan chatted by the lake. Delphia shared parts of her childhood. Mainly it consisted of training, but there were a few heart warming stories in there too. The grounder girl was more than interested in listening to Dylan talk about the ark. It was scary, but at the same time fascinating. Dylan was a sky girl. She had literally fallen from the sky. Delphia's nickname for her was fallen angel.
Delphia had also given Dylan some insight on the grounder rules. While on the ark any crime was punishable by death, down here they did things differently and a whole lot more fair. Dylan cringed at the many tortures metodes they had, one being slicing traitors up. One cut from each resident in the village.
"Do you miss you're family?" Delphia asked, her eyes locked on the sun slowly setting in the far distance. Dylan would never get over how beautiful the sun looked from earth. Nothing compared.
Dylan sighed sorrowfully at the thought. Training with Delphia helped her get her mind off of things. "Of course I do." Dylan answered honestly. When Delphia said family, Marcus Kane wasn't the only person to come to mind. Bellamy, Clarke, Jasper, Murphy, Octavia. . . Everyone was Dylan's family. Which was why she needed to find them.
"Do you?" Dylan asked after a moment of silence. Dylan watched as Delphia's face feel. The grounder quickly got to her feet.
"It's getting late. We should get back." Delphia stated, her voice cold. Dylan's brows pulled up together, but she refrained from asking any questions. It was obviously a sensetive topic.
Soon enough the two were back at the village. It was getting darker outside, and Dylan was growing tired. It had been a fun day, but an exhausting one. Dylan was yearning for Lincoln. She hadn't seen him in two days. Apparently he was out hunting with some other people from the village. Though Dylan enjoyed Delphia's company, she really just wanted to see Lincoln.
As if he could read her mind, Lincoln yelled out her name from across her and Delphia. Dylan immediately found him grinning at her, a deer slung over his shoulder. Holy shit how is he just holding that thing without breaking a sweat. Lincoln, and all grounders in general, kept surprising Dylan.
Delphia and Dylan parted ways with a 'Goodnight' before the Kane girl jogged over to Lincoln. He had dropped the dead animal by the time he reached her. "How's trading been?" He questioned, ruffling Dylan's hair.
Swatting his hands away, she answered. "You means how getting your ass best been? Very much freaking peachy, thanks for asking." Lincoln grinned widely at her sarcastic response.
"You must've learnt something." Lincoln insisted.
"Yeah, I've learnt how to land on my ass without snapping my tail bone in two." She said. "I have bruises as proof!"
"Do I get to see them?" Lincoln cheekily asked, Dylan's cheeks quickly flaming up at his words.
"I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that and move on." Dylan said, now heading in the direction of their shared cabin. Lincoln fell into step next to her. "I rode a horse today!" Dylan proudly said.
"Really?"
"Yup." She nodded her head. "And I even got to name him. His name is now Conrad." Lincoln's face scrunched up.
"Conrad? What did the poor horse do to you." Dylan rolled her eyes at Lincoln's joke. He had picked up on a whole lot of her sarcasm and jokes. She enjoyed the banter between them, and found it adorable everytime he tried making a joke or sarcastic remark. Lincoln was adorable.
Dylan felt a tug on a loose braid in her hair. "Hey!" She pulled her head away from Lincoln.
"You've braided your hair?" Lincoln observed loudly.
"Yes, well, Delphia did. Whatcha think?" Dylan asked, doing a spin. The several braids in her hair matched Delphia's. Seeing as the braids Lincoln had braided in her hair had made her look like a hot mess, Delphia had altered them. This way, Dylan looked more collected, if you could call it that.
"You look nice." Lincoln complimented. He honestly preferred her hair loose. These braids weren't really her. They were grounder like. But then again, that was the whole point of it. To best blend in she needed to look like them too.
Soon enough the two were by the cabin. By each passing night, Dylan felt more and more comfortable at the village. The odd looks hadn't ran out yet, but less and less we're looking at her like she had two heads. Lincoln had been keeping an extra eye on Dylam for two reasons. Reason number one, he wanted to make sure that she wasn't too affected by the looks and whispers. And reason number two, he wasn't too sure she didn't end up exploding on someone. After all, Dylan was quite the firecracker, her anger issues matching.
"Thanks." Dylan simply replied, looking away to hide the blush creeping its way onto her cheeks. Dylan never blushed, especially not this easily, and especially by some boy.
But then again, Lincoln wasn't just some boy either.

"Why do you hate me." Dylan groaned dramatically. Lincoln simply laughed at the girl along with Delphia.
Only moments ago, the two grounders had informed that her entire day would be spent training, again. Her entire body was sore and aching. Every inch of every muscle on her body was screaming in protest whenever she moved. Training was completely off the table. There was just no way.
"Is this all grounders do? Why do you hate yourselves?" Lincoln, Dylan and Delphia was walking through the village and over to the slightly secluded area where Dylan and Delphia usually trained together.
"We do other things, but we have to get you battle ready incase." Lincoln explained to the short girl. Dylan wasn't having any of it.
"Incase of what?"
It had been two or so days since Lincoln got back from the hunting trip he had been on. The days had been spent doing the exactly same as the days before that. What Lincoln had refrained to tell Dylan was that the hunting trip actually hadn't been an hunting trip. The fact that he came back holding a dead deer had been purely coincidental.
What he had actually been doing was spying with some others at the new very large camp that had been set up a few miles from the original drop site. Lincoln had yet to tell her that he had seen Bellamy, Murphy, Raven, Octavia and Finn alive.
He wasn't even sure how to tell her. He knew by doing so she'd freak out. She'd probably punch him for not telling her straight away. Then she would surely pack her stuff, ready to reunite with her friends. Lincoln wanted Dylan to be happy, of course, but he also wanted her to be alive. Leaving the village to go back to her friends and family would be a suicide mission. War was soon going to happen, and the side Dylan ended up on would ultimately decide her fate.
Lincoln couldn't tell her. At least not yet.
"Incase of everything." Lincoln replied. "There's a lot of dangers out there that you have yet to know of. You need to know how to protect yourselves."
"Yeah, well if any of those 'dangers' come at me now, I'm dead. I'm barely standing right now. Can't we just take a day off. I could still do something useful." Dylan argued. "You could try teaching me more of you're language."
Lincoln and Delphia shared an uncertain look. Delphia speciality was combat, not language. "I will leave that to Lincoln then. I actually had other plans today anyways." Dylan let out a cry of glee, throwing her hands in the air.
"Yes!" The girl exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
Delphia smirked at Lincoln before making her exit. Lincoln huffed slightly, ruffling Dylan's hair. "Fine, you get it your way."
The Kane girl shot him a smug grin. "I always do. Now, teach me how to talk dirty to you."
