Gorsepaw practically stuck her nose into the ground as she scented a trail of blood-scent and fox. She followed it, swerving along in zigzag lines. "Are... Are you sure we're going in the right direction?" Julie panted. "Because... Because I'm not sure if I... I should be so... Exhausted from such a short period of time of walking!"

"Don't worry!" Gorsepaw called over her shoulder. "That's what happens when you've just kitted!" They had arrived in the forest, the lush trees growing high above their heads. Gorsepaw felt more at home here. They trekked through the forest, taking rest stops every once in awhile due to Julie's pain from kitting.

"We should rest here for the night." Timber said, his brown tail trailing on the leafy ground.

"You're right." Gorsepaw responded with a nod, peering up through the branches at the sky. It was nearly sundown. "I don't think we should travel at night. Especially when we have easy prey for owls."

Julie's eyes widened at the mention of owls. "Owls are here?" She gasped, looking up at the trees with a wild look in her eyes, wrapping her tail tightly around her kits, who were just jumping around.

Gorsepaw sighed. "Don't worry, it's really uncommon for a kit to be taken away from one. Just be careful with Cherry and Lily."

"Okay..." Julie murmured. They all settled down, and fell asleep.

Gorsepaw woke up, stretching her legs luxuriously as she yawned. "Morning already?" She mumbled, seeing a vole scuffling around the grass. She stalked forward, her eyes locked hungrily on the prey. She pounced, noticing that the small creature didn't notice her until she landed squarely on it. She dispatched it with a quick blow to the neck, beaming.

"I'm impressed." Shadow meowed. "I haven't seen one of those in ages."

Gorsepaw shrugged. "Back at home, it was my favorite prey on the pile." Her heart sank. "That is... Until I was taken away by the fox..." She sighed, and began eating. Soon, everybody woke up, got some prey, and continued on their journey.

"Hey! Stop! Trespasser!"
