It's been many days since the incident of Stonefall and Hawktalon's disappearance. Many cats believe they have been captured or even worse, killed. Shadestar and Falconwing have been sending multiple search parties daily for them, but each party come back with no clues.

Dreamcloud has been affected the most since her kits are going to be born any time now, and their father is no wheee to be seen. Dawnheart and Treebranch have been joining Dreamcloud in her grief for their lost brother. Duskbreeze however showed no emotion to the disappearance of her brother, since it was her idea to begin with.

She knew if she directed them towards the Sandclan border, they would either be captured by the rogues or if they were lucky, killed. She had figured Falconwing would rat her out for this being her fault, but he surprisingly kept his mouth shut the entire time.

Treebranch sat by Dreamcloud in the nursery with Dawnheart not far away mourningly. Treebranch asked "Do you guys think their ok?"

Dreamcloud looked down at her growing bigger stomach as she meowed worried "They must be...they need to be not just for us...but for our kits...I can't raise these kits without Hawktalon."

Treebranch added "And I can't go on without my brother..." Dawnheart looked towards her brother sadly as she rested her tail on his back "We will find Stonefall and Hawktalon. We have some of the greatest trackers in the forest in Mistclan! Starclan is on our side."

Dreamcloud smiled as she purred a little "You were always the most optimistic out of us all, Dawnheart."

Dawnheart tried to bring up the mood as she swished her tail "That's what your little sister is for."

The sun outside was starting to set as Dawnheart realised she was supposed to meet Sunstreak again that night. This would be their 8th night meeting and Sunstreak had promised to surprise her tonight. Dawnheart smiled as she began zoning out. He has always surprised me...that clever fur ball.

"Dawnheart? Are you ok?" Treebranch asked his sister worried which made her break out of her thoughts of Sunstreak. Dawnheart nodded "Yeah I-I'm fine...I'm just...concerned."

Dreamcloud sighed as she laid her head down on the moss and looked at her stomach "Arn't we all?"

Dawnheart sighed sadly as she looked up at the setting sun once more.

"Sunstreak...we can't keep meeting like this every night." Dawnheart meowed worried as she rested her head on Sunstreak's shoulder.

Sunstreak glanced down at her concerned as he asked "Has something happened?" He paused before panicking "You haven't become a Medicine Cat have you?"

Dawnheart sat up laughed "No! Of course not! It's...family business..."

Sunstreak hesitated as he looked down at the grass, shifting his paws. I'm not relying on you to help me anymore grass. He looked up at Dawnheart and asked "I've known you for many moons now and I've had the same feeling in my heart since I first laid eyes on you."

Dawnheart widened his eyes with her heart pounding. He continued "Whenever anything goes wrong in my life, I will come running home...to you. You're my home Dawnheart...you're my life."

Dawnheart gasped surprised as he asked warmly "Dawnheart...will you be my mate?"

She wants to scream yes but some sort of feeling held her back "But we're in different clans Sunstreak...how will we-"

He cut her off with his tone gaining excitement "I can join Mistclan! Or...if you want...you can join Brightclan! I promise you, we will make it work."

Dawnheart began to saddened as she lowered her ears and her eyes growing bigger with sadness "Sunstreak, I can't-"

He hesitated for a moment as he looked away laughing a little "That alright....then I will just join Mistclan with you."

Dawnheart tried forcing her entire sentence out but emotions were flooding through her mind "Sunstreak, that's not what I meant."

Sunstreak kept going on "We can start a family together and...maybe I can join your family!"

Dawnheart felt tears running down her cheek as she meowed louder "Sunstreak! Please listen to me!"

Sunstreak went quiet as he lowered his ears "I'm sorry...I got a little carried away...I understand if you don't-"

Dawnheart meowed quickly "Of course I love you Sunstreak...I always have and I've realised that now...but we can't be mates. Don't take it personally, it's not about you."

Sunstreak pleaded as he put his paw on top of hers "What's it about then? You can trust me."

Dawnheart looked away sadly "My brother and my sister's mate was captured...and I feel helpless, knowing I can't help them."

Sunstreak looked at her sympathetically "I'm here for you...you know that. I will support you in whatever decision you make."

Dawnheart smiled towards his remark before she perked her ears and went dead serious. She could hear the faint sound of cats yowling and cheering the words Death to Mistclan...

Dawnheart leaped to her paws as she meowed quickly "Do you hear that? It sounds like cats saying, death to Mistclan!" Sunstreak raised his ears and listened for a few heartbeats before nodding "I hear it too...come on!"

He began racing down the hill in the direction of the noise, with Dawnheart following behind him worried. They raced across the thunderpath without even looking, as they entered Mistclan territory, and made their way closer and closer to the cheering noise. They eventually came closer to the Sandclan border and came to a halt right in front of it.

Dawnheart looked towards Sunstreak worried "This is the rogue territory...if we go in...there's no guarantee we will come out."

Sunstreak looked away with his eyes narrowed as he asked her "Is this important to you?"

Dawnheart nodded worried "It is..."

He dipped his head "I will do anything for you...come on." He dashed across the border and ran into Sandclan territory, with Dawnheart following behind him. Dawnheart began to remember the first time...and the last time she visited this territory when she was almost torn apart by Shadow, for not being loyal to the rogues.

They both came to a halt when the cheering was very close to where they were standing. They both crouched down quietly next to each other, as their fur brushed. They both listened quietly as Dawnheart could make out a familiar voice "Falconwing's death will be my beginning!"

Dawnheart gasped softly "Duskbreeze..." Sunstreak looked at her surprised "That's your sister? Geese...I thought my sister was pretty nuts."

Dawnheart silenced him when she moved her tail as she continued listening to her sister "When Falconwing dies tonight...I shall become the next deputy of Mistclan, and soon leader!"

"You better not end up killing him yourself. Viper gave me the order to kill him." Shadow growled as he approached Duskbreeze.

Duskbreeze sighed "I understand but it would mean soooo much to me if I could."

Shadow flicked his tail annoyed as cats continued chanting the same words over and over again. "Why do I have to love you so much, Duskbreeze?"

Duskbreeze meowed back slyly "Thank you my love. Will you tell Viper?"

Shadow laughed "My father trusts my word. I will tell him I was the one who killed him." Duskbreeze smiled as she approached Shadow and rested her head on his back. "When he dies at my claws...I will be more powerful than ever...just like when I killed Gingersplash."

Shadow added "And when I killed that pathetic mother of yours."

Duskbreeze and Shadow turned around towards a grey tom-cat and a brown tom-cat, who were being surrounded by a bunch of rogues. Duskbreeze asked "What do you have to say about this Stonefall?"

Stonefall narrowed his eyes and growled "You piece of fox dung, excuse of a cat! You'll never succeed with this!" A black she-cat leaped at Stonefall as she bit down on his muzzle, forcing it shut.

Duskbreeze smiled as she looked at the brown tom who was glancing at Stonefall horrified. "What about you, Hawktalon? Any comments?"

Hawktalon lowered his ears as he kept his mouth closed. She smirked "Didn't think so."

Dawnheart felt a tear slip down from her eye when she heard the names of the cats she loved. Sunstreak looked at her worried "Gingersplash...wasn't she your mentor? And Dawnbreeze...Duskbreeze knew about her going to die?"

Dawnheart whispered urgently "We need to warn Falconwing...and tell the clan my brother and Hawktalon are here."

Sunstreak nodded in agreement as they both spun around and sneakily raced their way towards Mistclan together.
