2 moons later...
"Then, the rouge leader, Viper, leaped at me but I ducked and raked his belly, making him run away like the coward he is!" An old male cat voice exclaimed proudly.

Duskkit sat next to Dawnkit as she laughed "That's not true! You can't chase of a rouge leader like that!"

The brown old cat smirked and shrugged "Maybe not now but I could when I had my energy!"

Dawnkit nudged Duskkit lightly and purred "I think Rowaneye is telling the truth!"

Duskkit stood up and flicked her tail towards Dawnkit as she glared at Rowaneye "I'm going back to the den. I don't have time for Nursery tails." As she finished, she spun around and exited the den and headed towards the nursery.

Dawnkit saddened as she looked back towards Rowaneye "I'm sorry she's like this."

Rowaneye laughed and then he rested his tail on Dawnkit's back and pulled her closer, as he whispered "Don't let her bring you down ok? Stay optimistic, ok kit?"

Dawnkit raised her ears and nodded as Rowaneye moved his tail and whispered "Good luck today."

Dawnkit stood to her paws and tilted her head "Good luck with what?"

He began chuckling "Your apprentice ceremony. Now go have fun before you are put to work."

Dawnkit widened her eyes and leaped with excitement "My apprentice ceremony! Thanks Rowaneye!" With that, she spun around and raced out of the elder's den and headed for the nursery.

When she reached the nursery, she saw Dawnbreeze licking Duskkit repeatedly. Oh no...Dawnbreeze remembered our ceremony! Bath time....

She watched trying not to laugh as Duskkit tried to escape from her mother's grasp but it was no use. Dawnbreeze finished up bathing her when she licked her pale white muzzle, making Duskkit sneeze. Dawnkit bursted out laughing as Duskkit growled at the sound of it.

Dawnkit immediately stopped laughing when she realize it was her turn next to get a bath. Duskkit quickly padded away from her mothers grip as Dawnbreeze reached for Dawnkit and pulled her in for her bath. Duskkit sat down and mocked Dawnkit "Haha you're getting a bath. Tough it up."

Dawnbreeze licked Dawnkit's head and gave Duskkit a warning stare to make her stop teasing. Dawnkit moaned as her mother licked her muzzle making her sneeze too.

Dawnbreeze let go of Dawnkit and mewed happily "My young little warriors."

Duskkit rolled her eyes "Reallyyyy?"

Then a string male voice from outside the den echoed "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the high ledge for a clan meeting."

Dawnbreeze stood to her paws and nudge each of her kits lightly with her head towards the direction of the nursery exit "Go on now."

Dawnkit and Duskkit smiled as they walked out of the nursery and made their way to the high ledge. As they stood below it, a pitch black Tom with yellow eyes stood on the high ledge with his head held high "It's time for these two kits to become apprentices."

Soon as he finished the sentence, it seemed as if every single cat in the forest was circled around the front of the high ledge watching them earn their apprentice names.

Dawnkit nervously sat next to Duskkit, looking up towards their leader, Shadestar. Dawnkit glanced at Duskkit looking for any signs of her being nervous but she looked completely fine... angry if anything.

Shadestar mewed clearly "Duskkit. Step forward."

I smiled happily for Duskkit as she stood up and took a step forward towards the high ledge.

Shadestar asked "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and defend it, even with your life?"

Duskkit swished her tail back and forth as she nodded "I do."

Shadestar promoted "From this moment, until you've received your warrior name, you shall be known as Duskpaw. You're mentor will be a Leafblossum."

"Duskpaw! Duskpaw! Duskpaw!"

Duskpaw spun around as she saw a light brown she-cat with a white underbelly approach Duskpaw and touch noses with her. Duskpaw closed her eyes and mewed "I promise I will make you proud."

Leafblossum took a step back and mewed softly "I know you will."

Soon as Leafblossum turned around to head for the crowd, Duskpaw followed right behind her as she hissed under her breath "I can't believe I got you for a mentor...you're so weak."

Then Shadestar looked down towards Dawnkit "Dawnkit. Step forward."

Dawnkit uneasily stepped forward and looked up towards her leader.

He prompted once more "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and defend it, even with your life?"

Dawnkit let her tail stick up high as she smiled "I do."

Shadestar finished as he shifted his paws "Then from this moment on, until you've received your warrior name, you shall be known as Dawnpaw. Your mentor shall be Gingersplash."

Some cats began gasping with shock and gossiping. Dawnpaw spun around and saw an orange and white she cat with green eyes approaching her as they both touched noses.

Dawnpaw's heart was racing The clan deputy is my mentor!

Dawnpaw mewed worried "I will make you proud, I promise!"

Gingersplash purred with amusement "I'm sure you will Dawnpaw."

Shadestar mewed happily "Clan is dismissed." As he jumped off the high ledge and padded into his den.

Dawnpaw and Duskpaw padded up to each other. Duskpaw gave her a mixed of happy and angry emotion "I can't believe you got Gingersplash as a mentor!"

Dawnpaw stepped closer to her and nudged her lightly "I'm sure Leafblossum is amazing too!"

Duskpaw looked down ashamed "Hey...I was thinking...maybe we can start over?"

Dawnpaw tilted her head as all the cats walked away "What do you mean?"

Duskpaw explained softly "We weren't the best of friends as kits...but maybe now that we are apprentices...we can start over?"

Dawnpaw widened her eyes and smiled "Of course."

They both looked up towards each other when they saw their siblings, Dreampaw, a pale white she cat with light blue eyes, Stonepaw, a dark grey tom cat with orange eyes, and Treepaw, a light brown Tom cat with yellow eyes, racing up to them happily.

Dreampaw purred "Congratulations Duskpaw! Congratulations Dawnpaw!"

Dawnpaw and Duskpaw smiled as they Stonepaw exclaimed hyperly "We can have more siblings we can train with now!"

Treepaw nodded in agreement "It will be so cool!"

Dawnpaw jumped with agreement "Yeah! We get to train with our brothers and sister, isn't this great Duskpaw?"

Duskpaw twitched her ear and nodded "Y-yeah."

Dreampaw glanced towards Duskpaw worried and stepped closer "Are you alright sis?"

Duskpaw shook her head and nodded "I'm fine. I'm just uh...so happy we are apprentices!"

Dreampaw purred and closed her eyes smiling in agreement.

Then a voice called from behind them "Dreampaw! Stonepaw! Treepaw! It's time for your group battle training!"

Stonepaw turned around towards Duskpaw and Dawnpaw and mewed "See ya later guys!"

With that, they all spun around and raced towards their mentors.

Dawnpaw and Duskpaw were once more left alone with each other.
