Chapter 8

Stripedheart^^^

1 moon later...

I walked alone through a shadowy forest, I could hear cats yowling in battle and smelt fresh blood. The fur on my shoulders rose when a cat's scent drifted across my nose. I paused beside an oak tree that was surrounded by bracken and crouched. I could hear a cat stalking through the bushes. I started to back away, but I suddenly felt teeth bite down on my tail. I spun, shrieking at the cat, my claws connected with her face. Blood splattered across her beautiful silver tabby coat.

"Calm down Rodentpaw!" The she-cat hissed, blood dripped down her face. "I'm not going to hurt you!"

"Then why did you grab my tail?" I hissed back, lapping at the blood.

"To get your attention! How mouse-brained are you?" The she-cat growled. The silver tabby stalked into the trees, signaling with her tail to follow her.

"I'm Silverhollow," the she-cat meowed, breaking the silence, "I've been here since the Dawn of the Cats of Hollow Tree,"

"Really?" I gasped, now I could see it, she had a ghostly outline to her, almost transparent.

"Back then I was known as Silver Ray Of The Empty Hollow," Silverhollow growled, "back when I was your age,"

"Why did it change?" I questioned.

"When we heard of the Cats of the Glimmering Lake, we became Lightclan, Darkclan, Flowerclan, and Abyssclan," Silverhollow sighed, I thought I had seen something flash across her eyes.

"Why are you here?" I asked.

Silverhollow spun around, pushing her face a whisker length from mine. "Because I made a few mistakes in my life that got me killed!" She snarled. Her face softened.

"My brother was Eagles Feather On The High Ridge," Silverhollow stared  at the  ground, " when he became Eaglestar of Lightclan I grew jealous, I didn't get why he was the leader and I wasn't,"

"You were the first leader of Lightclans sister?" I gasped, dumbstruck.

"Yes," Silverhollow nodded, "I was so angry I-," Silverhollow took a deep breath in, "I killed his mate and kits," she looked at the ground, ashamed of what she did.

"But all the stories say that a filthy, crow-food smelling, kit-eating rouge killed them!" I whimpered, standing in front of me was a murderer.

"Yes, that's what they called me, for moons I was tortured and punished because of what I did, they never forgave me," Silverhollow sobbed.

"Did they kill you?" I asked, waiting to hear what happened next.

"That is not for you to hear!" Silverhollow snapped at me, "cats do have personal lives you know!"

"Silverhollow," A voice growled from behind the she-cat. Silverhollow froze, her eyes widened in fear and her hackles rose.

From the bushes emerged a large brown tom with snowy white paws. He looked like me but with green eyes instead of amber. Stars glittered in his fur, but they were dull and fading, he had been here for as long as Silverhollow had been.

"Eaglestar." Silverhollow bowed her head to him.

"Eaglestar?" I gasped, in front of me was the first leader of Lightclan.

"Hello Rodentpaw," Eaglestar purred, "I see that you have heard of me,"

"Of course I have! You're the first leader of Lightclan!" I gaped.

The two littermates were glaring at each other, clearly not happy to be together.

"Why are you here?" Silverhollow hissed at him. Her fur bristling.

"To take Rodentpaw back," Eagestar snarled back to his sister.

"I'm not going back with you!" I blurted out unexpectedly.

"What?" Eaglestar growled anger flashed in his green eyes.

"You treated Silverhollow badly!" I snarled, "you could have at least exiled her! Not torture her!"

"You do not understand the ways of the clans," Eaglestar glared at me, I shuffled my white paws nervously.

"I do!" My amber eyes darted quickly around the Dark Forest. "You are the one who followed Tribe rules!"

"I won't put up with this Mouse Dung," Eaglestar growled, "you can stay if you want Rodentpaw, but you are making a bad choice," he flicked his fading glittery tail and stalked off towards where a thick mist hung in the air.

This chapter will be a bit shorter. The next one should be longer.
