"Let all cats old enough to kill their enemy's join here beneath the blood tree for a clan meeting!" Smokestar's voice rang out around the SparkClan camp clearing , drawing cats from their dens.

Hazepaw was already sitting where she was supposed to sit. Apparently. She still didn't quite get why she had to sit by the tree, but she had to. Ashblaze was sitting on the other side, head held high, and smokestar was, or course, on the tree. There were no shadows for hazepaw to hide in, since the sun was high in the sky.

After all the cats had gathered, smokestar yowled "today, we bring in two new apprentice into the clan. We also have two assessments. Maplekit, Acornkit, Brownkit, come here now."

 The two kits c.and slowly up to the ginger and gray leader, eyes wide with both excitement and fear. Acornkit, being the smallest, was stumbling along behind her brothers, until they reached the red tree.

 "Maplekit." Smokestar nodes to the ginger tom kit. " until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as maplepaw. Your mentor will be... Gingerpelt. "

Gingerpelt stepped tentatively out of the crowd, shooting hazepaw a worried look. Hazepaw tilted her head. She wasn't going to do anything, all She was doing was sitting at the roots of a tree!

 "Teach this apprentice to be loyal to the warrior code."

 The fake one. Hazepaw added in her head.

 "Acornkit. Until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as acornpaw. Nighttooth, you will be her mentor."

 Nighttooth, a small, and quiet black tom with many scars, stepped forward, crouched low to the ground.

 "Well? What are you waiting for?" Smokestar snapped. " Get up here! "

Nighttooth walked up to where acornpaw sat, bouncing up and down in excitement. How could she be exited when she was being made an apprentice by smokestar?

 "And lastly, brownkit, until you get your warrior name, your new name will be brownpaw. Your mentor will be. .. Lionfang."

 " Wait, but isn't lionfang my mentor? " came a voice from the gathered cats, and hazepaw looked into them to see lilypaw, raising her tail.

"Next," smokestar continued not bothering to pay attention to the ginger apprentice, "we will mAke me warriors. Lilypaw, hawkpaw, and volepaw."

The three apprentices stepped forward , though lilypaw did it a bit more slowly than her littermates.

"You will go into the forest. Your mentors will lead you outside clan territory. You will stay there for seven sunrises, and come back, no more, no less than seven sunrises. Lionfang, redshadow, and grayclaw, go. Now."

 " But then who will train me? " brownpaw asked in his high pitched mew.

"No one today. This meeting is over." Smokestar growled , leaping down from the giant red tree.

Hazepaw saw all the other cats going into their dens, and hawkpaw, lilypaw, and volepaw being led out of camp. Would she have to do that as well, have to spend seven sunrises away from the clans territory?

She pushed herself up, and padded softly into the apprentices den, wondering how acornpaw, brownpaw, and maplepaw would like her. They probably wouldn't, but it was worth a try.

"Uh... Hi." Hazepaw said awkwardly, seeing the three new apprentices by the car side of the den. "Um... How are you... ?"

" This is super cool! " acornpaw exploded excitedly. "We're apprentices! And I'm gonna be leader!"

 Oh. So there might actually be cats in SparkClan who didn't hate her.

" No way, I'm going to be leader." Said maplepaw, raising his head. "I'd be a really better leader than you!"

"It's not I'd be a really better leader, it's just I'd be a better leader, maplepaw." Brownpaw corrected his brother , rolling his eyes. "But it your going to bed leader, I'm going to be the medicine cat."

" Ugh, why? Medicine cats don't do anything, they just lay around in their dens. " acornpaw told him. "Being a warrior is so much better!"

Maplepaw nodded in agreement . "Yeah, they only put herbs on super little kits and super little apprentices and super bad wounds on super loyal warriors."

Hazepaw laughed, and muttered "thanks, StarClan. " under her breath. 

Her warrior ancestors must have let the kits like her.

"What?" Brownpaw asked, apparently hearing her.

" Oh, nothing. I didn't say anything. " hazepaw reassured.

acornpaw looked at her suspiciously, before turning her head to look at her brothers. "I'm tired." She announced , before plopping down in house nest, curling up in a tight ball.

hazepaw saw brownpaw and maplepaw doing the same as she walked out of the apprentices den.

Hazepaw lied down in her nest, closing her eyes, and trying to fall asleep. To her surprise, she did so almost immediately. There only reason she knew  she was asleep, however, was because she woke up in the dark place she kept going in her sleep.

"Have you decided yet?" Came a soft, menacing voice from behind her.

hazepaw whirled around, but saw no cat there.

 " your time is up. Two sunrises have passed.  Will you join us. "

 "I-I don't know." Hazepaw murmured.

"Shall we decide for you?" The voice asked .

"I want to know where I am." Hazepaw told her. OR, she thought it was a her. " And who you are."

"call me moon." The voice answered . "If you can't decide, you will join us. And once you do, you do not leave. If you do not join us, you shall die!"

" I-i... " Hazepaw started, backing away from the voice.

"Your decision, Hazepaw? " the voice, moon, asked. "You belong here. We Could give you a purpose."

"I-"

"You will join us. Now you don't have to decide. " moon growled, and suddenly, the darkness surrounding hazepaw lifted.

She looked around, to see a strange, greenish glow surrounding everything. She looked up, to see a totally black sky, with no stars or moon in sight.i

Then she saw the day who had been talking to her. Moon.

Moon was a very pale white, with spots, and she seemed to be almost transparent.

"What's your real name. Like, wouldn't it have to be moon, something? Like... Moonclaw, or something? "

" Just moon. " moon growled back. "Tonight, we start training."

 And then hazepaw eyes flew open, and she was blinded by the light flooding into the apprentices den.
