Prolouge
Running was all I could do. When you're scared , and creatures are chasing you that's all you can do. Just run.
I wove between the trees, alarmed at how much I was weakening. A monster, big, black, and scaly, had laid its claws into my side, and I bleeding out. But I had to keep running. I dodged bushes, leapt over logs, and sped up when I heard its footsteps close behind.
Not good, and I was losing running space.
I saw the river bank, the one that marks the border between the Light Realm and the Shadow Realm. It was rumored that if you reached it, you could travel between these
2 realms. But that required crossing the river, something I didn't have the mind, or energy, to do. Well, either that or the thing behind me...
I turned around, just to see its red eyes glaring at me. I gave a yelp of surprise, then took the leap. I was suspended in the air for an eternity, then I hit freezing cold water. With what remained of my strength, I swam to the other side, climbed up, and crossed the border. I could feel myself being warped to what was the Light Realm, then I was in a forest.
The sights and scents stunned me for a minute. It was so different...
My vision swirled and I staggered. I needed shelter; I needed help. I raised my nose up, trying to find the scent of someone who could help me. Over the scent of my own blood and the forest, I scented a large group of cats.
With staggering steps I made my way to where I scented them. After many trips and falls, I crossed the scent border. I laid down, too tired to move.
I flicked my ear, as rustling caught my attention. I glanced over in that direction, to see five cats waking towards me, and they didn't exactly seem friendly. Well... can't say I didn't try.
The lead cat was white in color, with a torn ear, scars across her chest, right eye, and side, and the air of a leader. The other cats stayed behind her, with pelt colors of brown, tabby, orange, grey, and black and white.
"She's hurt..." the lead cat said. I didn't respond, not knowing what they were going to do.
"Flametalon go get Stoneleaf...Now!" She said when the orange cat didn't move.
I gave a faint smile. So they were going to help me after all... I let myself drift off to sleep being taken away from everything.
