"Oceanheart, I want to speak with you." Firestar meowed. Oceanheart followed him to his den and settled down. Oceanheart looked down at her paws in shame.

"Oceanheart, you know, shouting at a leader, at a Gathering, is unnecessary!" He growled, "It was not your place to speak!"

"I know, I'm sorry, Firestar." Oceanheart meowed faintly, "I was just angry that Blackstar would accuse us of prey-stealing."

"I know you wanted to defend your clan." He began, "And Blackstar had no right to accuse us! Though, I'm gonna have to punish you." Oceanheart nodded, "You will not go to the next two Gatherings, that is your punishment." Oceanheart nodded again in understanding and sat up to leave the den, but Firestar stopped her.

"I also have something to ask you," Oceanheart turned around, "would you like to lead a patrol?" Oceanheart thought about it for a bit.

"But, I just became a warrior, a couple moons ago." She protested.

"I know and you're a great warrior, I think it's time for you lead a patrol." he meowed.

"Well in that case, I will be honored to lead a patrol, Firestar." Oceanheart decided. Firestar nodded. "I want you to take 2 cats with you tomorrow at sun high, to patrol the Riverclan border." Oceanheart nodded and Firestar dismissed her from his den. She started padding toward the Warrior Den. She curled up in her nest and fell asleep. She has a big day tomorrow.

*The next day at sun high*

Oceanheart and her patrol are heading to the Riverclan border. Oceanheart has taken Sandstorm and Cloudtail with her. Once they had reached the border, there were no Riverclan scents on their side and no sign of intruding cats. Oceanheart had suggested that they hunt for a while, with Cloudtail hunting by himself and her and Sandstorm hunting together. Sandstorm had a thrush and a couple mice, Oceanheart had caught a squirrel, a blackbird, and a vole. They started padding back to camp and the whole time, Oceanheart noticed Sandstorm glaring at her. She put down her fresh-kill to speak.

"What's wrong, Sandstorm?" she asked. Sandstorm dropped her fresh-kill.

"It's none of your business, kittypet!" she hissed.

"No! I want to know what's wrong!" Oceanheart exclaimed.

Sandstorm turned her head to Oceanheart and bared her teeth,"Why do you want to know what's wrong with me? You're just a pathetic little kittypet, who begged Firestar to accept you into the clan! I know you like him, but if you really think he'll ask you to be his mate, you're wrong!" Cloudtail, who was about to head back camp, could hear Sandstorm scolding at Oceanheart. He hid in a bush, just a fox-length from the two she-cats. Sandstorm wasn't done,"He loves me, not you! All you do is lay around, do nothing, and eat all our fresh-kill! You've done nothing for this clan! You're better off being run over by a monster on the Thunderpath!"

Oceanheart, with tears in her eyes, immediately remembered when her brother, Comet, was ran over by a monster on the Thunderpath near her old kittypet home. She stared at Sandstorm with round, terrified eyes. She backed away a few paw steps, and sprinted away from Sandstorm. Not caring about where she was going.
