Life was hard for Cloudstar. He had lost his mate, his daughter had betrayed him, the Clans were coming to an end, he had gotten a prophecy that he would save the Clans, and kits had joined evil. Firebirch peered into his den. "Cloudstar, are you okay?" He asked. "No, I'm not okay! Everything is horrible. How have I unveil the lightning?" Cloudstar's muttered. His mew became softer. "Wait, I think I know. It might have been when you became mates with Brightspirit. Lightningstar didn't want to be kin with someone who broke the code, twice. He took your kit to betray you and made her kill Brightspirit!" Firebirch exclaimed. "I think you're right." Cloudstar stretched his legs. Firebirch went back to his den. He went to sleep. "Firebirch, Firebirch, Firebirch." A voice started echoing around the walls. He turned around to search for the voice. "The hidden shadows are what you must find. Go to the Moonpool if you want to know more, Firebirch." The voice faded away. "Wait! Tell me more! What will the hidden shadows do?" I have to go to the Moonpool. I have to tell the other medicine cats, but how? Firebirch dashed out of camp, unaware of Bramblethorn. He was guarding the camp tonight. "Hey! Firebirch, where do you think you're going?" He hissed. Bramblethorn jumped down from the rock he was sitting on while watching. "Medicine cat business!" Firebirch yowled as he began to leave the camp. He stopped as Bramblethorn jumped down in front of him. "Firebirch, tell me." He growled softly. Firebirch sighed. "Fine, StarClan came to me and told me to get the other medicine cats." "You can't! You can get caught. And I thought StarClan abandoned us! They haven't spoken to us since Lightningstar took over!" Firebirch tried to push his way through Bramblethorn's shoulders. "I'm coming with you." Bramblethorn padded by his side and they walked towards ShadowClan. Firebirch crept into the dark camp. "You look in the warriors den and I'll look in the medicine den." Firebirch whispered. Bramblethorn nodded. Firebirch peered into the medicine den. It was all covered in cobwebs and old dried-up herbs everywhere. Great StarClan, why did they abandon this place? Just before he could finish his thoughts a scarred shadow came out. "Firebirch? Is that you?" "Yes, yes it is." Firebirch recognized the shadow's mew. "Spireblaze, I need you and the other medicine cats to come to the Moonpool." Firebirch meowed. Spireblaze blinked. "There are no medicine cats. Lightningstar made this the prisoner den. He thought medicine cats are cowards for not fighting. He barely gives us anything to eat. Lakeshine has died of hunger and Eaglenose is getting really sick. He can't even get out of this den. Lightningstar has warriors guarding the camp everywhere. We can't go out and get herbs for him. Leafbreeze and I would like to visit the Moonpool with you. I'll go get her." Firebirch just noticed he could sort-of see the golden tom's bones. Was he that hungry? Leafbreeze came out. She looked just like Spireblaze. "Firebirch! You're okay!" "Of course I'm okay. Now I believe we have to go."
